Barbara, I love Peppa Pig myself. I heard on the news about the old lady having her things taken. I didn't know about people taking pictures for Facebook. That is terrible. Her poor family. Hope you got your door done ok.

Kath, glad your appointment went well. Hope that's what you wanted with your meds. 5 lbs isn't too much to put on. I lost half a stone last Xmas because I was ill but put most of it back on this year.

Hope you have a good week Joan.

Toni, it sounds as if Lucy eats very well at the moment. Don't think I could eat all that but thick buttered toast sounds lovely.

Well I was late for work today because I slept in then I had to finish early as I thought I was going to fall asleep. Wish I could shake this tiredness. The dreaded painter is painting a bedroom where I work. Turned up at 10.30 and immediately had a half hour break. Worked for half an hour then went out for 2 hours. Came back and had his lunch break. Finally painted half of the skirting board.

    Morning all..it cloudy here..but doesn't feel cold..
Christine ..yes someone posted pics on face book...it such a shame that people do this.my niece said the pics are still circulating.. :(
Sorry you was late for work..tiredness is awful to deal with..maybe you need a tonic of some kind..showing my age now...or blood test to see if deficient in some vitamin..
I remember the painter...from last time..you would think they had noticed how long it was taking him to do a job..or if money is no object..they dont mind..
Yes I got the undercoat on the door..now its waiting for the rest.. its cost more for the pain then the door did..
Today we are off out..just for the exercise really..not a clue were we will end up..
Will get the kettle on and have a think...
    Love

Hello everyone, hope today is a better day for those who are suffering.

Joan, I hope you and Sue have been thoroughly thawed out now, so glad you have heating again. :D

Barbara, hope you enjoy your walk. The destination won't matter, as long as you are wrapped up warm, the fresh air and exercise should do you good. :)

Christine, I'm happy with the decision on my treatment. The Vasculitis made me lose half a stone too, and I thought I was doing well. So now I'm almost back where I started.

Toni, I remember taking Dexamethasone. My treatment was on a Thursday, and I took 4 a day on Friday-Sunday. Felt quite good. Then Monday came the drop in energy and Tuesday - felt totally rubbish until Saturday. Tuesday used to be A**a day, so I still associate shopping there with feeling very bleugh. Even now it comes over me a bit. :? Love your little poem about Lucy. :)

Started taking some non branded de-decongestants. Seemed to help my sinuses last night. Supposed to take 4 a day, but I'm just taking 2 to make them last longer. I'll keep you posted.

Barbara, I'm feeling a bit better today, thank goodness. Don't now how the painter gets paid. If it's for the job, I'd have thought he'd be getting on with it. If it's by the hour, it's costing my a lot of money but guess it's up to him. The painter reckons it takes him 3 days to sand down 1 room. I'd have it sanded, undercoated and top coated in that time. Well I would have done at one time. Maybe not now. Isn't paint expensive now? I'm not surprised it's costing you more than the door. Hope you had a good day out.

Joan, thanks. Today has been better than yesterday. Hope you are having a good week.

Kath, glad the decongestants are helping. Seems the 2 might be the right amount.

What a lovely day it has been today. The sun shone all day. Hope you all got some.

Joan hope you and Sue are ok and no more probs...
Christine..glad you are feeling a little better..especially has you have to work..yes I remember well sanding down and painting..and decorating come to that...the door cost £12 just a pine internal one and all the paint is coming to 18...I did get the gloss cheaper at wilkies..never going to B&* again
l love the valentine smiles... :D :jheart: :valentineheart: ..cheered me up..right I am going to attempt the painting...

Hello Joan, Barbara, Christine, and anyone else who is around somewhere.

Barbara, I've sent you a PM. Hope you manage to find a brand that works, but isn't too expensive. :)

Christine, no sun here again. Thick cloud and we might get rain over the next two days. :loverain:

Bought myself a couple of pairs of leggings from A**a today. I love leggings, also have some Jeggings, but the leggings are a bit softer and stretchy on my poor old spotty pins. And they look better tucked into my boots.

I've downloaded and printed out a BP chart, so I can keep a record for my consultant. Currently quite high. Monday was 150/108, pulse 110, yesterday was 153/91 pulse 101. Got to get that bottom number down to 85 or below. Shall leave it a couple of days before I do it again or I'll get paranoid :!:

OH has just made me a chicken and leek cuppa soup, so I'm off for a slurp. :P

Barbara, I'm wondering. Do you think the paint fumes are making you feel worse? Have you made an appointment with your GP?

Kath, I've got some jeggings which I wear sometimes and some leggings which I only ear in the house. Can't get used to the idea of wearing them out. Maybe because I wore them all the time last time round. Maybe best not to do your BP every day. It'll be a bit like weighing yourself every day. Hope you enjoyed your cup-a-soup.

Hi Mig. Sounds wonderful. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Got to work this morning and started getting flashing lights in my left eye. It happened to my right eye a few months ago and I was told the gel in my eyeball had shrunk. The optician wants to examine my eyes tomorrow to make sure it isn't something else causing it.

Hope the others are ok. :jheart:

Just off to watch Wolf Hall. Popped in to say I feel really good at the moment for a change. I had to go to a parent meeting for my eldest Son so took a couple of painkillers before I went so wonder if they helped me feel better all round.

Sorry haven't read back yet. I hope everybody is feeling well.

Elizabeth, glad you are feeling better. The painkillers might have helped. I feel better when I take them.

Barbara, hope the ABs help more than the last ones. Sometimes a walk-in clinic works better than appointments. Wish they had it at our health centre. I've been told to use oil in my ears every now and again as they get blocked quite often. Doctors always seem to say different, don't they?

Joan, still not too cold here. Hope it's not too bad for you.

I spent 2 1/2 hours at the optician today having tests done. Had to have drops in my left eye which dilated my pupil. I popped to the bank while I was waiting for them to take affect. It was a bit weird as that eye seemed wide open and I could see well through it and the other eye felt as if it was closing. Don't know what the girl in the bank must have thought with my funny eyes. I had the eye pressure test done before and after the drops. The pressure had shot up so the optician was a bit worried and asked me to go back after work to have it done again. Thank goodness it had gone back down again. Saved me a trip to the hospital. Anyway, she said that the eye gel had shrunk the same as the right eye did last June. Can't do anything about it so I'll have to put up with flashing lights, wavy lines and dots floating about. I got used to it last time so guess I will this time.

Hello folks, me again :D nice smell of paint from barbara and by proxy from applerose's boss's snails pace decorator. Good job he wasn't doing the Sistine Chapel. (Sorry if it's aggravating your sinuses though barbara, & hope the ABs sort it out, how horrid to have your head bothered. :( )
I used to watch property programmes thinking it looks so nice when houses are empty or half-finished, still being plastered etc. Thought it was because, as they say, it gives you that nice blank canvas feeling of what you would do with it; but it's dawned on me now I actually just like the emptiness, for itself. I am aiming for that look here now, may as well, with all that needs doing; finish taking up the carpets & wallpaper &c, & leave it that way. Let's face it, Nature's always trying to get our tidy little homes & gardens back. Always fancied something growing indoors actually, like ivy up the walls or a great big tree going through both floors. Yes well, maybe getting a little carried away. :D

Had a typical toady day yesterday, went for bloods which had been rearranged (by them), & everything went awry from the off, couldn't get a seat in the cafe, then waited ages for a cup of tea, came home & had nearly locked myself out (long story) :o, found a message from the drs to say they want to see me. So barely sit down & they're after you again. Bought the wrong batteries for my doorbell, and not even for the first time. Fool.

Still tired, thanks for the advice & sympathy, I should be keeping diaries on all sorts of fronts really I'm sure it would pay off  but I don't think there's much doubt my meds are on the slide so when I get blood results I'll try & see rheumy - rather get right on it & (hopefully) back on course early in the year. Enbrel's done a brilliant job on my joints but was really only A1 for the most part of year one & has been slowly tailing off as far as I'm concerned. :( Obviously hoped for longer on it.

Kath, hope the leflunomide down & mtx up combo turns out well. Hope eking out the decongestants is going ok too. (Could have sowrn that should be ekeing but apparently not. Doesn't look right either way now..)

Applerose was viewing when I came in, so has probably finished her post long since I bet. Hope the doc has a definite answer for the flashing disturbance. :? Hope the tiredness stays manageable too. Lovely daffs.

Pleased to see that TK has had a better bit, at least, and mig is getting some fresh air & a change of scene on all our behalfs. :)

Hoping joan & sue are warm and keeping as well as possible. :)

It is just as well I can still manage to have a bath, just (can I have points for that?), as no shower. I am convinced the water feels 'different' since I had the new boiler but that may just be me losing my grip (on my mind, not the bath  ).

I bought a nice iced currant bun round, so there are plenty of bun 'portions' to break off with a nice mug of tea - love to all viewing. xxx Sorry I missed mentioning coco after her last visit, hope things are going as well as can be.

edit:  I was right about applerose. Do they think the eye situation will settle a bit over time? I was hoping/presuming maybe it had from before. Squinting at the bank girl, I expect they have seen odder folk  I'm afraid I thought of James Finlayson, veteran of Laurel & Hardy films. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/ca/JamesFinlaysonPublicityHeadshot.jpg Sorry!

:balloon: Hello Joan, Barbara, Christine, Toady, and anyone else here. :jheart:

    Hope everyone is pretty okayish.

Barbara, did you get any decongestant? If so, I hope they work.

Toady, glad to hear you managed to get into the house again.

Joan, hope you and Sue are still able to keep warm. Nothing worse than being cold and not being able to do anything about it. :?

I had a phone call from the company who provide my MTX yesterday, to arrange delivery of the new dose, next Thursday. It surprised me how quick it was. :o

I also had a (2nd) letter from surgery inviting me to make an appointment for spirometry. I've already told them I can't have it done yet as I'm on steroids and will be for the foreseeable future. Oh well, hope they got the message this time.

Hope mig is having a good time in St Moritz.

    Afternoon all
Just couldn't sleep last night with this head..its not like me
The ABs have made me feel sick but don't care has long as they work
Kathleen I got them but the doc said not to use them till I have finish the nose spray...but I am sure I will end up using them :) hope your head is clearing...apparently there has been a bug going round that is causing inflammation of the sinuses,,the lady at the chemist said she has never know anything like it.. :?
Joan I hope you and Sue are ok and don't worry about me i will be cured very soon ...of the sinus trouble I mean..
Christine..I was thinking about you last night..so glad the pressure went down..it was the year before last when I had sort of lightning at the side of one eye..not had it since so hopefully yours will do the same..glad you went to have them tested ..I didn't..and should have :o my OH uses the drops..not a clue why I shouldn't.. :balloon:
Toady..I dont know what meds you are on but can I have some please...do they call it minimalist...saying this I have been in an house many years ago that had ivy up the wall..and it was real :o ..I think that spring brings all this lets get rid of the clutter...it does with me..the very thought of the painter doing the Sistine chapel made me laugh..think he would still be at it  I do hope the rheumy can help, it must be rotten when the meds are doing there job only to stop...no wounder you are feeling tired...let us know how you get on...I remember JF very well...I never knew which way he was looking..brilliant pic.. poor Christine..glad its not permanent..sure she wont mind us laughing..bless
Righ tI will go and have a piece of the bun toady brought in...not eaten today..mind you it wont do me any harm...
    Love

    Hello joan, mig, barbara. :)

Forgot to thank barbara for the Abebooks info, I've come across them before but I don't think I've bought through them. I did notice that their seller star rating system, that you'd think would be for performance etc, is actually only an indication of what % of their orders they have managed to send. You'd hope all of them, barring a few unfortunate hiccups.

My run-ins with book & magazine companies continue, I've had a very high level of bad service the last week or so.. one site described the fact they didn't have an item I wanted after all (& not as in, 'just this minute sold out') as a 'slight complication.' No, you've just been incompetent at updating your own site properly! Can it be that hard? Maybe I'm expecting too much.

Minimalism, ah yes, when things are plain neat tidy & uncluttered.. the sort of place you'd sit on a white sofa with a cup of green tea meditating. I'm thinking more of the just-built look, unfinished and with ladders & stuff still out, and mugs of builder's tea. :D Take something to make your mind work along the lines of mine (I take it is what you meant)? No, no, you don't want that barbara! Sorry the abs are making you feel icky. :( I've got plain or ginger bics if that would be better than iced bun. Hope you feel better soon and not too long a course. xx

Glad you are getting your mtx speedily at least, Kath, thankful for small mercies I suppose. Hope you did manage to din the message in to the surgery. I'm sure you have nothing better to do than repeat yourself. Reminders of all sorts annoy me, I always wait til they (if its just opticians etc) give up with sending letters and then go. Contrary little blighter, me.

Best for mig's journey home & hope it goes smoothly. :)

    Hope TK is doing ok.

    Hello to you all :)

    Happy Valentine's day!!!!!

    t7121.gif

I hope everyone is well...that all antibiotics are finished soon and cure all ailments (obviously not arthritis, but everything else  )

All is well here except I lost Boris this week :(

Boris was one of my two beautiful catfish (plecs) who decided to jump ship (apparently they do that - he got out through the gap in the lid where the wires go through)

    https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTlgUqKlaeQzJvTawVm1xyzpSSpK1Dve6IffjvTAdrQMZ4i0F3pkvL-27WJ

Hoping this is a photo of one.

I was devastated when I found him on the floor Weds am. Bless him we was lovely we adored him and he loved courgette or melon as a treat.

It wouldn't be so bad only Charley had a crash on Tuesday evening. The POLICE rang me at 11pm to say she was in Walsall Manor Hospital. So off I went.

It turns out (incredible I know, but the police assure me this is true) that she had gone over to a friend's after her 2nd interview for ambulance service and taken her, her baby and her Mum out. On return the GMother took baby into house. Charley (naughty girl!!!) and her friend had a ciggie outside car (key still in ignition) when her friend's sister (released from prison that very DAY  ) ran out of the house and jumped into car. Charley and her friend also got in. She then drove off at speed and after a 15 min journey of horror crashed through a wall with railings on top into someone's garden having taken a sharp corner at 50

When I got to the hospital she was in a neck and back brace, but CTs and Xrays came back clear.

    Unbelievable eh?

Well the police certainly believe it apparently she was in prison for....wait for it....twoc (taking a vehicle without consent and driving without insurance and some violence issues). She is still on the run, but they are after her,

Charley is ok severe whiplash, nightmares and some numbness on leg/foot her friend has a broken arm and luckily the baby was not in the car.

    BIG eye roll

My poor fish was the final straw :(

    Bless him

    Take care everyone

    Love

Toady it wasn't your fault. I did it again on Toni's post a few minutes ago. Instead of clicking back, I've clicked the 'x'. Thanks for the coffee and cake though. Yum. I think I was saying something about my ivy trying to creep in through the windows and the odd slug thinking they can take up residence in my kitchen. I love nature but not that much.

Toni, that is a big shock. I was expecting you to say Charley didn't do well at the interview or something along those lines. Some sister she is doing that to her sister and her friend. Thank goodness GM took baby in to the house. Hope Charley recovers quickly. And her friend too. I'm sure the police will find the girl soon. Poor Boris. it is sad to lose a pet, even a fish. :broken:

Joan, hope you and Sue manage to get out this weekend with the dogs.

Kath, that was quick. Hope your MTX does turn up as expected. I often find there's a lack of communication with GPs, hospitals etc.

Barbara, sounds as if you've caught that bug. Can't be pleasant feeling sick now but sounds as if you prefer that to the pain. Hopefully, these ABs are kicking in now though. I was told I did the right thing going to get my eye looked at. At first I thought there was no need as it seemed to be the same as happened to my other eye (they won't do anything about it) but the optician said there are several conditions that can cause the lights. I need to keep an eye on my sight and if the lights get worse or if even a tiny bit of sight goes, I have to go immediately to A&E as the retina could be becoming unattached.

Mig, you'll be on your way home now. Hope you've had a great time and the journey isn't too bad.

Just chilling out in bed at the moment but think I need to get up and do something. I'm starting to hurt and my eyes are tired. There's plenty to keep me going. Don't think Mango's up yet. I went down to get my tea and toast and he stayed in bed. He usually jumps up and asks to go out.

There have been a lot of complaints on FB about some dog owners leaving their dogs' mess and not picking it up. I think it's because it's dark when they go out and they think no-one can see they've left it. There was a message put on last night. One lady, who breeds bulldogs near here, had taken one of her dogs out. He'd gone to a big tree to cock his leg and stood on something. He fell so she put her hand out to catch him and her hand was cut. When she looked, someone had put lots of twigs, nails and screws in to the ground round the tree, pointy side up then covered it in grass. How shocking it that? Not only could several dogs have been hurt, children could have been hurt too. They believe it was the woman who lives in the house next to the tree and have reported so it is being dealt with.

My ex-husband lives in a house not too far from me. My son phoned me the other night and told me not to go walking round there that night. There have been many arguments about people parking so that the others can't get past (it is a cul-de-sac). Apparently, that night, the main bad parker had come out of his house with a gun and was threatening everyone. The police had evacuated everyone and were going to raid the house. Haven't heard any more yet.
