    Good Morning everyone :)

Sunny here, but I can see the wind blowing and Daisycat didn't stay out long :?

Mig - we'll miss you when you go to Lake Como, but you have a good time :)

Joan it is looking nasty out there to me, but no ice or snow. You be careful. Hope you and Sue and the doggies are all doing ok?

Elizabeth thank you for thinking of Charley's second interview...she's still to book it online when it's ready. I'll keep you up to date. She'd make a great paramedic - she's strong and capable and reassuring to be around. I am busy with the 'do', but it's making me feel good too that we can put money back into the coffers for anyone else in future.

I don't know if you'd be interested, but Teenage Cancer Trust do talks to schools about the warning signs??? They're going to come to Lucy's school and do a talk there.

Like you I would bin the macaroni cheese. A waste of money (poor your Lucy too - though I know he won't go without :) ), the warranty had jolly well better cover you for loss of food

Rest up when you can xx

    Barbara
I woke to glorious sunshine too, but it's gone in now and I can see and hear the wind from in here.

'Parky' is such a quaint word isn't it? I rather like it :)

I wish kids earned more for the work they do - it's just like the old YT schemes and probably the way it's always been. at least we've stopped sending them up the chimneys now  The thing I think is disgusting is that the NMWage doesn't go up to the proper level till they're 21!!!

Some will have left home by then! Mind you if they go to University and you have to contribute towards their costs you have to do it till they're 23!!!

I thought they were 'adults' at 18 too

I do hope your ear/head feels a bit better today :( Ears noses and throats are all linked aren't they? ((())) Posting at the same time there so I know you are even rougher today :( The docs tomorrow for you!!

Rightyho better roll my sleeves up!

Not to bad in here I'll just mop the floor

Toady, I've been able to eat off a plate since I dropped my dinner but the lost potato has never turned up. :? I'm sure there were 3. I can count that far. Glad you found the book you wanted.

Toni, I don't blame you not leaving the house. I have, only to go to work and to take the dog out otherwise I would have stayed in. You're very busy at the moment with the charity do. What a wonderful thing to do. I agree that if they are adults at 18 then they should be paid as adults. It's very unfair to make them work for less. Thanks for cleaning the windows in here. I can sit and look out now with my cuppa and toast with marmalade.

Joan, I hope the snow didn't stay and you and Sue aren't cold.

Barbara, sounds as if you are enjoying your new laptop. What a difference it'll make being able to put the spaces in as you type. How awful having a headache and earache. Hope it clears up. Make sure you see your GP as soon as possible if it's not gone by tomorrow.

Elizabeth, good for you having a lie in. You need your rest. Glad your cough has gone. That must have tired you. My rheumie said he didn't know why I was feeling fatigued and suggested I see my GP. My GP had bloods done and they came back ok so no idea why I feel it. I do have a couple of broken nights' sleep but, even if I'm sleeping 9 hours I feel tired. Have you checked your socks? Washing machines often get blamed for missing socks. Maybe that's why your machine was clogged. How annoying doing all that cooking for the freezer just to have it defrost. Hope they send you a new one soon. Mango used to love chasing the snow when it was kicked. Doesn't seem bothered now. He didn't like being out in the snowstorm when we got caught last week though. He does like having a towel over him and being rubbed down when he comes in wet.

Hi Mig. I'll go and check your post about your new trip. Have a great trip.

Dad seems to be even more settled in the home. Still talking about getting out but he and his friend have started playing dominoes. They are going to play against one of the other homes for a trophy. We had heavy sleet yesterday morning so I decided to stay in. The sun came out at lunchtime and cleared the snow so Mango and I went for a walk and I risked letting him off the lead again for a run which he enjoyed. I enjoyed watching him too. Sorted out the dining room cupboards and found a phone book from 2012 and a couple of Arg*s catalogues from the last few years. :?

Hello all, hope you are having a good weekend. Weather here not too bad today, keeps going dull then sunny again. Still very cold though.

Barbara, sorry to hear you too are suffering from sinus problems. The head pain is awful isn't it. I had two nose bleeds in the night, and two more this morning. :?

Toni, hope the MTX is helping Lucy more than mine is helping me. :? I expect she is on a much higher dose than I am though. Hope her side effects aren't too bad either.

Christine, I would be very happy if they increase my steroids, but I'm not holding my breath. Hope they don't suggest any more methylpred infusions. The last lot didn't make any difference at all, so I will tell them that if the subject comes up. :( I enjoyed reading the conversation between your boss and his mum. Made perfect sense to me.

Fancy a leek and potato soup with some crackers, anybody else want some while I'm at it?

Afternoon everyone, hope most of you are as well as can be expected.

Barbara, ditto - I keep getting nose bleeds and blood mixed in my mucous. Bad headaches, so not feeling too good. Don't think It's infected though as there's no nasty smell or colours in there. Although I get nose drip which makes me cough. Just can't keep my eyes open.

Oh no Joan, hope you get your heating fixed quickly. :?

Oddly I slept quite well last night. Woke once for the bathroom, with pain in my spine and hips, but no itching, although I did have some soreness.

Think I'll help myself to some mulled wine to warm up me cockles. No, I'm not being rude.  I'll leave some handy for anyone else who needs it.

Kath, are you still having nose bleeds? Hope they stop soon. And the headaches. I love mulled wine. I'll have a glass please.

Coco, don't blame you curling up with a quilt. Best place in this weather.

Joan, hope they were quick coming to fix your heating. Brrrr!

Barbara, I'm glad you went to your GP. Hope the spray and ABs kick in soon for you.

Apparently it's snowing a few miles away. Hope it doesn't get any closer. I want to get the bus to T*sc* tomorrow but not if there's much snow.

It's snowing here,it's that fine grainy snow that settles quickly.
    Sausage and mash today.
My cousin who is 51 is getting married for the first time in May, the lady he's marrying has 6 grown up children and grandchildren who all adore him.The wedding is taking place in Sherwood Forest, they have requested no posh frocks or fancy hats smart casual in shades of green ,it's going to be so cool.

I had a bad night last night. I woke up with a horrible lump in my throat and so I had to prop up my pillows and sit upright. It did settle after much coughing, drinking water and a few trips to the bathroom. then I had a nice, calm feeling and slept for the next hour and a half.

But now I must go back to bed so will fill up my hot water bottles, put on the 2nd wash load and catch up.

We had some snow here and it has settled on the roof tops and trees but the roads are clear.

My Lucy has had a lot of time off school, including yesterday, and often complains of sickness and headaches but I sent her back in today and she was really angry with me. Its just that she was playing on her desktop and giggling so seemed fine. She told me she didn't like me :(

That sounds like the perfect wedding Mig. somebody I know is retaking her vows but she's buying another wedding dress and doing the full works-I don't understand that, it seems daft to me,not the retaking of the vows bit but all the dress, rings etc.and expense.

Both funerals have been arranged for the same day, Feb 9th. I knew that would happen. they are hundreds of miles apart so I can't do both.

Toni it was only about £20 worth of food but I know my OH will say I'm worrying about nothing so a battle about chucking it lays ahead. Still looking for the warranty paperwork but haven't had a thorough good look.

Okay hoping everybody is coping with this cold. Coco I doubt you have managed to get any sleep but I've got my fingers crossed for you.

    Take care all

Hello everyone who is in. No snow here, not even much rain. But it's really cold.

I've just re-read my last post. Can't remember typing it up. Where is my head? s065.gif

Joan, I can't believe you are STILL waiting for your heating to be fixed. Thank goodness you have heaters.

mig, I can't think of a more romantic setting for a wedding. How lovely that his bride's children adore him. :D

Christine, haven't had another nose bleed, but still have a very blocked nose and some head pains from sinuses. My eyes are watery too, in spite of the fact that they are usually dry because of Sjogren's. Woke up at 2am coughing because of nose drip. s010.gif

Elizabeth, it's awful when you get that 'lumpy' sensation in your throat. I usually take a swig of Simple Linctus to try and shift it .

Well, I'm waiting on my prescription again. They said it should arrive today (I have it delivered). Hope it's no later than tomorrow as I only have 3 days Prednisolone left. :?

Mig, we only had a tiny sprinkling of snow which didn't last long. I had sausage and mash for tea. Yum. Sounds as if your cousin has found the right person there. I think the wedding will be wonderful.

Elizabeth, don't worry yourself about what Lucy said. I remember my kids telling me they hated me when they didn't get their own way. Hope you have a better night tonight.

Barbara, you sound in a bad way. Hope it doesn't last long. We only had a light sprinkling of snow here. All gone by lunchtime. It was freezing though. I've been wondering if Mango had the potato. He's not saying anything though. Hope the joiner didn't take too long with the door open.

Joan, that is way too long to wait for your heating to be fixed. You did right getting the radio involved. Hope you get some compensation to pay for having the heaters on.

Kath, I've had a slight nose drip for a lot of years so know how annoying it can be. Glad you haven't had any more nose bleeds but the pain sounds still bad. What a terrible time people have getting prescriptions delivered.

I've been to Tesco today and came back a bit irritated. Just as I was going through the checkout, the shop filled with teenagers coming out from school. One of them put his sweets on the checkout before I'd finished packing and sighed because he had to wait a second. On the bus on the way home, a couple of students got their tickets and threw them straight on the floor. There was an empty cooked chicken wrapper on the floor. Then the bus driver went past my stop when I had rang the bell so I had to shout for him to stop. Don't you find that when one thing annoys you, everything does. I took Mango out for a walk when I got home and let him off the lead to run round in circles like a whippet. That cheered me up again. :D

    Hello all
Joan I hope they do fix that heating..that is awful having to wait so long in this weather
Kath..hope that headache has eased for you..and you have got your prescription..and have our sunshine...
Christine I hate to see people throwing rubbish on the floor..they have just stated fining them here but they dont catch everyone...we have a store nearby and we dont go when the schools are coming out..they all queue up with fizzy drink sand sweets..I know what you mean about getting annoyed..it does get to you when the young ones dont have the patience..I find they just want to get past me because I am slow.. glad you enjoyed the walk with mango..when does he go home..oris he there permanent..
The ABs have not kicked in yet he did say it might take more than one course..and I don't like taking them not with the super bugs around  we have had lovey weather sunny and cold but got quite warm in the back garden..no I wasnt sun bathing..

I have managed to get out of bed but that is because I needed to do a 'shop' so have pottered round Waitrose and grabbed lots of goodies, not much for the freezer but lunches and 24 cadbury creme eggs.

I have to say Lucy did upset me saying she didn't like me. I know she already disapproves of my weight and my clothes (I never buy anything for myself nowadays).

Sorry you are suffering so much Barbara. Not sure how you can make it all go away apart from antib's and maybe a hot water bottle will be just as good as cold items?
Have you heard anymore about Hubby's van?
Lucy does swing it a bit but she was ill over the weekend, hardly eating and sleeping during the day but I felt after Monday when she had the day off but went on her desktop later and was talking and giggling fine I though she should go back.

    Did your prescription arrive Kath?

Poor Joan with no heating and good for you getting the radio involved. hope it all gets fixed tomorrow as promised.

I wonder if Mango did eat the missing potato. sounds like a good idea.

Tomorrow I shall be visiting Daniels school for a teacher meeting. He has the day off so he can have a lie in, unfortunately I'll need to get the other 2 up.

    love to all.....

Hello everyone, hope all those feeling ill are a bit better today. It's nice to see the sunshine, even though it is freezing.

Joan, I've just been to look at your photo. I'm glad to see you are wrapped up warm. Hope you are getting lots of hot drinks and soups inside you too. Roll on tomorrow. I hope the heating gets back on again pronto.

Elizabeth, I got a phone call at about 5pm from the pharmacy. The suppliers had sent the wrong stuff, so they had to reorder. They rang to let me know they would deliver it today and yes, it is now here. :)

Barbara, head is better at the moment thank you. Still a bit bunged up though. Thank goodness for Ol**s Oil. Wish there was a smiley with a tissue under its nose. So will make do with this one instead.

Just had some chicken and vegetable soup with croutons. :D

Barbara, Mango is due his next rabies jab at the end of April. He can fly to Oz straight after. The company have suggested he flies from Heathrow because it is a straight flight but he can go from Edinburgh and stop in Dubai for a break. My daughter's not sure which to do. I don't blame you not liking to take the ABs but you need to get better. Hope the one lot works. So you didn't quite get your bikini out then?

Elizabeth, I do like a creme egg myself. Don't let Lucy upset you. That's just teenagers for you. Hope you manage a good night's sleep tonight before the teacher meeting.

Joan, thank you for taking so much time to share your photo. It's good to put faces to names. Hope your heating does get fixed tomorrow. They should be ashamed of themselves taking so long.

Kath, glad your prescription has finally arrived. Wouldn't you think they would double check before they send it.

Very icy and slippy here this morning so I took the bus to the High Street as I thought I might slide all the way down the hill. Walked from the High Street to the road where I work and crossed the road. The pavement was sloped but I managed to walk up but then slid back down again. Couldn't stop myself. I stood for a minute just giggling before walking further down the road then stepping up. Thank goodness it was gone at home time.

I needed a funny birthday card in a hurry so as I was passing B*yes, I popped in there. The ones they had weren't very good. One started 'Did you here about .........' Yes, it said 'here' and not 'hear'. And it wasn't part of the joke. I did wonder how many people must have seen it between it being made and being put on the shelf.

Hello everyone, dull here too, and we've had a few drops of rain. At least no snow.

Barbara, I only seem to get the bad head pains towards evening. Got a bit of a headache grumbling in the background. Sorry to hear you are still suffering though. Hope the headache clears off soon. :(

Christine, double check!! Don't be daft!! It could have been the pharmacy passing the buck so to speak. Still, as you say, I got them in the end.

News item from yesterday. Someone died at our local railway station. Got hit by a train. No details as yet, but it's probably a suicide. We get quite a lot of that on our station. It is quite high up with a bridge over the road, so no crossings, if there were it could have been an accident. But when the London train goes straight through, people leap in front of it as it rushes along. Glad we don't catch trains any more, wouldn't want to see that happen. :o Mind you, there are quite a few drunks who fall off the platform and under a train.

Need something soothing to calm me down now, hot chocolate I think, orange flavoured.

Barbara, thank goodness your swollen face has gone down. Just hope the headache goes too. Mango howls when I talk to my daughter on Skype so he'll probably do the same with me. Did your GD get her brace fitted? I think they nearly all get one now.

Kath, how awful for someone to be killed by a train. We sometimes have people jump in our river. It's so sad isn't it when they do it deliberately.

I managed to fit a vent to the bottom of my front door today to hide the hole my son's dog made when I was looking after him when they went on holiday in the summer. Also fitted a new toilet seat. Took me quite a while but I feel quite pleased with myself. :D Latest spelling mistake I saw today - The weather is karma. It was on Sky news of all things. On the subtitles.
