Hello all,
Hope all this rain isn't causing too much pain for some of you.
Rain, rain, go away
Causing pain with our RA.
Stop your pouring, leave the sky
Don't you know you make us cry???
Other forms of arthritis also available. :?
I'll just have a coffee and a cheese and onion roll I found in the 'fridge. Also might have a slice of jam/cram swiss roll.
Incidentally, years ago you used to be able to buy swiss tarts. I haven't seen any for years and when I ask, I usually get a Bakewell Tart. Swiss tarts were flat, and inside they had currants and the filling was different to Bakewells. How I miss them."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hi Coco. Good to see you back. Must have been lovely to have your daughter home from uni. bet you miss her terribly. Hope your other daughter and your son find the one they want.
Toady, I've found a toy kitchen, a bit more than I want to pay but the cheaper ones are not very sturdy. Sent a link to my son and he said he'd seen a shopping trolley my GD would like. :roll:It seems even people who can only afford to buy second hand furniture only want the best too. Gone are the times when people make do.
Elizabeth, my son has already bought the X-box but thank you for keeping an eye open. They decided to buy it it now to make sure they got one. They are not giving my GS it till Xmas as they want him to save up and pay for some of it. I found a wooden kitchen online (think Arg*s do it) but my son is now talking about a shopping trolley. I think he's probably trying to keep the price down for me. Where did you see the kitchens, please? I think I'll still get one. Mango eating the decorations? Hope not.
Mig, hope you enjoyed Chatsworth and the Xmas fair.
Toni, I'm like that sometimes with books. I want to find out what happens but don't want to finish it. I'm reading a strange one at the moment. It's about a girl who used to have an imaginary friend when she was a child. After a car accident which badly burned her and killed her husband, her imaginary friend comes back to help her. Hmmm, interesting about the mad half hour being hunting time. Never thought of that. Glad Lucy has enjoyed her weekend with her friends.
Joan, hope you don't have any more problems with you computer.
Barbara, it's not so much my GC changing their minds as my son saying the baby wants a kitchen then, when I find one, he says a shopping trolley would be better.Yes, Mango is very much at home now. He lies beside me with his head on my laptop. I have to watch he doesn't dribble.
Kath, love the poem. Wish it would work. Don't think I've heard of a Swiss tart. Sound nice.
Managed to get lots of tidying done today and had a long walk with Mango. I've started looking at Xmas recipes and cutting them out of magazines. Chances are that's as far as it'll go.Christine0 -
the Great Little Trading co do toy K*tchens and have one in the sale with 20% off (still not cheap)! Just realised we've been able to post that K word!
Glad the x box is sorted. I have to look for ideas for the kids so it was no problem just sometimes a bargain does come up and has to be grabbed quick. My boy is happy with his PS3 so its just games that are needed and none of them like the war/shoot/racing games.
Think it will be books for me! Toni glad you've found a book you can't put down. Reading is great, relaxing and keeps the brain ticking over. thanks for the hug.
So glad you are about Coco. I see you online sometimes but know you suffer from fatigue amongst other things and You have a lot on your plate with all the uni visits and forms. It must take it out of you.
still haven't got batteries. OH keeps forgetting so I'll end up buying from an expensive shop which will cause a row. But what can I do? i must be prepared really.
sorry not going to stop....laptop is not plugged in and I really only popped over to tell Christine about the K.
Apologies for missing replies to some of you....will catch up later

i should be around a bit more as I've changed my phone and can get in here on it which is more than i could do with my old one, it was lovely having my daughter home, it has been a tough time here your right elizabeth, this time of year is always hard what with fireworks and remembrance day but we got through it, just have to get through the next hurdle now, awaiting a hospital appointment as the dr is sure i have skin cancer of some sort, another thing to add to the list i suppose. anyway will worry about it when i know for sure what it is and whats to be done. so please any of you have any strange lumps, spots that don't heal or something that don't look right get it checked out,
hi Tony i hope all is ok your end i have a lot to catch up on, and everyone else xxx
going to put the kettle on xx0 -
Thank you Elizabeth. I've had a look. There are some lovely ones but are too expensive. Hope you get the batteries you need.
Just watching the 2 astronauts and a cosmonaut being launched in a Soyuz to the International Space Station. They will be there for 6 months. I often see it fly over. Better go, only 2 minutes till take off.Christine0 -
Good morning all. Boy is it cold outside. Hope everyone is ok. Have a good day. Don't know what im up to today but i have to say a day on the sofa with a blanket is sounding tempting.0

Morning all ,Chatsworth was lovely but very busy and muddy ,nice drive there and back, can't believe its nearly a year since middle son passed his driving test.We stopped at a mill thats been changed into a shopping outlet on the way back ,is it me or are these places expensive ? we had something to eat there it was acceptable but not very exciting. Mig0

Morning all
still got gd and friend , think she is ging home to London tomorrow, friend I mean
kath I love the poem, you are clever I have a book of poems that my lare brother wrote..not published. ? A diary I mean
Coco we will be with you on the appointment, and good luck with it...you are right kids are far more expensive when they get older..and now my grandchildren are growing up
Elizabeth hope you have got the batteries and have a restful day
Christine, I was going to say Arg#s has 20% off toys. ? I hope I have that right :? I have decided to buy the baby clothes, she and her sister have loads of toys,, and shes only 2
it is cloudy here, but dry so that will do, I have to buy oh somting for his Chritmas eve birday and Christmas..why are men so hard to buy for..
see you all later..hope Coco can have her duvet day..xxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Oh yes toys are expensive. I did see quite a few K's at all different prices you couldn't tell from the pics what they were made of. Have you thought about a 2nd hand one as children grow out of things so quickly? I had a small table, chair and easel which I was going to advertise but OH knicked the chair and table for his garage.
I'm thinking of buying the hudl2 as a surprise.
coco I hope the GP is just being cautious. I have a mole on my face which has grown from nothing really so I should get it checked but fed up with hospitals etc.
It is nice Barbara but still cold. Men are hard to buy for so I usually let the OH choose for himself. I often buy clothes then change my mind and hide it away only to give to him months later! Stocking up on pants , socks and slippers is the usual  but saves him wearing everything to death.
Yep those places are expensive Mig.
Got the first Christmas bonus today, for my youngest Son. Thought it was something awful from the DWP!
hope you are all well today.

Hello everyone, hope it is as sunny where you are as it is here - although very cold. I have to admit, I much prefer this type of weather. Think I'll take my coffee and cake over to the window as it's quite warm in that sun.
Joan, so glad Sue is no longer in pain now the catheter has been removed.
Barbara, I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas display.
Coco, a duvet day does sound tempting, but I'm wearing my new fleecy top over my jumper and vest, so feeling quite snug. Also wearing my long socks and Jeggings (like leggings, but made of denim). Hope your cancer tests prove negative. :?
I'll just top up my coffee before deciding what to do next."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Just popped in to let you know that I can hear again, so shhh!
The nurse didn't use the instrument I saw in the video, they only use that in hospital ENT departments and have to be trained. I had it syringed - and no maggots. :? I also had a blood test for Rheumy.
Hope all are ok today. xx"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Such good news Kathleen! How encouraging that you didn't have to undergo anything too drastic.
I forgot about my blue badge application! So just gone online and my Son took my photograph and downloaded it for me. Stupidly you have to send in the supporting documents and a cheque by post ,which makes an online application a bit pointless if you ask me. Might as well do it all by post.
The girls will have had a great time at the display Barbara. there are a few up coming Christmas fayres this weekend.
It is quite warm and even opened a few windows today. I've had a lovely rest, followed by a shower and put on some make-up (for the photo). Son will be home in an hour but I'm feeling refreshed.
I'm glad Sue is okay now, it was a training nurse who took mine out
My cursor is jumping all over the place.
Take care all, hope you've all had a rest of some sort

Haven't been able to sign in for a couple of days so hoping to catch up.
Coco, did you have a day on the sofa? Hope you kept warm.
Mig, glad you enjoyed Chatsworth. I think those sort of outlets are expensive too.
Elizabeth, I have ordered the kitchen along with a kitchen set of pots and pans, crockery and cutlery and a set of food. The kitchen was in a sale and the other things were reasonably priced. I've been to have moles checked a few times but nothing's been of any worry. I've often wondered why they ask you to apply for things online and then ask you to post them.
Joan, poor Sue being in so much pain. It must have been so worrying for you too. Hope she is ok now.
Barbara, hope you all enjoyed the Xmas display. My joints don't like the cold. They get quite painful so I need to wrap up with gloves and scarf but leave my jacket open as the rest of me gets too hot.
Kath, it's been very cloudy and dull and drizzly here as well as freezing. I'd rather it snowed than this. I'm ok when I'm out and about but I wear my fleecy socks when I get home. Oh, sorry, am I talking too loudly. Glad you can hear again. And that there were no maggots.
I think I'm getting somewhere now with the Xmas shopping.
My daughter now has a house to rent in Oz. They are moving in on Friday. She has asked if I would be willing to take the dog on the train to Heathrow when it's time for him to go. I think it'll take me most of the day and I'd have to stay overnight. Hoping there's an alternative.
My sister has said she'll have dad at her house for Xmas dinner and we'll all try to visit him on Boxing Day.
I was at the dentist today. I need to have a broken tooth capped. She also took an x-ray of another tooth and said the bone has crumbled away so there is nothing for the gum there to attach to. She told me they would give it a good clean regularly with it numbed but that's all they can do to slow it down. The tooth and possibly the ones next to it will eventually become loose.Christine0 -
evening all, not read back yet so forgive me, just a quick visit as I'm shattered, drove all the way to northampton and back in the past 24hrs, daughter had an interview at the uni, not long got in so going to put my feet up and will be back in the morning, hope everyone is ok, xxx0
