Toni's got the place looking fresh and clean again so I'll get breakfast started. Help yourself to bacon, sausage, eggs, tomatoes, hash browns. There's toast and cereal for anyone who wants it. Team coffee, orange juice.

Toni and Joan, it was rainy and windy here yesterday. So far today is dull but dry.

Good morning Toni, Joan and Christine,

Wow, everywhere is sparkling, and that lovely smell of bacon goes well with Toni's bleach!

Ooh, egg, bacon and sausage, and a builders for me, and a sit down with the papers.

Supposed to be going out for lunch with a friend, but I really don't feel like it. Weather isn't too great, and it's been a bad week pain wise, so feeling a bit fragile, and my recliner is beckoning. Roll on the warmer weather and out in the garden, getting a nice tan. I've probably put the tin hat on it now, and it won't stop raining til Christmas!!

Love to Barbara, Elizabeth, Kath, Toady and anyone else I've forgotten.....Cate.x

Hello all. Very scary here, strong winds and downpours. Glad I'm not out there. welcome British Summer Time.

Been to FB. I think I've found Barbara, and through her, found Toni. I just hope they're the correct ones. I already have Christine. So if anyone is a friend of hers you can find me that way. :D

Cate, yes, Toni always does us proud with her cleaning, and she doesn't put newspaper down either, which can be a bit off putting. Although with mucky old me coming here, maybe she ought to - or perhaps I should bring my own paper. I just fancy another egg but might stretch to a quorn sausage with it, and some toast. :P

Joan and Sue, I hope you're both keeping wrapped up warm today. :?

Feel very proud of myself, donated to our local hospice. Must pop over and take a look at Toni's charity too.

Whoops, almost forgot  Hope everyone is feeling reasonable today in spite of the weather. s065.gif

Cate, did you go out today or make it a rest day? It was windy, cold and a bit rainy here so the furthest I went was in to the garden when the sun came out to hang the washing out and bring it in an hour later.

Barbara, that's the problem with getting rid of things. It means you have space to put more things in. I bought 5 pies from the Farmers Market. I got 1 chicken, 2 chicken balti and 2 turkey dinner pies. They called them Xmas dinner pies up till Xmas. They freeze really well so will last a few weeks. I don't suppose it was any colder in the ice rink than it was outside today. The wind was freezing here.

Kath, keep meaning to ask - do you prefer Kath or Kathleen? I thought you had signed one of your posts Kath but not sure now. You've reminded me of when my mum used to put newspaper on the floor after mopping so we could walk on it.

I spotted a bargain the other day. Vax were selling a steam mop reduced from £130 (I think) to £30. Hummed and haaad about it then thought why not. It arrived yesterday and I mopped the floor with it today. Much easier than a mop and bucket. Haven't done much else except put the washing outside to dry for an hour. Hope everyone has coped with the clock change alright. I didn't think I would but seems my body clock must have known. I woke up at the usual time by the clock.

Morning all sunny but forecast rain later..
Christine..must say the pies sounds good, especially the Christmas dinner one..you have got me wounder what is in it :? and the balti would suit my OH..we had a little farmers market the other week in the next town, but ended up buying all sweet stuff  now the steam mop I used one of those micro fiber mops and a spray ..but have looked at the steam..so glad you are pleased with it..that was a bargain :o
Today I am copying toady and stripping wallpaper..its out middle GD room and is still all pink and full of stickers and things so she has given us permission to take it off.. :) think I will have a sit down and a cuppa first..will put the kettle on for anyone that comes in..

Hello Elizabeth, Barbara, Joan, Christine, and anyone else who might pop in.

Joan, I have very sore skin at the moment. It's my Nodular Prurigo that is bothering me a little. It's difficult to control and the nodules do get itchy. Haven't had too much bother with it of late, but it's definitely letting me know it's there at the moment. I need to put more cream on them.

Christine, I have no preference and answer to anything really. Immediate family always call me Kathleen, OH and both DILs call me Kath, as do most friends - old and new. When in hospital, some staff call me one thing while others call me another. As long as I'm not called a rude name I don't mind. :?

Barbara, don't mind about you not going on FB often, you are on my friends list. :D I've got Dropbox too, does it put a link to your 'public' folder then? I'm going to try that.

Oh yes, that is good. This is of my youngest son Jonathan and his bride Rachel at their wedding in 2011. Thanks for the tip.

Kath what a lovely pics..the tip came from toady, cant believe how I have been going the long way round with pics..sorry you are suffering with your skin again, they must be so painful when you have to scratch is it an autoimmune thing, I had never heard of it before you
Well I didn't get far with the paper stripping..one of my neighbours came round so a good excuse.. maybe tomorrow
She came to tell me that another neighbour noticed money missing..and her son put a camera in her house ..it was the carer and she thinks it has been going on for a couple of years but didn't like to say anything..she thought it was her memory going.. very sad...

A quick hello to you folks

Sorry I haven't been on today, but been busy. Lucy's Dad visited from Devon with her and Charley's two half-sisters.

Lucy changed her name recently on fbook because she fell out with him. He is a bit of an idiot, but much peace-making was required by myself

Clinic and chemo tomorrow. Lucy was badly sick last night bless her.

Had some lovely donations today to the charity's just-giving page. Sniff sniff

Oh bless, Toni. I'm still using my ex husbands last name- I'm sure he is very annoyed about it! I assumed I'd be married to OH by now but he has decided it is only a bit of paper and not worth the effort!

It was the wig that confused me Toni.

Sorry I just popped on to say holiday half term is going well, no worries and all that!

Barbara how awful of the so called carer and thank goodness for the cameras because the police won't do anything without proof. I hope it goes on their record cos they'll only do it again to someone else.

House 2 up got burgaled on Friday, they got in through the back door. It worries me although it seems they knew nobody was at home. Been happening a lot round he

Barbara, the Christmas dinner pie has turkey, stuffing and cranberry jelly in it. They are really tasty and the pastry is lovely. Doesn't crumble to crumbs the way other gluten-free pastry does. It's a couple who run the stall and they bake everything themselves including muffins and fruit pies. So you are decorating too. I started my bedroom last summer and haven't finished it yet. I'm the same. If I can get out of doing a job, I will. How terrible for your neighbour to find that the carer was taking money. You have to put your trust in them too.

Hope things are ok for you Joan and the weather isn't too bad.

Kath, that's like me. Some call me Christine and some Chris and people have changed back and forward over the years. Sorry your skin is sore again. Hope the cream helps. I'll have a look at your link after I post as I've lost posts before by clicking on links then deleting them instead of going back.

Toni, I hope things went well with Lucy and Charley's dad. I think dad's are always dad's, no matter what they have done. Hope all goes well tomorrow and Lucy isn't sick. You have got some wonderful donations for the charity do. It sounds as if it's all coming together now.

Elizabeth, I changed my name back to my maiden name as soon as I was sure I wasn't going back to my husband. I'm glad things are going well during the holiday. It is worrying when a nearby house gets burgled. Someone once tried to get in our house but we had 2 big Pyrenean mountain dogs so think they changed their minds.

The 19 year old where I work is home from uni for the holidays. As both boys have one car between them, they have put up a rota of when each of them will get to use it. What a mess the house is in with the whole family at home now. I'm looking forward to a long weekend off.

    Hello everyone,

I really don't like these winds.....they scare the life out of me! I did go out for lunch on Sunday Christine. It was lovely, but I was glad to get back home. I'm staying put now til the sun comes back!

I really shouldn't read mig's posts. I'm trying to lose a bit of weight, but I'm now fancying shepherds pie.....and apple pie.....and some of Christine's Christmas pie. The crisp bread and low fat cheese in front of me just isn't doing it now. Oh, shurrup moaning Cate, and get on with it.

I'll have a coffee, and sit by the window with my book.

Love to Toni, Kath, Joan, Elizabeth, and anyone I've missed.....Cate.x

Hello everyone, sorry for speaking with my mouth full but I can't resist anything that mig provides, so helping myself to a bit of everything.

Elizabeth, sorry I made you lose your post.

Joan, yes, if I keep putting loads on the cream does help with my itch.

Barbara, we had a large piece of guttering blow down last night. Rang the housing association to report it and was told that the person in charge of booking roof repairs had cancelled all roof work while the high winds are here. But the roofer is fully booked for several weeks. :o Hope we don't have too much rain. :?

mig, you are so good to me, feeding me all these lovely meals. :D

Christine, I used my first husband's name until I married the current Mr T. My eldest two use his name too. Eldest son uses my second husband's name plus his own wife's name with a hyphen. Very posh, but his initials are R. J. F. T. Youngest daughter uses her ex's name but youngest son uses our family name alone. Shame, as his wife's maiden name would have gone very well as another double barrelled surname, but she doesn't like it. If they had used it, YS initials would have been J. S. B. T. I suppose life is complicated enough.

Oh Toni, so sorry to hear Lucy was sick, and she was doing so well too. Hope today's chemo went well.

Evening all..it was windy when I went out but not to bad..then all hell let loose..had a good chat though with my niece and friend and had a lovely lunch in a pub and didnt move till hubby picked us up...
Kath sorry I forget to mention your other pic this morning it was lovely..or did I mention it yesterday.. :? just had a look at the others pics they are brilliant .. :D ...they look very happy :D so you will have to wait to get the guttering mended..
Elizabeth its so annoying when you lose a post..especially a long one..
Cate..mig always makes me hungry... Im the same with the wind I ended up with ear plugs in last night..glad you enjoyed your meal out...
Joan hope you are not having this bad weather,,then you can get out on your scooter..
We have hail and high winds at the min... and a leak over the bay window.. :x

Mig, your meals make me feel hungry even after I've just eaten.

Barbara, we had terrible winds last night too. Found my plastic bench at the bottom of the garden and my wooden one upturned. Got back from work and found my recycle glass, cardboard and tins emptied all over the garden. Just glad there wasn't a lot in it. Glad you had a good time with your niece and friend. Thanks, I did get home in one piece without being blown away. Not sure the driver could see out of the window with the amount of hail/sleet that was coming down.

Joan, thank you. I'll get plenty of rest after Thursday. A whole 4 days off. Hope you and Sue are coping with the weather just now.

Elizabeth, I've done that a few times. I've just looked at the links first before posting in case I do it again. Hope Dan enjoyed his club.

Cate, I don't blame you wanting to stay in. I wouldn't go out if I didn't need to go to work. It takes a lot of willpower to stick with healthy foods. I managed to avoid a chocolate bar last night but succumbed to a chocolate ice lolly an hour ago.

Kath, hope you don't have any problems with the rain before you get the repairs done. Sorry, you've lost me with all the surnames. Sounds worse than my family. My aunt changed to her mum's maiden name and so did her daughter. My 2 sisters have both married twice so children have different names too. It all gets very complicated, doesn't it? Lovely pictures. I looked at them before I posted in case I deleted instead of clicking the back button.

Called in to Tesco today and found they were selling off the gluten-free Yorkshire puddings. Looks like they might not be stocking them any more. They did have a few new things but nothing I was interested in. Loooks like we are in for another very loud night.

Hi all, just a quick hello, very windy here! like most places, seems everyone's ok, no-one blown away - hope no-one has to go far in it, if you don't have to best stay put, eh. Hope it passes.

Nice to see Kath's pics :D the original dropbox info came from Bubbadog so credit goes to her for helping me, I'd never used it - I have it on now for the thread purposes etc & I can see it's handy but sync-ing is not something I use especially - if I want to back up anything online I tend to do it the long way. Probably making work for myself.

Finally got to looking at christine's video, I found the giant ever-so-slightly scary & I'm sure I would've as a child. That is big. Looked like a good day. Nice buildings, well from second storey up - curse of the High St plate glass at street level - nicer than my town. Any idea what the chap at around 3.44 represents? With the spidery black and orange balloons (?) and the touch of Morrissey about him.

Barbara the de-wallpapering will keep. Haven't got any further with mine yet. Sorry you have a leak over the window.. anything to do with guttering? dread to think what mine are like. Awful about your neighbour's carer, some are so nice & will do all sorts to help but then you get these sort, and not just the very very rare bad 'un it seems. :( Hope she's not too shaken.

Frog, no I don't do FB, never have (just a personal thing). I expect there will be another way I can keep up? :) Sorry Lucy had bad day. Hope everything has been better since especially with clinic today. Hope the 'fence-mending' with her Dad will be permanent truce.

Sorry Kath is having an itchy time of it :( especially if it's been less bother lately. Hope it backs off again soon for you. That's a lot of initials in your family, all very qwerty! Have never liked my name and would change it by deed poll for two pins  everyone would just think it was a sign of 'mad old bat'-dom setting in. I'm sure your name shapes who you turn into to a point.

Glad half-term is going well for you TK. Never have a clue when any of the holidays are but Easter is obvious I suppose. They were never long enough, is all I remember. Not nice to have a nearby burglary. :(

Hope you are warm in your corner with your book Cate. I won't interrupt, I'll just slide a coffee over your way along the counter. Is it a book with pages or a kindle-y thing? If it is at least you don't have to mind crumbs &c. I might serve up some of mig's soup & pitch into some reading myself, not that I'll ever catch up with my 'pile' (too much internet! )

Hope joan & sue are doing ok today. Do you still go to town with dial-a-ride twice a week & is it the same days or can you vary it.

Still got at least one un-altered clock so if I seem 'all out' we'll blame that, takes me ages to adjust. Still, any time is tea time. :D xxx

oh, rough night again applerose? I was hoping not but haven't checked the forecast. One wheelie bin went over yesterday and my greenhouse is going to 'go' I reckon. Neighbour's cat is scraping to come in so I don't suppose he's enjoying this much, either.

Hi Toady. Yes the building are lovely when you look up. The man with the black and orange balloons? Not too sure what he was supposed to be. He was outside one of the phone shops advertising it, I think. We often have strange people walking around dressed up. I've seen Robin Hood, camels, people on stilts. Just for the sake of it, I think. Don't blame you not being on FB. It can get addictive and there are often things you'd rather not see or read. I changed back to my maiden name by telling everyone - the bank, post office, fuel providers etc - what I wanted to be called. Didn't use deed poll. I'm sure I've missed a clock somewhere but can't think which one - heating or something.
