Hello Barbara, Christine, and anyone else I've missed.

Here's proof that I'm feeling better. Spent 4 hours in the garden this morning, clearing out and tidying up. I ache now, but a week ago I wouldn't even have been able to sweep up afterwards. As for the Great North Run - no, not yet, maybe next year.

Thanks Barbara, I could just do with a cuppa after all that work. Cafe is looking spick and span.

Our next door neighbours have moved. It's a privately owned house. The owner has been to do some painting and checking things out. She says she is going to put it in the hands of an agency, but we have seen another neighbour who lives in one of the flats, having a look at it. So we shall have to see what occurs. Whoever gets it, I hope they aren't too noisy. :o

I hope you don't get noisy neighbours Kath. next to us is rented and we do get on with them but at the end of June they started playing music loudly and you all know what happens then! I think somebody got a new record for their birthay  But it has stopped now and even the very noisy lot behind us have been quiet. I'm wondering if their kids have gone off to uni?

Now steroids put me off eating funnily enough, although those ginger biscuits sound lovely. I'm glad you were able to get out and do some gardening/tidying up Kath. The kids desks are coming tomorrow betwween 8 and 11 am and OH has hurt his back (this seems genuine) and he was meant to help get things prepared and also put one desk together! I've been looking after him, if only to show him how people in pain should be treated! It won't hurt the children to do some heavy lifting, my Son is 16 after all!

Did you watch the Great North run on TV Applerose or watch live at the roadside? My Daughter was doing a radio show alongside the run but I couldn't listen as Dan had this laptop. I hope your Dad will be okay. If he's not up for food hopefully it will be temporary as long as he isn't actually feeling hungry.
That was very naughty of your Sister especially as you'd already explained that your D. was coming to stay. I hope these are the nice cousins who attended the wedding so maybe you could send a message that your Sister had got the dates wrong and you couldn't put them up. Otherwise they are going to turn up and feel bad about putting you to so much inconvenience.

Barbara I used to go to art classes at our local library too. I absolutely loved it and only stopped due to the fatigue. You have to be quick to book here as they go months in advance.
I wish their was a save button on AC Forum. We could save our posts as we go.....

IT is another lovely sunny day here and got 3 lots of washing done. I also spent time sewing names into new uniform as everybody had grown so fast and needed yet more new clothes. However my Daughters shoes lasted a day and she came home complaining about them hurting her feet. She had been measured and tried them on in the shop. I don't know whether I can take them back seeing as they have been worn a day?

Lol Toady my Son has an orange wall. Actually I'm going off it and tempted to stick a strip of wallpaper in its place. Its not very restful.

I was totally unsupervised when growing up and went for walks in the countryside from a very young age, not too mention hanging around the woods, racing down hills on go-karts without brakes and doing my gymnastics on concrete!

Ankle is better, I just over did things. So I learnt my lesson. The dreaded fatigue has returned though. Just realised I left letters and forms and needles and scissors on the bed and OH has gone for a lie down!!!!!

    Better go and rescue everything,
    Take care all.
Joan thanks for asking about the ankle. Obviously I mustn't do too much tidying up.

Thought I would pop in again wont be on in the morning my appointment is at 10 30 with the neuro surgeon the same old thing is it the hip or the back ..I still get a lot of pain from this new hip ..so they think most of it must be from the back so I am scared of having the other done and being no better off :o oops sorry about that...
Joan..how is your mouth doing and how is Sue with that ankle..
Kath I am so pleased for you long may it continue..and I hope you get good neighbours its always a worry
Elizabeth..yes you take it easy...let you OH do the house work but if he is anything like mine he try's but..not very good... :) oops sorry just seen he has a bad back ..good thinking you show him how it must be done...I am sure your son will be glad to have a go at the desk and will probably enjoy it :) and feel proud..we were the same when growing up my mum didn't have a clue were we got to... I wounder sometimes how we survived.. :o
I will leave the kettle on for Christine...and hope work went well..
    See you all tomorrow...xxxxxx

Barbara, it is hard not being able to do things but I know there are people who are worse than I am so I am thankful I can still do some things. I'd rather go to classes during the day rather than evening ones. Hope you enjoy the art class.

Glad you're feeling better Kath. You have been busy. Hope the aching isn't too bad. Maybe we could get a team together for the GNR for next year. It's always a worry when you get new neighbours. Not knowing what they'll be like.

Hope you've managed to spend some time in the sun today Joan.

Elizabeth, I hope your neighbours have realised how wrong it is to make so much noise. Either that or they have moved on as you say. Sorry your OH has hurt his back but I'm sure the kids will manage with the desks. I watched the run on tv. It's too far to go, especially as I'd only see a small part of it. Was your daughter commentating on the run? My cousins are lovely. They said they will come any time and don't mind where they sleep. What a great idea to have a save button. I've timed out a few times and sometimes I've posted before I'd finished just in case. The shop I used to buy the kids shoes in allowed us to take back shoes if they hurt the kids feet after wearing them outside. It might be worth asking them. Shoes are far too expensive. I'm wondering if your OH moved the scissors etc before he lay down or just left them like a man would.

My sister phoned the doctor out to my dad at lunchtime. He arrived around 2pm and said dad had to go in to hospital for a few days. An ambulance was ordered to take him but it hadn't turned up by 8pm so my sister took my dad by taxi. No idea how long she'll be there with him. Don't know what the ambulance service is like in your areas but it's terrible here. They don't seem to have enough. I've heard of a few times when someone with a broken leg or suspected heart attack has been told to make their own way to hospital as there isn't an ambulance available.

    Afternoon all
Just back for my appointment he was a very nice Irishman..a neuro surgeon..he said the only way forward might be surgery to release the pressure of my spinal cord...he explained everything and said if it goes well and most do it can help but sometimes it can go wrong and I could be worse off..suppose they have to tell you this,I said could I have time to make my mind up and he said that is what I should do give it some thought..so I will get another appointment in5 to 6 months or I can ring them ...might have the hip done first...
Christine I am sorry your dad is still poorly and the ambulance not coming is awful..dear me can you imagine if he had no one to take him ... I do hope they can find out what is wrong and wish him a full recovery...
I hope you all have this glorious sunshine...not seen Toady hope you are just having a break...
    Will see you all later..xxxxxx

    Hello Christine, Barbara, Elizabeth, Joan.

Another lovely day here, hope all are feeling not too bad.

I'm going to bore you now - sorry :) but today I received my copy of the letter my rheumy sent to my GP. It proves rather interesting reading. As it's a very long letter, I will just pick out the part that interested me most:

"Kathleen's condition suggests a relapse of her disease with probably Vasculitic complications that are presenting as skin lesions......
....Discussed I need to get clearance from the breast team to either consider restart Methotrexate or other DMARDS/Biologics."

I can't wait to find out the results of the Vascilitis test, and to find out what other drug - if not Methotrexate - she will decide on after Oncologist's advice. I just want my scabby legs to get better.

Barbara, what a worry. Although 6 months is quite a while and if things get worse (heaven forbid) you might consider the risks to be worth it.

Christine, sorry to hear of your dad's latest problem. I think the ambulance service is the same everywhere. Although when I rang them back in April, they only took 2 hours. Mind you I did have a temperature of 38.7.

Elizabeth, I'm glad your ankle is now better.

Joan, hope all is well with you and yours.

Oh dear, I've just eaten a walnut whip. And this one had calories, unlike cafe food.

Barbara, they do have to tell you the worst case scenario to cover themselves. Doesn't usually come to that though or they wouldn't offer it. I'd need a while to think about it too but I'm sure you'll make the right decision.

Kath, that is rather interesting, isn't it? Hope they make a decision and get your medication sorted soon.

Good to hear Sue's ankle is getting better Joan. Not such good news about your mouth though.

My sister didn't leave the hospital till 2 this morning. They still hadn't finished doing the tests but told her to go and get some sleep. Apparently, he has a kidney infection and his kidneys are damaged. They have put him on antibios and are hoping that will be enough. If not, they'll need a rethink. He has eaten a bowl of porridge and a bowl of ice cream today so that's an improvement and he should be home in a couple of days. Thanks for asking after him.

Theres been a feeding frenzy in our garden this morning three starlings fighting for first in line on the fat block ,blue tits quietly pecking the peanuts,a robin and a sparrow on the seed hanger and a collared dove picking up of the grass what the others have dropped,i knew the bird book would come in handy.Mig

Mig, is there any other way to eat a walnut whip other than to bite the walnut off then lick the cream out then nibble the chocolate till it's all gone. Sounds lovely in your garden with all the birds. I don't have many coming in at the moment. Haven't fed them since the babies left but will again as it gets colder.

Yes Barbara, you did mention about the kidneys. Could be the same with my dad. We still don't know yet. He is still the same. Had porridge and ice cream yesterday but not a thing today. I managed to make him have a couple of sips of coke while I was there and he'd had half a cup of tea. The nurses are pestering him to eat and drink but he's having none of it. I was at the hospital for 2 hours and he slept most of that. The physio I went to is based at the hospital so I made sure I sat up properly just in case he was around. Another physio came in to help a man practice walking. Did you manage to get any jobs done today?

Just been watching some of the cosmonauts from the International Space Station getting in to the Soyuz ship ready to head home in a few hours. There is live streaming again just before 11pm when the undock and again a few hours later when they land on Earth. Not sure I can stay awake for the undocking and will definitely be fast asleep after that.

We have one GD coming today..the eldest one she has a dental apportionment so GD will be taking her...

Oh mig, how lovely. I love the birdies but they don't seem to like me - except for wood pigeons, starlings and the occasional magpie. :( We do hear a robin every morning in the trees surrounding our garden, and any number of the tit family - but they don't come down to the feeders. We have had lots of swans, geese and ducks flying over to the local lake though. When I could ride a bike, we would be regular visitors to said lake, and a stream nearby where we watched a tree creeper searching for insects. Lovely. Can't manage it any more. :(

    Hope all are feeling well.

Hello everybody.. still here, just running behind.. can't quite understand how the time goes so quick while getting so little done.. :? days seem to be zipping by at the moment. Back soon for a proper sit down and a cuppa. :) Maybe a walnut whip if there are still any around (have you noticed they are not the same as they used to be, like most things... they used to have that piped-chocolate whippy effect, sort of uneven as if it had been piped like you would by hand, now it's much more even. Not that that has a lot of bearing on anything vital  the whippy bit isn't the same either come to that).

Anyway look forward to seeing you all (popping in & reading on my phone so I know what's what), my best to applerose with her dad in hospital & love to everyone. xx

Barbara, I saw the cosmonauts saying goodbye to each other but couldn't stay up to see the undocking. Think they landed on Earth in the early hours so missed that too. The frogs could be left over from when you had your pond. I find my frogs round the garden hiding more than I see them in the pond. Just read your sad news. I remember the name Trish but didn't get to know her.

Kath, that must be lovely to see the swans, geese and ducks flying over.

Joan, I think the pigeons do scare off all the other birds. I usually chase them while I feed the others.

Toady, I don't know where the time goes. Days run in to days and weeks in to weeks. It's a bit scary.

Hello Snowball. Pleased to meet you. Thank you for the sponge and custard.

My sister has been to see dad and he is just the same. Still on the drip so hopefully that's helping him to feel a bit better. She thinks he has had something to eat but there's nothing in his notes to say he has. I'm going again on Saturday.

Good news that Lucy and Toni are back home.

Hello Snowball, lovely to see you. Very sad to hear about Trisher. she had a long hard struggle for many years. I had some nice conversations with her over the years as she always concerned for others. I'm so sad for her family.

Hopfully I'll pop in again soon, I've just been taking it easy today. :P
