Joan that rollator sounds a great idea. I hope it helps you stay mobile - I think you are amazing
Poor Barbara - that laptop is being really naughty maybe you will have to invest in a separate keyboard??? No chemo today in fact none until Monday - yippee!!
Lucy had smoked salmon pasta for her tea tonight at her request and wolfed the lot down so I am happy
Oooh what was that?

Elizabeth, the Lancaster is still hangered at our airport. They took receipt of a new engine today. Don't know how long it'll take them to replace the old one. My daughter and her husband wanted to go to Australia initially but 2 babies coming along meant that my son-in-law reached the age where he lost points making it more difficult. Recently they looked in to Singapore but they can only get visas for 1 month. Now they are thinking of living in Malaya and commuting in to Singapore for work. Thankfully, my daughter told me today that her boss has sent her CV to their company over there and she should be getting a phone call from them. Fingers crossed, although my daughter was hoping for a couple of months off with the kids before starting a job. Have you been over there?
Toni, I think you are right about my cucumber. I decided to pick it as the main stem of the plant is starting to mush. Don't think I'll be getting any more from it.
Barbara, the Lancaster is undergoing repairs and having a new engine fitted. It has a show to go to on Tuesday and then off back off to Canada. This will be the last long haul flight (14 hours) it will do.
Joan, the rollater sounds like a good idea. Hope it makes things easier for you.
Toni, great, no chemo. So glad to hear Lucy is eating well at the moment. Long may it continue. Have a good day tomorrow.
Got to dad's today to find the nurse with him. He has been feeling not so well for a couple of days and he's stumbled a few times. They think it might be a chest infection but the doctor is calling tomorrow to check on him. Sunny here today but quite windy.Christine0 -
I'm glad her appetite has returned even if its only temporary as it is important to build up her strength while she can.
Joan I hope the rollater/seat helps. Lucy helped me hang out the washing today but she is only just tall enough to reach the line on tiptoes.
I had a long lie-in this morning after my late night. But it is already getting dark and not yet 19.30.
Barbara Sorry haven't asked how your Son is for ages. I'm so glad he will have regular check ups.
Is that sheep waiting for Cris to return?

You snuck in quietly Applerose. Maybe the noise of the kettle drowned you out. Sorry your Dad is unwell.
Iv'e only seen Malaysia on the news. Thought I'd got it wrong after I'd posted, as I remembered you said Singapore but you said both so I'm not going mad then? Shame they missed out on Australia.
I watched some video of the Eastbourne airshow and just felt so emotional watching the Lancaster bombers. I'm sure it will be on the mend soon. It missed Bournemouth airshow so wonder where it is going on Tuesday?

Joan the rollators are a brilliant idea especially the ones you can sit or can you sit on them all :? hope it helps..
Christine..what a shame for the Lancaster ..not flying over Britain again..hope you get to see it on its last long haul flight..aww I hope your dad will be ok, there are lots of chest infections around...its probably gone in his ear so making him off balance...hope it works out for your daughter and family...you must be so worried....I just wish I had done something like that when young...
Toni yes this laptop is naughty...Christmas is not long away...oops sorry I mentioned it..but thinking I might get a new one....I love to hear that Lucy is eating well and more to the point enjoying it...
I love the sheep didn't Cris have 3...

Elizabeth, the nights do seem to suddenly draw in, don't they, even though we know it happens every year. Hope I didn't scare you when I came in. The Lancaster is hoping (or should I say the Lancaster's crew) to be at East Kirkby on Tuesday. I keep looking out the window whenever I hear a noise in case they are test flying her.
Thanks Barbara, I got a text off my sister saying the doctor's not too worried. He just needs to make an appointment for a check up on Monday. I wanted to travel the world when I left school but I would have had to go on my own and with no money. They seem to do it these days but I wouldn't have dared. New laptop for the C wordsounds like a good idea. I think it sounds as if the baby will soon be wanting her own phone.
Christine0 -
Hi all, PC playing silly beggars tonight so it will have to join barbara's laptop and have a talking to, back tomorrow. xx0
-
Good morning everyone
Toady - oh dear another computer on the blink - very annoyingI hope that you are at least ok.
Christine - what a relief that the Dr is happy enough with your Dad. I agree with you and Elizabeth it IS getting darker so much earlier now. Such a shame, but we did have some brilliant weather this year
My cucumbers are also past their best and almost ready for the compost heap, but I am just glad I grew them this year!
Morning Elizabeth - Thank you it's great that Lucy's eating so well, (where I can I'm adding cream to her diet/full-fat milk too), but she's doing most of it herself by feeling better.
I think that sheep is waiting for Cris yes
So good that your Lucy is helping you bless her
Barbara if you've been a good girl maybe Santa will sort you out a new laptopI think the sheep are waiting for Cris. She has lots ATM which is much safer for them (they like to be in a group) two retired city farm sheep....or is that 3 now? Alba from Scotland who is very spoiled!!!
What's the baby app Barbara - does it stop them dialing 999? Lucy used to do that all the time on our house phone when she was a baby
Right better have a quick once over...seem to have had some rowdies in there's quite a mess at the corner table :?
and

morning all what a beautiful day here, just having a cuppa and watching the birds. If anyone is interested a-g-s have bird feeders on sale its a pole with three hanging hooks and two places for a tray and water full price was £22 on sale for£8.99 i got one yesterday so here i sit with tea and a biscuit watching a sparrow throw all the seed out.
Hope the weather lasts for a while. Take care all .Mig0 -
Hello mig, christine, barbara, toady, toni, elizabeth, joan, Ohh, a full house almost.
Christine, the Lancasters, Vera and Thumper are supposed to be flying over parts of Nottingham today. They're hoping Vera will be repaired in time.
mig, we have something similar to your bird feeder. All we get are big fat wood pigeons sitting in the seed on the tray and scoffing all the nuts from the nut feeder.
Toni, so glad that Lucy is feeling well enough to eat. It will build her strength up before the next dose.
Toady, sorry to hear you too have PC trouble. This is why we have more than one - only problem is they tend to go awol at the same time. :?
Joan, those rollators are brilliant. There's a chappie near us who uses one. He terrifies OH and me when he catches our bus with it. He can hardly put one foot in front of the other and to see him cross the busy road - our hearts are in our mouths as the traffic doesn't slow down for him. Do NOT want to see him get knocked down.
Well, one week and one day to my appointment. I just keep dreading getting a letter to say they've cancelled it and made me another at a later date. So I'm keeping everything crossed it still goes ahead.:?

Lovely outside so far, was starting to think that was our lot. PC fine today :? temperamental sometimes, maybe it gets tired by nighttime, trust me to have a comp that starts flagging after it's been awake a while
fits I suppose..
Frog, in & cleaning at 7.48!puts me to utter shame.
See you later on.0 -
Afternoon all
Mig thanks so much fort hat I hope they have some left tomorrow..or I could reserve one..we have a similar one in the back garden and want one for the front..
Kath..I have everything crossed that they don't cancel your appointment..I love the names of the Lancaster's...
Toady good to know you have solved the comp prob..think mine is beyond redemption...
The weather is glorious hope it last for our little break in Blackpool..keep your fingers crossed...
GD just gone home with a bag fill of goodies...and now I am going to sit in the garden...xxxxxx

Hello again people
I have been keeping up so I know how everyone is (but lots to reply to so will keep it short), glad it's been a sunny day for most.
Lovely to see marrianne & pleased the anti-tnf's seem to be going welland the washing machine is all systems go, have had mine a long time so if everyone's don't last long, either I got a good'un or I don't wash enough.
Yes I need a backup pc too really Kath, as I have sorting out to do on this one that I never get round to, I more likely would if I had summat else (as I could leave it in bits if needs be!) - so laptop it is BUT not for C barbara, and shame on you for mentioning such a thing! Honestly!!) Have looked at your pics Kath, plus your description, ow you poor thingfor no good reason I imagined the nodular bit meant affecting nodules under the skin leading to itching on the surface. As it is, you would think (wouldn't you? ) that they could have diagnosed that more quickly, or was it simply that they did but didn't share the info with you?! Barely a week til appt, best of luck it 'holds'.
Barbara when are you off to Blackpool, sometime this week I believe but can't see what day. Fancy you nearly went to Canadahow that would have changed history for you. Have some relatives there somewhere I imagine from family that went out of my Gdad's generation. When do you see the neuro as well please (questions questions!)
Hope the doc is happy with how your Dad seems tomorrow applerose. Hope you get some reassuring news from your daughter soon too. I have never seen a Lancaster go over afaik but I have seen the Vulcan before. It was over Lincoln with the 2 Lancasters on the 21st apparently, not sure how that fits with your landing. Was your little cucumber edible, that is the questionI think I had Frog's snails this year, on my sunflowers, so maybe they migrated my way & left her cues alone. Odd because if I plant 3 feet further up the same border to the other side of a shrub, they are fine.
Love to TK, mig & joan (glad the rollator is helping you with things), I will put the kettle on myself it's my turn, and there are chunky cookies, have a good start to the week everyone. xx
ps thank you for your own rat 'tales' everyone  , mine had been dealt with before I posted (we won't go into that..) and I am praying 'you know who' has not found some sort of local ratty habitat and that there will be no more! nothing so far. Let's hope!0 -
Toady, not your laptop too. Glad it is starting to behave again. I did have a slight problem with 2 of the keys but it seems ok now. Think I got the crumbs out.
I've posted in the gardening thread. I went out at 10.30 and didn't come in till 2.30. Nearly forgot to have lunch. I haven't tried my curly cucumber yet. I'm still using one I bought but will try it in the next couple of days. That's a bit strange the snails only bothering your plants on one side of the shrub. Must be something there they don't like.
Toni, looks as if Cris' sheep are keeping fit for her. Hope Lucy has enjoyed her meals again today. Wonder who was sitting at the corner table?
Barbara, Canada? Wonder how different life would have been for you. When I was married and the kids were toddlers, my husband went for an interview for a job in South Africa. If he had got the job, we would have had a house in the deal and a gardener and maids. Apparently, everyone working for that company got them. Looking back, I'm glad he didn't get the job. Don't really like the idea of that. There's another Lancaster called Just Jane. When is your trip to Blackpool? Is it this week? The weather forecast is for no rain this week.
Mig, I bought a bird feeder similar to that one. I hung a couple of the long wire feeders on it as well as the trays. Only the pigeons were interested and they were too heavy so kept knocking it over.
Kath, the Canadian engineers have been working all hours to get VeRA up in the air again. They had to have a brand new engine delivered. I've seen pictures of them working on the engines. They had to remove the propeller then the old engine. As there were differences between the old and new one, they had to get parts to adapt the new one to fit. Sounds as if it's been a mammoth job. I had read that there would be another Lancaster there but unfortunately VeRA couldn't make it. They are aiming for her to be ready for Tuesday. I've been doing a bit of research and I know that she carries a 7 man crew, I know which hangar she is in and even how to start up all of the engines. I'm sure I can find out how to fly her somewhere so, if there are 6 of you who fancy a fly round tomorrow night, let me know.Just noticed you have the same problems with your bird feeder. Tomorrow will only be one week. I'll keep my fingers crossed they don't cancel.
Didn't get a lot os sleep last night. There was chattering next door. I thought it was their 2 boys but in the early hours, I heard a couple of women outside and someone shouting for someone with the same name as my next door neighbour's friend to get in to the car then it drove off. Apparently my next door neighbour and her friend were a lot worse for wear today. I found I had left the window open or I might not have heard. Had a lovely day in the garden though so I'm filled up with vitamin D and feeling happy.Hope everyone has haad a good weekend.

joan xxtake care
joan xx0 -
Have a good time in Blackpool Barbara hope the weather is kind to you.
Having haircut tomorrow I look like a shaggy dog,we are going to the theatre on wed for the matinee ,it's Faulty Towers and it takes place in the restaurant as if you are in the hotel.
Good luck with your app Kath it's next week isn't it ? Mig0 -
Hello everyone, hope all are doing ok. Barbara there will be greaseproof-papered sandwiches for you again tomorrow morning, you know the drill (losing the plot here, seriously
) have a lovely time. See you when you get back if not before. Weather looks good for you.
Hope the ironing & packing is going ok.
Not as nice a day for the garden but it did brighten up late morning so got a little tidying done. Robin flew down to see me at one point and was barely a couple of feet away, not bothered by me at all, poking round the fresh turned over earth. Gorgeous.Plenty of pigeons here, doves too. Dare not get a bird feeder though. Sounds like it was all go round your neighbourhood Saturday night applerose, almost came to handbags & hairpulling did it..
they felt the worse for it yesterday I expect (hic!)
Marrianne hope you got on ok at the bloods nurse today and no repeat of the trouble you had after last time! Buying an xmas present, oh good heavens! I am still in denial that it is Sept! Ah well we may get a decent bit yet, still. Change of bus timetable etc here today so must not fall foul of that next time I go out.
By the way have you all checked your local postboxes, as any that get less use are having a different collection system soon. May mean no normal last collection at such-and-such a time, instead the postman/woman will collect at the same time as they deliver. :?
I have only been to Weston pier joan (that I can remember, probably went to others as a small child) so I was sad when there was the fire as now it will be all different.
Well no maid here either, so I will do some dishes or they will pile up for frog & we can't have that.xx
Hello mig, nearly bumped into you there, have a good haircut and hope the evening out goes as well as when you've been before.0 -
Just a flying visit to say hello and hope everyone is having a good day and enjoying the return of summer.

It is a very nice day here Kath
if it would like to stay just like this, it would be fine by me.
Quiet so I will put the kettle on & potter round. Yesterday's mtx pen seems to have been ok & not had the effect on me of the last oneit is a right jiggery-pokery business though..
Hope everyone not posting is doing ok & that barbara got off to a good start today.
Have been in the garden, it was ideal sunny but not too hot, so tidied up some pots & planted some more salady odds & ends.
Plenty of sandwiches left over from barbara's packed-for-the-journey ones, so if anyone has missed their lunch help yourselves
See you later. xx0 -
Rheumatology rang earlier. They've had a cancellation for 10 am tomorrow, would I like it ? YES YES YES. Phew. So relieved.
