    Hello everyone :)

    Gosh I've missed loads!!

Mig I would love to see some photos. It's worth the exhaustion to see somewhere so wonderful isn't it?

Hi Bubbles - good to see you. I hope you are doing ok and have warmed up from your lack-of-coat escapades? ;) I hope your bed was comfy too :)

Hello Cate and welcome to the café. IPADs are tricky I think and I am pretty naff with techie stuff too :)

Hi Joan - I hope you are all well and have sunshine too? I like teasers yum yum ;) Lucy is into those choccy eggs which come in a purple box filled with choc mouse and have a little spoon to eat it with :)

Hi KathT :) Hope you're not itching :? Lovely to find MUSIC again :) I rarely listen except in the car now as I often have an audiobook playing instead. I will have to remedy that :)

Elizabeth - they still haven't caught that girl, but I agree she must like it 'inside'

Kids these days are definitely ruder than we were. It's not easy parenting against the tide, which I know I am...setting boundaries and not letting mine have everything etc. I expect you do the same.

Hi Barbara the sun is shining here today too it's lovely
s010.gif and crocuses are flowering now :)

Hope you are recovered now??? I hope you got out yesterday?

I wonder where Toady and Christine are?? Were they ok last time they were on?

    ((())) to them both

    and love to everyone :)

Hi Toni, Mig and anyone else who has popped in for a cuppa. I have not been to Lake Como, but my Aunt and Uncle went last year and loved it, despite the mosquito's. I think such places are better out of season. I know in the USA, a lot of the places I have been are seen more clearly in winter time, hey ho, happy memories.
We came through the tunnel, by car, it is very strange indeed, not a journey I would repeat, but, as you say, it is not a long time.

You do right not letting the kids have everything Toni, there is so much stuff these days, it is a wonder their minds are not mashed. Says me, who loves gadgets, I would not know what day it was without my phone, not to mention where I should be and when.

The new bed was fine, apart from the new sheets slipping about, anyway, I was reluctant to get out of it, as where the cats.

Done a little ironing, enough for now, one of the cats loves the ironing board and has taken ownership of it now, rolling around - daft thing.

Bacon butties anyone? mmmmm Take care all XXX Bubbles

Hi Barbara, sorry you still have a headache, I am trying to think of the gel stick that you can use for bad heads, let me have a nosey round and find out Boo*s do a pack of gel pads, ready to use, that offer some relief. There are ones with lavender in too. Hugs for it to go very soon.

Had my shower, catching up with the washing and cats bedding. They have more fleeces than a linen shop, not that they are spoilt, MUCH, sorry, was shouting then.

Feeling a bit noddy, OH has to go see practice nurse about blood pressure, maybe for an increase in pills. Might shut my eyes in my chair for a few minutes. Leaving a blueberry crumble for all to enjoy. xx Bubbles

    Hi everyone,

Nice to "meet" you mig. Lake Como sounds magical. Did you see George Clooney and his new missus when you were there?

Did someone mention bacon butties? Twas Bubbles I think....a girl after my own heart. I'll have one with a big mug of builders tea.

Toni, nice to "meet" you. I've been reading your story, and am blown away with admiration for your family. I truly hope all is well for you from now on. Now that I'm getting used to my ipad it's proving to be one of the best things I've ever had. My nine year old granddaughter is very proud of me, as she set it all up for me. Pretty pictures an all!

Barbara, what makes me laugh is that my GP says, very accusingly, that it's because I took anti-inflammatories for years, that my kidneys have suffered. Completely ignoring the fact that he prescribed them in the first place. I hope you can get rid of your headache soon.

    Right, now where's them butties?.......Cate.x

Hello everyone who's in. Last night was better, very little itching and no pain whilst in bed. Although I had a lie down after getting back from shops, and my spine and neck were throbbing!! It felt like when I had filgastrim injections to help white cells form when having chemo. Agony. :?

Bubbles, thanks for the blueberry crumble. Just stuffing my mouth with it now...mumble, mumble, sorry about the crumbs.

Barbara, so sorry your head is still bad. Have you tried dabbing Eau-de-C***gne on your forehead. My gran used to swear by it. She sometimes bought it in stick form. Brand name alert - 4*1* if you can decipher that.

Cate, glad the T-balm helped. Doctors - huh, never take the blame for anything.

Mig, welcome back. What a tiring journey. My son and his family always travel by car on EuroS***. They did a tour of Germany, Austria and northern Italy year before last. Loved it.

Hope Christine and Toady are both OK.

Joan, hope you and Sue are doing well.

Haven't downloaded any George Ezra yet. :broken:

Hello all :) will be in soon I hope, thanks for asking after me (and don't worry I won't feel poked into coming in, thx :) xx nice to be missed tho) been a funny few days* & I had my mtx yesterday (having moved it forward for 1 reason or another from usual day) so won't put my head to proper posting this evening.

*expecting poor bloods and they were v good, possibly best I've had  after being a up a little last time which I put down to steroids coming to end. Joints not so good, or fatigue, so now thoroughly confused as I've always been a bloods up/joints up person & vice versa. Top it off, the rheumy appt I was thinking of trying to bring forward has been put back by them 3 months! Eck. When I've worked out if I'm coming or going will come in for a proper sit down. :)

For now I'll help myself to some of the very nice food that seems to be around, including orange curd on toast (hello Cate, nice to meet you :) ) - I never knew there was such a thing - and I've never been able to decide if I like lemon or not, beyond being 50/50 about it - so will be interested to try it. :D

Love to all, glad mig is back safe & sound, & DO hope everyone that's currently suffering feel better soon, we are a bit sickly atm :( hot drinks all round & thinking of you all. xxx

Just a short one today, from a very fed up Kath. My MTX should have been delivered today, the higher dose. It's not here!! Rang hospital as I didn't know what else to do, told me to ring beck if not arrived by 1pm. So I did that, but the person I wanted to talk to isn't in her office. Probably gone for dinner - then why ask me to ring back at that time???? :x Harumph  Left her my number so hoping she will ring me back. :broken:

Hi Joan Cate Barbara Mig Christine Toni,

Take care all those who are not so good, sinus infections are horrid Barbara, remember when I had one, on top of glandular fever, oh my, I was on AB's for over a month. Hope they sort your meds Kath, yes, it is SO annoying when they say ring back, it usually happens to me on a Friday, they say, sorry, they have finished for the week end !! How very dare they. Soothing eye gel packs for those with tender eyes.

We do need a little ward / annexe, for those of us who need a lie down quickly.
Have organised the tables and brought in a couple of beds n040.gif

There is an advertisement out for dishy Drs and Nurses, until then, I will have to dust off my uniform and do ward duties. Someone will have to take over if I am asleep in one of the beds

Just about done in, been shopping, managed one smallish shop, managed Mark's, lost the will to go into Tesc*'s so OH whizzed round in 5 minutes flat.

Packs of assorted cream cakes from Mark's and raspberry trifles (with extra cream).

Will have a nice warm shower and sit in a heap afterwards. k050.gif

Take lots of care, XX Bubbles

Well, Still no injections. The hospital didn't ring back, I had to ring them again. :( They said they were trying to find out where the delivery van was, so they can get MTX delivered today - FAT CHANCE! :!:

Bubbles, the cafe looks very cosy with those beds. Think I'll have a lie down in one with a soothing gel eye pack (me that is, not the bed). Goodness, the 'fridge has more meds in than food. :? Maybe we need a second 'fridge. As long as I can get my cuppa soups I don't mind. Thought we ought to start a healthy eating kick, so there are apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, celery and mixed nuts (unsalted of course).

As for nurses etc, I'd prefer a nice twinkly eyed over 60s gent to mop my fevered brow. You can keep the dishy young ones. Until then Bubbles, I'm quite happy to let you take my pulse.

    evening all
bubbles..when I had my THR there were two male nurses ..and my first thoughts were I am not letting him nurse me...but they were so gentle and very aware that some ladies might not like it so they would say if you prefer a female nurse..they were brilliant and the younger one was only in his 20s but very good at his job...and his brother was a nurse... :balloon: see I am rambling its the time of day..
Kath this is awful that you haven't had the injections delivered..I think there have been a few people let down by them..this just shouldn't be with something so important..yes I like the beds we can all have a nap together...we are the same with the healthy eating..well I am OH gives in by lunch... :balloon:
we have two GC here and one of there friends.....
hope you all sleep well and hope that Christine eyes are improving...xxxxxx

    Hi Barbara, Kath,
I do hope they manage to sort something out Kath, it is dreadful, left hand not knowing what right is doing.

We do need several more fridges, one for naughty but nice foods, one for healthy options and one for the shed loads of medications that we all need.

Glad the beds are comfy, I will certainly do my observation rounds on the dot. Glad you had good nurses Barbara, it takes a good skill mix with both male and female nurses, to run a ward to top standards.

Talking of medication, it is time I took my late evening ones. I will have a soluble vitamin C as well, that is my healthy fruit option lol.

Hope we all rest as well as possible. Take care, XX Bubbles

Eldest GD gone off to work she got her first months pay slip yesterday... £360 .. while she is an apprentice.... but at least she is doing an MVQ..bless, she is changing colostomy bags and all sorts but really likes it..she would make a brilliant nurse...

The drains have blocked again and OH was blaming me cos I go to the loo so many times in the night! Anyway when he cleaned them out it was loaded with the sort of products that we don't flush down the toilet. It seems many people do not understand what should be bagged and binned.

    sorry to read y
our headache hasn't cleared Barbara. I think your GD deserves much more pay and such low pay should not be allowed. But they know they will find another to take her place if she complains. Surely she should be rewarded for her work.

I never understand bloods Toady. I've walked into appts smiling and told my results are awful and other times felt dreadful but told results are good.

Talking of bloods, my last 2 have gone missing! The rheummy
rang because they needed results to reorder my humira and thought I'd not been keeping up. GP can't find them nor can the hospital!

Lovely that you popped in Applerose to let us know about problems with your sight which can be a real struggle. Hope you are coping.

I love risotto but haven't had it for ages.

    Has the mtx arrived Kath?

Bubbles i love Marks. I have loads of vouchers to spend there but find it a struggle getting out and about at the moment. If I send OH on my behalf he buys things like chicken thighs rather than trifle!

Hello to Joan. Lots of rain here, Hope Toni and family are well.

going to post as cursor skipping about everywhere!

Hello Elizabeth, Barbara, Bubbles, and anyone else who might turn up. :jheart:

Elizabeth, MTX arrived THIS MORNING. I wouldn't mind, but the hospital co-ordinator didn't ring back to let me know. What if I'd have gone out today? Fortunately I didn't, so that's OK. But they haven't rung back to check they arrived. :?

Barbara, good news for GD, has your head settled down yet? Or do you still have the headache?

Bubbles, I fell asleep in the cafe bed. Must take an alarm clock with me next time. Unless others are having a nap too of course.

Just had chicken soup with a sandwich. Still hungry and I'm only on 10mg of Pred now.

Hope we don't get the snow. I have a FB friend who lives in Ohio, US. They've got it bad. Even Niagara Falls is frozen over.

    Hi Barbara and Elizabeth

Glad you are enjoying the sunshine Barbara. Like you, all the recent hospital care that various members of our family have had, has been excellent. Mum in Law had open heart, to replace aortic valve just before Christmas, then Mum was in for a week, before she passed away. Nephew was told to get dressed and go in as they had a kidney that matched, so he is well on the mend now.
I bet your GD was made up with her pay slip. I remember mine, £100 for a month, that was when I first started nursing. £25 a week and two of those weeks were 60 hours !! Let's hope she goes on to be a wonderful nurse, the more the merrier.

Oh dear Elizabeth, not good when things are blocked. Neighbours near us tried to flush endless nappies down, some people have no common sense. Glad their drains went on a different route to ours, or we would all have been up the creek. Glad it is sorted. Have you seen pictures of those fatburgs that lurk in sewers, they weigh tons, fat, hair, grease, you name it
faints online. Sorry, I won't mention drains again.

If you need any help spending vouchers in Mark's, just shout :)

Kath, great news that the meds finally arrived, not before time either. Don't worry about nodding off in the cafe beds, that is what they are there for. Pred. makes me famished, touch wood, so far this winter I have not had any.

Leaving bread and butter pudding, (made with pain au chocolat instead of bread). with chocolate custard. Comfort food, that doesn't count as naughty :D

    Hello everyone,

Is there a bed empty please? One of those days when everything is just too much trouble. Start something, then having to sit down for five minutes, so three steps forward then two back. I might just as well leave everything first as last, as I only end up getting all mithered when stuff isn't getting done properly. Then I'm falling out with my own finger ends, as my mum used to say.

My beautiful little granddaughter was blowing me 'get betterer granny' kisses on FaceTime. That helped. Then she told me that she had a headache in her foot! I could eat her.

    Now, where's that bed?.......Cate.x

I'm glad the MTX has arrived Kath but its so annoying that nobody cared enough to ring you back and check if you were going to be in and they still haven't checked that you received them.

You always make me hungry talking about chicken soup Kath. I love anything chicken and broth.

The trouble with Marks is there is never anywhere to park, which puts me off. Also OH tends to walk off and leave me shopping but the basket is too heavy to carry around so I have to wait for him to come back before I can buy anything.

About to go up the wooden stairs, I've had a quiet, vague day but still feel tired.

Hello everyone. I've had a quick skim through but going blurry again. Hope those who aren't too well feel better soon. Thanks for the beds. Think I'll have a lie down. Someone brought cakes and cream and someone brought fruit. Hmmm, which should I have? Maybe some of both.
