Evening to one and all, good to be back in the cafe. I will have a read back and nibble on something very sweet and full of carbs, a large helping of sticky toffee pudding with custard - ( I wish) Sorry some are feeling under the weather, there is certainly a nasty chest bug doing the rounds in our neck of the woods.

We have a curry from Mark's (yes, I still potter round there, but not as often now) It smells good and my blood sugar is just fine, so I will enjoy every last bit.

Maltesers, well, they are off the menu, which was a HUGE blow, but I survived.

Everyone take lots of care, will pop in later, leaving some custard danish and a lot of hugs xxxxx Bubbles

:jheart: Hello all you lovely cafe lot. :jheart:

The sun has just come out. OH must be in his hot blood, he's opened the bedroom and bathroom window. Only the top light mind you, not the side part.

Hope Barbara's head isn't so painful today.
Hope Mig had a safe journey home.
Hope Joan and Sue are having a good weekend.
Hope everyone else are relatively problem free.

Bubbles, NO MALTESERS  How will you cope? Hope you get the Diabetes under control. :balloon:

    Hello, I'm Cate.

This looks a nice cosy place. Could I make some tea and toast please? I've brought some home made orange curd - I didn't make it! - to slather all over it. Also some lemon, and some lime.....I bought it from a farm shop.....delicious.....Cate.

Afternoon all..its a lovely day and there is warmth in the sun ..and the bulbs are coming up...I have seen quite a few spring flowers lately but ours are a bit behind flowering..
Its good to see bubbles in the cafe...but no malteser cake or maltesers come to that...how will we manage...at least there is custard slice... :balloon:
Toni the birds are pigeons if you click on it you will see the accident pics that ended upon our drive just before Christmas..I hope that Charley is not in to much pain ..that silly girl keep taking cars and going to jail do they never learn ..will Charley be able to claim form somewhere..I do hope so...what a blinking shame she has to save up for a new one..isn't there something you can claim off why it was a crime..hope Lucy is doing ok..
Kath..we have the windows open...well the bathroom to be precise the head isn't to bad..I am just praying these ABS work...hope your sinuses are feeling better.and the itching ...bet you dont know what to treat first..not fair...

Righ a cuppa and I will sit by the window watching the world go by...I can smell spring.... :jheart: :balloon:

Hope you are well Joan and the weather is good for you.

Barbara, is your head better now? No, not you being itchy now? Hope that disappears soon. And black eyes? Sounds painful still. I have pigeons too. They eat almost all the food. I open the door when they've had some and they fly away then the others can get some. The flash sounds a good place to watch birds. Sounds as if there are some unusual ones. That's the smell when the windows are open just now - spring. Lovely.

Bubbles, good to see you back. Hope you enjoyed your curry and sticky toffee pudding. Sounds yummy. Maybe you could have some cafe maltezers. They are calorie and fat free. Thanks for the custard danish pastry. I love them. :jheart:

Yes Toni. These things only happen somewhere else, don't they? Will Charley get anything from the insurance for her car? I noticed Barbara mentioned claiming if it was a crime. Maybe victim support could help with that. At least it hasn't frightened her off driving.

Kath, it was lovely this morning here. I had the upstairs windows and the back door open for a while. Love letting the fresh air in but it did start to get a bit too fresh.

Hello Cate. Welcome to the cafe. Help yourself to as much toast and tea as you like. As Barbara has said, everything is calorie free. :jheart: Thank you for bringing curd. Will go nicely on toast.

It seems like a lovely day outside but I can't be bothered doing anything. Feeling tired again. I'm going to force myself out for a walk with Mango.

Hope Toady and Elizabeth are ok.

Hi Christine, Barbara, Rose, Cate (welcome), Toni, Joan - thanks for the welcome home :)
I know, a life without maltesers, b0010.gif but I will cope and indeed I can help myself to the cafe ones, no sugars, no carbs.
The nurse at the surgery who looks after the likes of us who have diabetes, said not to eat too much of this, that, the other, carbs being the biggest thing to keep a lid on. Then, as you leave, says, don't deprive yourself though. It is well under control, matron is quite used to pricking fingers and testing blood sugar levels and they are perfectly normal, yet more pills, but needs must.
    Sorry about the fish toni
Guns, how terrible. Mind you, one of the shops in town was held up at gunpoint last week, someone high on drugs, no one was hurt and they police soon caught him. Glad we live in the woods, with good neighbours. I guess if you think about it, sadly nowhere is totally safe these days.
Hope the ABS are working Barbara, some of them do make you feel pretty rotten.
h017.gif I have been to the pharmacy stores to stock up on all manner of aids to some comfort, including the usual meds. We have lavender pats, wheaties, massage cushions, slankets, memory foam slippers, you name it, I found it. s040.gif

Time for a cuppa me thinks. Maybe a chocolate biscuit or two, yes, real ones too. You have to live a little. Everyone take lots of care, it is good to be back, will have a read, before nap time. XX Bubbles

Sorry I missed everything! Poor Charley has her car stolen from under her feet and ends up in hospital. That was terrifying. what will happen insurance wise?
Sorry about finding your fish out of his natural environment Toni. How sad.

And Applerose has a nutter with a gun on the loose but it doesn't surprise me as parking can cause a lot of upset.

Also hope Barbara has managed to get better and as had a better nights sleep.
I'm absolutely head spinning at the mo so going to have just say hello to everyone very quickly until I can think a bit more clearly.

Edit; very sorry to read your Mum passed away Bubbles. Initally she had a heart attack if I remember rightly. So sorry xx

Morning to one and all, hope everyone is as well as can be. Antibiotics working and no more firearm incidents. We live in a troubled world. I won't climb onto my soap box, (because I can't), instead, I will heat up some porridge and have lavender honey on top.

Out for lunch with family today, which will be nice, they are only up for a flying visit, so lots to catch up on and very little time. Best start thinking about getting ready.

Take care, be back soon, thanks again for the welcomes. xxx Bubbles

Hello everyone, hope all are as well as can be.

Hi Cate, sorry I didn't notice you yesterday. I'm very unobservant I'm afraid. Thank you for the curd, lovely on toast. :) I think I might also have some of Bubbles' porridge too, might as well make the most of all this calorie free food. Is that an overripe banana on the fruit bowl. That's got my name on it too.

Bad night last night. My back got rather warm, which started the rash itching - it took an hour to settle down. I had to take the covers off to get cold, didn't stop me scratching though. :x After that, a couple of the lumpy ones on my calves became sore and painful. 2 hours of wriggling about to try and get comfortable. By the time I settled it was 3.45 AM and OH got out of bed to go to the bathroom - DOH. So very tired although we had a bit of a lie in.

It's been raining here too. :loverain: but it didn't stop the Robin and Blackbird paying us a short visit.

Barbara, I'm glad your head is a bit better today.
Bubbles, you didn't happen to pick up any of those eye masks that you can put in the 'fridge? My eyes need some today. Look, they're bulging out on stalks.

Oh well, I'm off to have a nap, won't get through the day without one. :?

Hello everyone, and thanks for the warm welcome.

It's rather strange, but when you are able to talk to others in pain, it somehow helps.

I should know better by now, but I'm trying yet another pain relieving gel. T****(think of a large striped jungle beast) Balm. Lots of good reviews on A**zon, so fingers crossed I might get a bit of relief......Aw bless the poor deluded soul, I can hear you say!!

I hope you all have a reasonable day. Not long now until some warmer weather......Cate..x.

Hope you managed to get some sleep Kath and that the itching has subsided. Of course, we have cooling gel packs and eye packs, failing that they say lie down with tea bags on your eyes, never tried it myself, zopiclone is my preferred medicine.

Cate, I had a bad, well, let's call it an "experience" with Txxer balm , just make sure it is well washed off your hands !! We will draw a veil over the rest.

Gels and creams have never worked for me, with regard arthur, Father in Law swears by them, mind you, he thinks that a "fisherman's friend" is as good as a course of antibiotics, even after 14 years of telling him, there is nothing in them apart from liquorice and other horrid things.......Some do help, perhaps not quite as effectively as the adverts would have you believe, a bit of a case of trying them one by one. If you have a nice kind GP they will prescribe something like Emugel.

Off back to the Dr's Barbara? Don't want things getting worse.

Lunch was wonderful, good to see niece and nephew (as well as S and B in law). Nephew is in the teens years and nothing and no one can tell him anything, as he already knows it and the whole world is against him, lol. I guess we were all like that at one time.

Pooped now, heading for nap time, I don't think I will take much rocking. Back is screaming at me, as it does when you sit for any length of time for a meal, you go chair shaped. OH wheeled me round the lovely interiors shop next door, I was totting up the 1000's I had spent before we had gone 10 yards. One day, when the lotto coughs up.

Take care all, lovely sunny evening here now. Almost spring. XX Bubbles.

Oh Bubbles my Daughter is the same and she hasn't even reached her teens yet! I'm quite angry with her nowadays the way she speaks to me!

I got an early phone call this morning, from the hospital chasing up blood results. They haven't had any since October and cannot reorder my Humira without proof it isn't causing liver damage. I have to chase the GP as the hospital is busy. Luckily I have poediatry appt on Thurs at my GP practise so will ask about it then.

Anyway so as I don't have a headache but plenty of ironing to do I've got up rather than had a lie in.

I love interior shops Bubbles! They had a lovely one in Balcombe(where they have all the fracking issues) I always found something to buy and even made my own curtains once (by hand as hate sewing machines). Does anyone watch the great British sewing Bee? I love that programme.

Sorry to read the itching is back Kath. I always get it when I go to bed. I think the scabs have all gone now, still itching but not quite as fiercely as before. Heat could be an issue, I agree. I'm making sure I have a good scrub in the shower to remove the old skin. I know your itching is for different reasons and you probably have to be very careful with the skin.

Joan glad you managed a walk out with the dogs even if it was raining. I like rain as I find there are too many other things in life to worry about. Do the dogs mind the rain?

Hope Toni's D has recovered now after her frightening experience. Guess the girl likes prison and wants to return!

Applerose I hope you manage to get out with Mango especially as the weather is nicer, well it is here although I can feel the chill in the air. I can't open the windows at half term due to any noise issues but try to when they are at school.

I'm hoping to book tickets to see Magna Carta and try to match it up to a hair cut. I used to go to Trevor Sorbies salon but haven't been for many years now but would love a new fresh look.

Hope Toady is okay and finds time and energy to pop in.

Hello to Cate. Did you used to be on this forum as I recognise your name and avatar together?

Afternoon everyone. Beautiful here, but cold. Robin and Blackbird were fed early today as OH put more food out. Just wish we had a way to keep the pigeons and starlings away. Short of putting mesh across the top of the garden.....no, perhaps not. Hope all are having a good day.

Elizabeth. I had no itching last night, it's very hit and miss. Sinuses is the same, some nights they bother me, others they don't. :?

Barbara, that's why I appreciate the fact that we have two loos. One up and one down. When we had our bathroom modified (no bath now, it's a wet room) it took two and a half weeks. I'd have had to buy a potty.

Bubbles, tea bags on the eyes. That reminds me of a friend when I was a child, she had terrible styes and her mum had to bathe them with cold tea - leaves in those days, not bags. It looked very messy. :?

Cate, you're not deluded, just hopeful. We sometimes go to great lengths to try to ease our pain or discomfort. I used to use anti bacterial hand gel on my Vasculitis rash. It stopped the spots from itching for a while.

Listening to my iP*d while typing. Something I haven't done for ages. I'd forgotten what a good selection of music I have on there. Travelling Wilburys at the moment. Scott Walker, Charles Trenet (La Mer) all sorts of good stuff. Want to get some George Ezra next. :jheart: :balloon:

Good afternoon everyone. It's a lovely sunny day, but still pretty cold.

Well, I tried the T Balm, and I think it helped a bit, or maybe just wishful thinking. No bad "experiences" though Bubbles. I can't use or take any anti inflammatory stuff as it affected my kidneys quite badly. I thought, as this is supposed to be all natural, it might be OK.

Kath, you are so right , we never give up hoping do we? I must look out my Ipod. i've got some great easy listening stuff on mine too.

Barbara, have you got your bathroom back? I have got a second toilet but it's outside. Fortunately whenever we've had work done, it's been in the summer.

Joan, I have often thought about a scooter. I'm still driving at present, but finding manoeuvring really difficult because of neck and shoulder problems.

Elizabeth, I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't know what an avatar was. I thought you just called them pretty pictures! I'm a bit of a dinosaur where technology is concerned, so only recently got the hang of my Ipad and joined the forum.

Hi there Joan, Cate, Kath Elizabeth Barbara

Glad the Tig** balm helped a little. I cannot take Anti I's either, plays havoc with my stomach. I would not be without my scooter, it gives us freedom to go places, it comes in three parts so it is easy to fit into the car. I had to give my license back, due to neuropathy / pain and all the blessed drugs and their side effects.

Hope you manage to get your bloods sorted Elizabeth, I think all departments are getting more and more cautious these days, crossing the t's and dotting i's. We could not miss the Sewing Bee for all the tea in china, just love it. My late mum was a seamstress in her younger years, she could make things without a pattern, suits, shirts, dresses, trousers, was great to watch her.

We have sunshine here too Kath, went into town with OH and in laws, for coffee, after saying goodbye to rest of family, as they headed back down south. Didn't take a coat, thought it would be fine, well, the wind was howling round the corner near the cafe, frozen to the bone, that will teach me to think it is spring already.

Not heard of teasers Joan, are they chocolates? If they are, they sound good.

We had new beds delivered this morning, so looking forward to a trial nap in a while. Mine has 3000 pocket springs in it and is nice and high, bet I fidget like mad, while I get used to it. OH mattress says Stress Less on it. Anyway, they look very smart, love the smell of new furniture, with posh headboards too. Will let you know. Take lots of care, XXXXX Fresh cream horns in the fridge (not had one of them in years).
