Hello all,
It's done nothing but drizzle all day long here.
Barbara, just above all the links to facebook etc, you will see "no comment" or "1 comment". Click on that, and a comment box will appear. Then you can put whatever you want to say in there.Hope the hygiene people approve of what I've done in the cafe. Don't want to let Toni down. I hadn't noticed that you'd clean it too.
Mig, can't wait to see your photos. Can't explain about the washing, it seems to multiply in the bags.
Christine, I suggested salad as I thought it was too hot for anything else. Have as much strawberries and ice cream as you like.
Cate, glad you like the blogs. I like vile din as a name for the violin, if I ever had a go on one, that's what you'd get. :P
Joan, waiting to hear a progress report on Lexi if you are feeling OK. I'm not a pet owner, or a great pet lover, but I know how important they are to many people, so hope Lexi is doing well.
will just have a quick dust.
and buy some fresh provisions and cleaning stuff."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Applerose, its sad to think of you getting tearful by the choice of music. It must have caught you unaware out-and-about. I can't listen to Nessun Dorma because my Dad used to sing it. Unfortunately it became the anthem for Italia 90 (football) a year after he died!
Thank you for the spring clean Kath!
Cate surely not a vile din? Lucy got a merit, 79 out of 100. considering she messed up her scales at the start (she said she was anxious) I think she did well.
Yesterday I spotted 2 fox cubs in our garden. One of them went even on the trampoline!!
I have poedietry appointment this afternoon so just time for the school holidays, although its not as bad as usual. Just going for a wash and brush up,
Take care all,

Elizabeth Well done to the lovely Lucy, that's a great result. Cake all round....preferably salted caramel!
Just put some washing out, and kicked off my shoulders. I know it's not a good idea but I do love washing dried outside. No sun here but warm enough to sit out. My friend is calling later. She usually brings something from the bakers so I've got the kettle on ready.
When I sold the salon, I kept some of the hair products and all of the nail stuff. Just painted my nails, and managed to knock a full bottle all down my best jeans. I suppose I could pretend it's the latest fashion!......Cate.x0 -
Barbara, I think it could be because I'm a member of G***le. I'll have to see if I can find out how non members can comment. If you have an AIM identity, you can use that. Otherwise you have to have an identity on one of the others. Sorry. Emily has put another page on hers but I can't get moving with my next page about pets. I anyone would like their pet included, please pm me a some information of him/her, like age and how he/she became part of your family. I will then pm you an email address where you can send me a photo if you would like. I would only use your first name, with no other info about you except to mention Arthritis Care forums.

Kath I did wonder about being a member...we don't have any pets , only next door cats that keep trying to move inbut what a good idea..tell Emily I like her blog..and yours
our yougext gd nearly 3 has a date for her tonssils out the 29th of this month, at Manchester childrens hospital..then its her 3rd birthday on the 4th August....
am going to sit in garden...with some nibbles..Love
Barbara0 -
Had a lovely day out with my daughter, shopping, cinema and lunch ,sitting with a cuppa and a biscuit now,Tired but happy. Mig0
-
Morning all..the sun is shinning...
Mig tired but happy is really good, I remember saying this when our first GD was born and we looked after her...I bet you and your daughter put the world to right
Today we are going to visit OHs niece..she lives on her own and its her birthday...she is 60...so we are taking her out for lunch..
we live on a road that used to be a country lane..then the added a new rd to the motorway..so its never ending ..you remember the accident just before Christmas..well we have had 2 since...not on ours this time..the cars fly up and down, so I am trying to get some bumps or anything to slow them down, we have a few children in the st and its an accident waiting to happen
The kettle is on for anyone that wants a cuppa ..hope everyone's doing ok..Love
Barbara0 -
Morning all,We did put the world to rights, saw the Minions so funny ,had spagetti and meatballs in Prezzo ,I've been invited to a retirement afternoon at the school i worked at and was a governor for the head is retiring she taught my children so we shopped for an outfit, nipped in sa****rys for some bits and bobs and had a taxi home.
I will have a cuppa got some lemon drizzle cake too .
Hubbys sister is in hospital she's in her late 70s and has been told she has copd and told she must stop smoking ,she has lost a lot of weight the doctors have said she will have to stay in till her appetite picks up,so we are going to visit today. Mig0 -
Mig, you always seem to be on the go. Wish I was. Tired happy is good. Glad you had a good day. Hope your OH's sister's diet gets back on track. My mam had COPD. A terrible disease. My mam wouldn't give up smoking as she had convinced herself she would get cancer if she did.
Barbara, you mentioned the health people are due in the cafe. They went to one of the restaurants in our High Street and found it was filthy. The owner is facing a very hefty fine or possibly prison it was so bad. He hasn't even been shut down. That is so sad that you wake up crying for your mum. She is someone that you miss terribly no matter what your age or how long ago you lost her. It's only been 4 years since I lost my mum but I still sometimes expect her to turn up somewhere. Yes the ball is still there. I think he's decided it's silly to try. Not long till your GD had her tonsils out. She should feel much better after that. Hope you had a good day with your niece. Happy birthday to her. Good luck with getting the speed bumps. I think they do help if you get the right ones. Ours don't go all the way over the road. Although most cars do slow down, some have found out where to steer the wheels and still go fast.
Kath, I'm up to date with the blogs. They are really good and interesting. See you've been busy getting in things for the cafe.
Joan, I'm glad Lexi is doing well. She must like her dumbell. My eye seems to be back to normal now. Thanks for asking.
Elizabeth, I wasn't caught unaware with the music. I knew there was going to be a pipe band there but I feel I need to face up to it and try to control myself. It's not working very well. Sounds as if you are the same with Nessun Dorma. Lucy did really well with her music test, especially as you said she hadn't practised enough. How lovely seeing the foxes. Did they have a bounce on the trampoline?
Cate, I love getting the washing outside. I don't have much myself but there is a lot at work so I enjoy getting that on the line. Hope your shoulders have eased. Oh no, hope your jeans are salvageable. If not, I'm sure you could start a new trend.Christine0 -
I've had quite a good week at work so far, although I've done more hours than usual up till now so I can have Friday off. It's my oldest GS's last day at hos junior school and they are having a service at the church we are all going to. Then they are going out for a meal. Only his mum will go to that so I might spend the rest of the day with my son and my other 2 GC. Went in to the garden to pick some cherries and about half of them had been eaten so I picked all the rest. I don't mind the birds having a few but they're not getting all of them.Christine0

Hello all, feeling very tired today. Been a bit emotional with my chemotherapy group, as I don't feel part of them any more, but I won't leave as I might need them again eventually. Everyone here, and those in my RA facebook group are all I need at the moment.
Got some washing on the line.
But after this mug of coffee I must have a lie down if there is a bed free. Where's the lovely duvet cover cate got for us? Oh, it's on the line.
Never mind, it's too warm for a cover anyway. Hope all are feeling reasonably well."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon all..thought it was still morning
Mig how nice, you will be able to catch up with old freind at the school, dont forget your camera it nice to be able to look at the pics when its over with..hope hubbys sisre will be ok, smoking is such a powerful drug..I hope the can help her give up
Christine we had a good time with hubbys neice thanks...we took her a big cake to share amongst the residence, she is badly disabled due to an accident when she was little, so she has her own place in an home and its lovey..they had decorated the lounge for her..it isent long since you lost your mum....you must really miss her..it not easy..glad you could up the hours and have some time offblimey the cafe must have been dirty, I was watching them giving out warnings on the tv..and was thinking but yes people are still eating there till they clean up  dont children seem to grow up quickly..off to senior school...hope you enjoy the service
kath...what a shame you feel left out, hopefully you wont need then again, and like you say, you have us lotyou enjoy your nap, sorry the duvet has been washed...but like you say its a bit warm ...mine ended up on the floor last night, but I dont fell secure without it..
not seen Joan around for a couple of days, hope she is ok, bless..she has had quite a few ops, and she wont mind me saying her and Sue her twin, have cerable palsy...and she was the one that pushed her sister round in a wheelchair...dont think she will tell me off for saying so..
very warm here, so all the windows are open..I have a peice of net curtain over my bedroom window stuck on with velcro then I can have the window open and no insects

Hello everyone,
Kath, given everything you have gone through, it would be strange if you didn't feel emotion. Don't hide it either. I have always found genuine emotion and tears so helpful from others during hard times. None of this "stiff upper lip, you've got a lot to be thankful for" stuff.
Chris, it sounds like work is much easier for you when you don't have anyone watching you, and you can go at your own pace.
I've brought some pies and cakes from the bakery I told you about. Our Kath will be ready for some when she wakes up. There's plenty for everyone who comes in. Barbara shouldn't be long, and she luffs a good pie.....Cate.x0 -
Hello everyone
I hope you have all had a good day.
no Barbara I don't mind what you say. I have chased my ap up they say it will come.
you all have a lot to cope with take care
joan xxtake care
joan xx0 -
Sorry you are feeling down at the moment Kath. You are bound to get emotional now and again. Hope you got some rest and are feeling a little better now. (((hugs)))
Barbara, it's good that your OH's niece has her own place in the home. It's nice that it was decorated for her. I don't think cafes and restaurants should be allowed to stay open till they are properly cleaned up. I need my duvet on in bed even if I'm too hot. I can't sleep without it.
Cate, yes work is much easier when I'm on my own. There's normally a few people around and they can all be in different rooms and moving from one room to another so it can be a pain. I'll have some cake please with a cuppa.
Joan, hope they contact you soon with your appointment.
Finished work just after lunch time so spent some time in the garden. Cut the top of a mahonia (a big, very spiky shrub) then cut back one border. I use hand shears but think I need to invest in the ones with long handles as my hands are really sore now. I will do these things. :roll:Christine0 -
Morning all...think its going to rain here...
Joan its good to see you , I worry when you are missing..hope that appointment comes very soon...
Christine..good for you getting the jobs done, we have just bought long handled lopper from As*a..£2 and thet are brilliant ..and have cut branches at least 2 inches wide...sorry not into metricI couldnt beleive the price, and thought it was wrong ...but the till said £2..
Cate I must have just missed you yesterday...thanks for filling the larder with cakes and pies...think I had a little to muchhope you are doing has well as possible
we have more baby blacbirds , it seems a bit late..but they come to the patio door eating the dried cat food...think they have gone off the bird food..
might see you all later..hope you have a good dayLove

Thank you for good wishes for hubby's sister unfortunately after further tests scans and whatever it turns out she has lung cancer she is very frail so we don't think surgery is on the cards but we are meeting with the rest of the family and a surgeon this afternoon to discuss with her what options if any she has,she does know what's wrong with her and has taken it well or seems to have done.
Hope you all have a good week-end. Mig0 -
Afternoon mig, cate, barbara, joan, christine, and anyone else who might pop in.
mig, so sorry to hear about your hubby's sister. it would be a bad enough diagnosis for anyone, but as she is so frail, it does make things more difficult. I hope your meeting with the family and the surgeon proves fruitful as to treatment options.
barbara, perhaps your baby blackbirds think they are cats.Hope the cat doesn't mind. :? But how lovely to have them come right up to the patio door. OH is green with envy. Most of our birds have disappeared, but the Magpies have started to visit. We had a horde of screaming banshees in the shape of starlings the other day. THEY MANAGED TO GET INSIDE THE FEEDER!!!
So OH closed it.
Christine, after some encouragement from the group, I have passed through the vale of gloom and now found my equilibrium again.I love the smell of Mahonia flowers.
Joan, you too have a lot to cope with, I hope your appointment isn't too long coming.
cate, I'm usually quite an upbeat person, so hate being so 'mardy' it never lasts long though. And with lovely online friends such as the cafe dwellers and my other RA group, I can't stay grumpy for too long. Now, where are those pies and cakes. yum yum yum.

I'm in holiday mode now, although Lucy has 2 days and Dan 3. Lucy is leaving Junior school too Applerose.
Had my podiatry appt but they 'let' someone else go in before me as I was about a minute late. I heard them say 'yes come on in' and saw them disappearing into the room at my appointment time. Trouble was I had to get this done before Lucy finished school and I was pushing it as it was so I was running late by the time I finally got in. Of course they did not like me telling them off for letting someone else in before me....you weren't there...etc.
Anyway the storms have been a little scary for Lucy so she's been in my room. I think we might have some more. Thankfully no power cuts or floods though.
Barbara will the removal of the tonsils help with all her breathing difficulties? Can't believe she is 3!
I did a little bit of weeding. most of our borders are full of brambles and wild flowers unfortunately so its a never ending battle and doesn't help that yet again the secateurs have gone missing!
Hoping Toady gets to pop in and has a good weekend.

Mig I am so sorry to hear about your SIL,if it helps any they decided to operate on my brother,,we thought it was giving him the best chance,,but it didn't..they can keep her comfortable and that is what counts,,thinking of you all...
Elizabeth of course you will remember her being born...they are not sure if it will help her chest, but she has trouble swallowing so hopefully it will make a big diffidence,,its rotten when you can quite make the time for your appointments..glad you got it done though...poor Lucy I feel for her..the thunder and lightening terrify me...we didn't get your storm thank goodness..
Joan the cats are a problem here with the birds, but we keep an eye out for them , and the feeders are high up..
Kath its the first time its has happened with the backbirds...they dio like the dried cat food...but I would hate the cats to get them, we lost a wood pigeon last year to the cats..we do have lots of magpies and the have raided a nest ...not sure what was in it...haven't had many starlings..they do learn fast
Its Iron man tomorrow..and they cycle past our house so will be up early to take some pics..they come form all over the world...its 2.4 miles swim in the nearby flash..then a 112 miles cycle and then a marathon...make me tired typing it..they come past pour house from 6am..and I usually miss the first ones but hopefully I will be up...and there are women contestant...
Its been a very hot day here today..hope we dont get a storm..
Hope toady is doing ok..and got that appointment...Love
