Toady it good to see you sorry that appointment hasn't come through but glad the pain is not has bad..but the tiredness is awful...small mercy's... I did walk past the girl..but coming back there was something about her ..and she was struggling to get up so I offered her one of my crutches and she had a a laugh..I feel so helpless sometimes.. so your comp has kept you busy ..that is good anything to take our mind off other things..not been the weather for gardening..
Christine I am racking my brains has to were the village was with the scarecrows I would loved to have stopped..how long do they leave them there for..we had scratching last night but like I said they dont usually stay now..unless they are deaf..
Joan its good to see you when you go missing we worry like Toni says...
Hope Elizabeth is improving...and getting the rest she needs..
Its pouring down here... :x come back summer..still not sorted with TT...
The kettle is on if anyone fancys a cuppaLove

Morning all the sun is shinny and its lovely and warm...
Joan thankyou I am a sucker for the homeless but its sorting out who is genuine..have you heard any more about your ankle..its a good job you have your scooters..but it must be painful in the house..
Today we are off out somewhere ..supposed to be looking at second hand folding scooters something lite that OH doesn't have to struggle with..thats the reason I have been put off getting one..but we saw a lady on one with her hubby and it was east to fold and not to heavy..just wondering how stable it would be with me on it..so will try one out..
I hope that Elizabeth has got some respite sorted ..she really does need it..
Hope everyone has a goodish day and this sun...that's if it last...Love
Barbara0 -
Hello everyone, it's been sunny here, but still not as warm as it should be. Mind you, I'd be complaining if we were having really hot weather as I just can't cope with it. :?
Waiting to hear from Emily again. The pest control was supposed to turn up today, so hopefully she may soon be bee free.
Having a lot of pain with my right hip. I can barely put my weight on it some days. But when I've been walking (very slowly and with a limp) for a while, it does begin to ease off. It kept me awake for a couple of hours last night as I couldn't get comfy at all. Must take some paracetamol tonight. I don't normally take pain killers, as I think I'm taking enough tablets already.
Just watching The Box, James Martin. The guest is Alex Jones, who chose all the food. One contestants did a fried egg with the Quorn Alex chose, and Alex said she didn't like fried eggs. What's not to like about fried egg :?: :?: :?:
Toady, glad you are as OK as you can be. Hope you get your appointment soon.

Hello Barbara Kathleen and anyone else who's in.
Barbara thank you for thinking about my ankle it is pain full but so is yours.
I've never had a scooter that you can put in a car. scooters are so help full.
Kathleen i'm sorry about your hip I hope the pain soon goes.
take care

Barbara, at least you did something to help the girl. More than a lot of people would do. There's only a certain amount you can do and there are too many to help them all. The scarecrows are put up during the week then taken down on Sunday. Shame. It would be lovely to leave them a while longer. I found a couple of holes in my bedroom wall just under the windowsill. I think my mouse must have been trying to escape. No idea how long the holes have been there. Hope you had some luck finding a scooter.
Joan, I haven't seen the mouse for over a week but still hear a bit of scratching. My son thinks there may be a bird's nest above my window so hope it's the bird scratching, not the mouse.
Kath, I used to love the summer but it gets too hot for me too. Could do with it being just a couple of degrees warmer tomorrow though. I often take paras as I get in to bed if I feel I'll be too uncomfortable to get to sleep. Hope your hip eases off. You're right about the fried egg. I don't eat them very often but I do love them. Fingers crossed the bees have gone.
Got on the bus today then realised I'd forgotten something so had to get off at the next stop, go back home and get the next bus an hour later. On the way home, I was waiting at the bus stop at the bottom of the hill when I heard a police siren. A van came flying round the corner and up the hill with the police van right behind it. A minute later, the police van came tearing back down and turned in to the road half way down. A few seconds later, it came back out of there and suddenly went up on to the pavement in front of two men. The policeman jumped out and took the men to the back of the van and put one inside and stood talking to the other. When I got off the bus, a young lad (about 14) got off too and said hello and asked if I'd seen the police. Apparently, it was his friend who was put in the van and the other person was his dad. He didn't know what had happened.Christine0 -
Morning all..another lovely morning..
Joan I hope they offer you some help for your ankle very soon, how are your little doggy's getting on
Kath I am sorry your hip is painful and can associate with this, the first one before my THR wasn't has painful has this one is...you just cant get comfy..but the standing is the worse..hope it ease for you ..hoe is your chest with all this pollen..I know my GD is suffering..food gets to fancy in some restaurants good old egg and chips you cant beat..with beans..
Christine..I sometimes think I am a good judge of character but some of these homeless are good actors..and one time many years ago we took a young girl in only to find her missing in the morning ...and we were minus a ring..it wasn't worth much but the thought of it...
these mice are so good at making there homes ..we have a few hols around the house ..but no new one thank goodness.. we do still hear scratching now and then but it doesn't last now..we have 2 devices upstairs and 2 down .. I hate not knowing what has gone on when I see the police ...wonder what they had been up to..all of that then its a slap on the wrist...
Hope Lucy treatment went ok think it was yesterday..hope I have that right :? and all whats going on at the channel tunnel is over with before they go on there hols...
Love to Elizabeth I hope that things are a little better..and Toadys appointment has arrived...Love

Morning all,Nice sunshine here today and its warming up.Just had one of those dodgy calls telling me something was wrong with my computer told him he's having a laugh and hung up.
Today is my daughters 35 birthday she's off out after work with her friends for a meal hubby and me are celebrating with steak ,new potatoes ,peas and onion gravy, yum.Mig0 -
Hello mig, and everyone who pops in.
Steak? Mmm, good idea. I've got a nice sirloin in the freezer. Thanks mig.
Lovely sunshine earlier, but clouding over now.
Just had FaceTime with the littlest grand girlie, twenty months. I sent all three of them some lovely stuff from George at Asda, great quality and nothing cost more than a fiver, even for the nine year old. More than enough to pay when they grow out of things so quickly. Little un had one of the dresses on, and her daddy told her to do a twirl for granny. She did, and promptly flopped down in the paddling pool. She hoisted herself out saying "Oh dear, what have you done now" in an exact match of my son's voice. I could eat her.
Will have a builders and toast, and get everything ready in case anyone pops in for breakfast......Cate.x0 -
Sorry had to shut down for awhile. Trying to fight fatigue, while trying to help with A levels, uni's, work experience and worrying about my youngest D.showing signs of arthritis has worn me down.
Lucy has been hobbling around a lot lately and has to sit slowly so I'm keeping an eye but trying not to appear too concerned if you know what I mean.
Respite turned down but I thought that would be the case; beautiful facilities being wasted,. even if others could get a break I'd be happy.
Right I've got to tackle the dreaded tax credits form today but at least I am awake.
Will have a quick read back and love to you all

Hello all,
Elizabeth, I'm so sorry to hear of your difficulties. I hope Lucy isn't developing arthritis. I know two of my daughters (middle and youngest) went through a phase of having problems with joints when quite young, especially knees. It turned out that they had a virus in the joint which caused inflammation and pain. :?
Cate, how lovely for you to be able to facetime with your grandchildren. They can come out with some really amusing things when that age. Too late for breakfast, but I see there is some instant porridge so will help myself to some.
mig, hope you enjoy your steak, new potatoes, peas and onion gravy. I'm drooling here.
Barbara, I take 2 Piriton at bedtime, so they and my 3 inhalers and nebulised saline are keeping me going. Thanks for asking.
Christine, you do lead an exciting (?) life. What with escaping mice and police stopping nearby.
Joan, thank you for being concerned about my hip. I'll just have to take pain relief. I don't normally bother, but it is making life more difficult, especially when out shopping.
Sending hugs to everyone, we all seem to be suffering even more than usual at the moment."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Barbara, it is awful that you help someone then they steal from you. As you say, it's not always the worth of it, it's the fact they've done it. I was hoping to see the young lad again today to find out what his friend had done but I didn't. Probably did just get a slapped wrist. I think you're right. It was yesterday when Lucy had her chemo and they were setting off at 3 this morning. I really hope the Calais situation doesn't hold them up.
Happy birthday to your daughter Mig.
Aaw Cate. How lovely to see your GD with her new dress on but what a shame she fell in the pool. They are funny with some of the things they say.
Good to see you in the cafe Elizabeth and feeling a little better. Don't overdo things though. Unbelievable that the respite was turned down. What a waste of the facilities.
Joan, hope you got some nice weather today. It was lovely here.
Kath, everything seems to happen at once here then months go by with nothing. There was an ambulance across the road this afternoon. Don't know who it was for.
There were a couple of funerals today at one of the churches. One was a 15 year old boy from the school here who had an accident while riding his motorcross bike in a race. The other was a local butcher. He had retired a couple of years ago. His family had the butchers shop since 1896. It was a proper old fashioned butcher's and he always wore a butcher's apron and straw boater. His shop has been left as it was (although there is no meat there now).
It was lovely enough here for me to get in to the garden after work for a while. Planted up a few fuchsias and geraniums and tidied up the patio.Christine0 -
Hello Kathleen Christine and anyone else I missed.
Kathleen I hope you've had a good day with not too much pain.
Christine you have a busy time where you live.

Hello everyone,
Finally, some news from Emily. Edited as there are one or two words in there that the forum admins wouldn't want me to include.
"Hello, after many cancellations the rather scabby and scary bee man came only to tell me that they are ****** honey bees and they can't remove them. However taping up the light where they were coming through has trapped rather a lot of bees who haven't found their way back out and so have died and this has led to them sending out warning signals that seems to have made the rest think twice about my loft being a good place to camp. They appear to have moved on as I haven't seen any for a day or so but have seen quite a few around my neighbours roof, the one that isn't joined and the bee man said they will have moved on and I should be ok, phew!
******* insects, I like bees and all that but for goodness sake stop wandering into my house and go and find a tree or something, I've got enough on my plate with giant spiders jumping out of the fireplace just to pull a face and dart back in."
So it appears the bee crisis is over. She'll just have to learn to live with the spiders gurning at her
I'm having to take paracetamol now, two in the morning. Will see about bedtime. I've mentioned it to rheumy and she doesen't seem interested. Don't see her until November, but it it gets too unbearable I will have to either ring the nurse specialist for advice, or go to my GP who is too terrified of my drugs to prescribed me much. :?
Hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather, but I'm still wearing socks in bed. OH has just informed me that next week it is supposed to reach 30 degrees. Too hot for me, I think the socks will have to come off."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Im late today...we went out early and then visited some family..its a lovely day here
Mig happy birthday to your daughter..steak and potatoes is a good way to celibate..those calls keep coming through here you would think the police or government could do something...
Christine yes its the trust that was broke that I never got over..shame you didn't get to find out what had gone on...we lost our local butcher...and now his shop is boarded up such a shame..but the poor lad at 15 how sad when its the best time of there life..
Cate how lovely to have face time with the little one..suppose its better than nothing..but I do hope she comes round ...these DILs can get on there high horse..I think they expect not to get on with the mother in law..now my dil well one of them dosen't get on with her mother

Kath enters the cafe on her trusty walking stick, sits down and rubs her hands together, then gathers up cream scones with strawberry jam and a muggatea. Muffled sounds issue from her crumb laden lips interspersed with slurps and burps.
Whoops sorry, got carried away there.
Thanks for the cream tea Barbara."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Joan, I could do with it not being so busy but I guess it keeps life interesting.
Kath, I am surprised the man wouldn't move the bees. I've seen them scoop the bees in to a box and put them in a hive. As long as they get the queen bee, the rest will follow her. At least they are gone now but sounds as if Emily's neighbour has them to deal with now. Had to laugh at the giant spiders popping out to pull a face.Hope the paras are helping you. I would definitely ring your nurse if you need more help. You're still wearing socks in bed? I get way too hot in winter and feel as if I'm melting now. I'm having to leave the window open but then hear every little noise from outside and not sure how much cool air comes in with having the blackout blind stuck to the window. I heard about the heat wave. Not looking forward to it.
Barbara, your son's hip sounds very painful. Are they doing anything about it now or is it just a case of wait and see if it does get worse? Hope your results come in soon. It's awful all the waiting. Mmmm, cream teas. Yummy.
Managed an hour in the garden today. I had a surprise sunflower growing in another plant's pot so I've taken it out and put it elsewhere. Just hope it survives. And a bit of tidying up. My boss and his family were like 8 year olds on Xmas Eve today. They must be getting excited as they are off on holiday soon. And the wash basket was full to overflowing as they are wanting clothes ready to go.Christine0 -
Morning all,I'm up bright and early though the sun isn't.Just waved daughter off she's going to London for three days meeting up with friends from Sweden and going to see a concert .
Hope everyone has a good week- end. Mig0 -
Morning all the sun is out..very warm last night..
Who made the mess in here last night there are crumbs everywhere...I see that Kath is in one of the beds now there's a clue..
hope that hip eases for you..think I am getting nearer this other THR..
Mig how lovely for your daughter...hope she has a good time..and you have a good weekend..
Christine..they have left the op up to him, if it goes any worse then he will have to get it done..he has lost a lot of weight so that is helping..he used to do body building but gave it up for fitness.. thank goodness.. so you will be on your own at work soon...at least things wont pile upon you till they get back then it will start all over...has your son got any nearer with his house..and I m the same at night melting...
I had a lovely day yesterday with my niece and her friend..we had a pub meal then got a taxi back to hers..and OH pick me up..we put the world to rights..she has a lovey staffie dog..but he kept trying to get on my knee ..so she had to put him in the garden..
nothing on today....hope that Toady has that appointmentLove

Hello Barbara, Whoops, crumbs, what crumbs? :? Oh dear, sorry about that, let me clear them up.
mig, I hope your daughter and pals have a good time in London.
Christine, I think the bees had moved themselves before the man got there. Perhaps he will perform that service for Emily's neighbour.
Joan, you are right, once I get a comfy position and get to sleep, it does help. How is your ankle lately?
Hope everyone is feeling as good as they can. Have a good weekend."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

You were up early Mig. We all got woken at 7.20 am as an RAF jet flew over on practice manoeuvres. Hope your daughter has a great time in London.
Batrbara, my son went with a different estate agent a couple of weeks ago and had 1 couple look round the house a few days later but nothing since. Apparently, they didn't like the fact that the garage wasn't attached to the house. I can't understand why more people aren't interested. I'm glad you had a lovely time with your niece yesterday. And the world has been put right.
Joan the days just fly past. Quite scary really. Hope you and Sue have a good weekend.
Kath, I'm glad you owned up to the crumbs. I was wondering if I'd been sleep walking and gone in to the cake tin.
Forgot to tell you the other day. My sister has 3 teenage girls. Her 13 year old keeps her bedroom spotless. The 15 and 18 year olds leave everything all over the floor. My sister took pictures of the very untidy rooms and posted them on FB. Then she put everything in to black bin liners and put them in the front garden shortly before the girls came home. She then put a notice on the gate saying that if anyone wanted to look through the bags, they could help themselves to anything they wanted. Needless to say, the bedrooms are now very tidy and everything has been put away.Christine0 -
Just a short visit, will have a cuppa and cake while I'm here though.
I rang my health clinic yesterday, X-ray results were back. Satisfactory - I suppose that means there are no signs of any infection left in my lungs.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon all a glorious day here ..hope you all have the sun but set to get too warm next week 30s
Glad your Xrays are clear Kath..its a worry when waiting for results..thanks for cleaning the crumbs up and glad you enjoyed the cream tea..
Christine that is brilliant and really made me laugh..why didnt I think of throwing my sons stuff in the garden...they were both very untidy..and still are apparently..mind you they are good at ironing and cooking
your son will sell soon ,people are a bit more picky because there are so many house for sale...
Hello Joan hoe you and Sue are enjoying the sunshine..Im not in to much pain honest...but I know you are suffering..I think we learn to live with it...no choice I suppose
The attack in Tunisia is awful to put it mildly..I just cant imagine how scary it was for everyone... how on earth these people can just shoot at random .....enough said..Love
