    Hell everyone!

Such good news that cate is in fact quite well and has been having a great day in the Cotswolds  Big PHEW!!!

My lucky MIL lives there ;)

Gosh Kath that sounded scary! Oddly enough Lucy takes her clobazam (epilepsy) every other night. I think it makes more sense to have a lower dose daily, but they know best don't they?

Glad to hear popcorn is good for us :)

Barbara I won't see any of that money!! Husband will stash it away for our retirement

You know Lucy's best memory (the one she uses for her hypnotherapy) is of us all playing shops with a till paper money and the entire contents of my larder when she was about that age! Charley used to play too as well as their cousins of a similar age :)

Christine I love the sound of where you live - proper community spirit and lost socially going on :)

I'm glad you didn't need your photos signed - saves a lot of time - I think we all look odd on passport photos!!

    Love

Sounds as if you had a lovely time Cate. I've heard it is a lovely place.

Barbara, the baby will love her till. Bet she already knows how to use the card. :splash: Hope you had a better night last night.

Kath, hope you're feeling ok now and the pred works for you.

Toni, your story of playing with the till and the larder contents reminded me of a day when I was little. We lived in 2 rooms, one was the bedroom and the other was a kitchen/living room. I remember dragging everything I could in to the one room to play house. I think my mam had gone out to hang the washing out and got a shock when she came back in. I think our small town and our county town are both making a big effort now with community spirit. There does seem to be a lot going on now.

Joan, hope you and Sue and the doggies are ok.

I was babysitting the baby last night so my son and his wife could take the older two to the festival finale. She was already in bed so I didn't get to see her. The finale was set in the grounds of a very old church of which there isn't much left. They had set up lanterns everywhere using plants pots and all manor of things with fire in them. Even inside the church. Sounds as if it looked lovely. There were supposed to be a few fireworks but they were very late on and didn't finish till 11.30pm so they came home around 11.

I always used to put the ironed clothes in to the appropriate wardrobes and drawers at work. Now that the kids are all older, they had started arguing because they couldn't find their clothes as I was putting them in the wrong place. They're all about the same size now. My boss suggested putting all the shirts in the wardrobe in the spare room and everything else on the bed in there. Problem with that there are now 5 people's shirts/tops in one wardrobe and 5 people's clothes piled up on the bed. None of them are picking their things up and putting them away. Waste of time ironing them I think. Well that's there problem. :hammock:

Had a better night but the pain clinic wasn't mush help.. they hadn't a clue who I was and she hadn't had time to read my notes she was ready for home...anyhow she agreed to an injection in this shoulder so that will do :)
Toni how lovely that the memory's helped Lucy ..our brain is so powerful..so glad it worked for her... :D I think our money is being put away for OHs retirement...hes only 68... at least he gets the old age pension...some people wont get that till they are nearly in there 80s...
Joan hope Lexi is recovering ..any signs of that appointment ...you look after yourselves...
Christine what a shame the little one was in bed..I love me time with our GC..especially the baby..it sound lovely in your town..lots going on..I can imagine the confusion with the clothes you iron...I would pile them all up and let them sort out what is there's ..Im the same with our 2 eldest GDs I cant tell whose is whose... :?
Kath that is all you need low blood pressure...I hope the new regime in meds will help soon...I would have to have them on a chart to remind me what Im taking.. :splash: glad you can talk to your rheumy ...
DIL has sent me some pic of the baby this morning with her new bike for her Birthday..her face is a picture...they have all gone to Blackpool pleasure beach ..our son had some holidays..but its just started raining really hard.. :swim-shark:

    Hello everyone,

Well, after having a lovely time recently, I'm absolutely devastated right now. My elder son and I had made arrangements for him, his wife, and the little one to come for the Bank Holiday weekend. Now I'm told that he will stay with me, whilst she and my granddaughter stay ten miles away in an hotel. I have a very large family home, where my boys grew up, so plenty of space for privacy. I'm afraid I broke down and said I find this an insult, and a step too far in how I'm treated by her. I have spent a fortune on a cot, special mattress, lovely bed linen, stair gates, toys.....the lot. I truly am at a complete loss as to why she is doing this. I have only ever welcomed her in my home. I have only seen my granddaughter twice, and she's two in October. I feel so so sorry for my son, who is in full agreement with everything I've said. I can't take any more heartbreak though and I feel I'm worth more, so I've told him to cancel the visit. I realise that she's won, but I don't care any more.

Kath I hope you are still feeling the benefit of your meds. A bit of sun would help too.

The pain clinic sounds very hit and miss Barbara, but maybe the injection will help.

Joan, I hope Lexi is OK getting her stitches out. Has she been wearing one of those lamp shade type things? Our dogs hated them.

I think I might move up to your town Chris, always so much going on. We used to go up to Northumberland a lot, which is further up than you I know, but the folk were lovely and friendly.

Toni, , it is so good to see you, and to hear how well Lucy is doing. I feel exhausted sometimes just reading how much you do! What a girl!

I'm pleased to hear that the news about your sister-in-law is better than you expected mig

Right, I need sustenance after my rant, so I'm going to have an egg and bacon buttie, and a big builders......Love to you all....Cate.x

Oh cate you poor poor thing!!!!!!

    That is really awful:(

I cannot believe it and do not understand it at all. Sadly the only person in a position to sort it out is you son and that will be very hard for him.

He has to get it through to her that YOU are important to him just as he hopes their child will be to her when she grows up.

At least you have good friends - here and in 'real-life'

I wish I could do more, but in the meantime some ((())) for you

Christine kids are very lazy aren't they at putting their clothes away. She'd be better getting more rails and more hangers so you can hang everything up. At least them your efforts won't be wasted :?

Sounds like you also had great imaginative play as a child :)

Hi Joan thank you all is well here I hope so with you and that Lexi is still on the mend :)

Barbara I am a bit unimpressed about your pain clinic appointment!! Do you have a follow-up booked (earlier in the day)? At least you are having your injection.

How gorgeous baby having a bike!! I bet she adores the freedom :)

Hi Kath :) MORE blogging!! You are amazing! I hope the low bp can be sorted it's as worrying as high isn't it?

    Love

Feeling very upset for our Cate right now. It's a pity you can't have a heart to heart with her to find out why she is treating you this way. It's just not on!! :x Sending you very big, soft hugs and some sunshine.
    :sunny:

Joan, people are a bit odd sometimes, to be friends for that long, then suddenly and with no explanation, for that to end. :? Happy to hear Lexi is definitely on the mend.

Hope Toni, Toady, Elizabeth, Barbara mig and Christine and all keeping reasonably well.

I'm here Barbara. You were right. Just giving my eyes a break from the computer. Well that's not good that the pain clinic weren't ready for you. Hope the injection helps. I do just put all the clothes together but they only take the one thing they want and leave the rest. It would take them an extra couple of seconds to pick up a few more things. A lot of the clothes got dumped on the floor the other day because my boss wasn't well so slept in the spare room. They're still there. I'm not picking them up. Hope it didn't rain too much where your son was. And hope there's nothing too wrong with your niece.

Hope Lexi is ok tomorrow when she gets her stitches out, Joan.

Thanks for letting us know about the blogs Kath. Will go and have a look.

Cate, that is unbelievable. What is the matter with the woman? Even if she did have a problem with you, surely she can see that her husband and the little one have every right to spend time with you. I feel like giving her a good shake. (((hugs)))

Toni, storage isn't something my boss is very worried about so the clothes will all have to stay piled up. Hope all is well with you.

Managed to spend a couple of hours in the garden this afternoon. Got some tidying up done. I was going to cut down a few things which have about finished flowering but they were still covered in bees and still quite a few buds still to open. Lots of raspberries ready. Yum.

    Morning all
Kath I did read your blog, and its was lovely to hear all about your mum and dad..its so sad when they have to be separated but at least you knew she was safe...and all your family in Australia..have you been to see them..I also saw Emilys pie..tell her to send some to the cafe next time and I do love her red shoes...we used to go to the Howarth 1940s weekend..dont think I could do it now but the atmosphere was brilliant like she says.. :bouncing-ball:
Christine you keep on resting your eyes they are so precious..I dont blame you for not picking there things up..and its typical of teens to just take what they are wearing and leave the rest...its remind me of our 2 sons when they were young ..its says we are in for better weather next week
so you might have more raspberry's..its something I have never grown..
Its raining here again..hopefully this afternoon will be better off to the garden center...hope everyone's has a good day...xxxxx

    Hello everyone,

    Raining here, so staying put.

I really appreciate all the lovely support. For some reason, I'm reluctant to tell people exactly what's going on. I had a chat with my son and I'm very worried about him. He is so torn, when he should be enjoying just being a daddy. He has a very stressful job, which he's worked hard for, and he has to travel a lot. I can't have him worrying about me too. I've told him we'll just put it aside for now. I don't know what else to do.

I'm thinking about little Lexi and hope Joan and Sue are OK. There's nowt so queer as folk is there Joan?

I'm a bit tired today, not been sleeping well again, so will have a little rest on our comfy bed. Then get the kettle on for Barbara, and the rest of my lovely friends.....Much love to you all....Cate.x

Cate I'm with you on this. Some people do have issues which they cannot talk about, or it is the way she has been bought up and she doesn't know any different. She obviously has problems, is anxious or insecure. Try not to think it is your fault. It will be very difficult for your Son though as she will give him a hard time and expect full attention. I do think you should go ahead and enjoy his visit and bite your tongue if she is rude to you.

Barbara I hope your Niece will be alright.

I'm still doing well and clearing the backlog. I even ironed OH's tops that have been in the basket for about 3 months.

My eldest is going to the Peak District next week so I've been 'spending' online. I think I have everything now. Then I might take the kids away same time for a last minute break. Actually I fancy a trip to the seaside.

I have done some gardening today too......sun is on and off. It can't make up its mind!

    Hello Everyone :)

Looks like you've all managed some gardening! I hope you are all not to achy today ;)

We're off to the QE for Intrathecal chemo today...possibly without any sedation

    Elizabeth
I do hope you get to the seaside while you feel up to it you do deserve a break very much.

Sounds like the eldest is due for some fun :)

Cate I hope we help a little even if it's only by being here. Elizabeth might just be right your DIL might have stuff going on that we don't understand. My own husband was terrified to tackle his first wife (an alcoholic who later died of it when my step was 5) in-case she got my stepdaughter.

He did not confide in his Mum until much later.

BUT...your DIL probably doesn't realise that your GD will want to find out for herself one day and then she'll know you as the lovely lady you are :)

    Barbara
we had plenty of rain too, but hoping for a better weekend :) Was the garden centre good? I bet if you're like me you want to buy everything!! I hope you get the date for your shoulder jab soon.

Your poor niece suffering with her feet at 29 - she sounds a blessing to know though.

Christine - I hope your eyes aren't too bad today.

My stepdaughter used to treat the pile on her bed as though it was another drawer helping herself to clean clothes from there!! She has grown out of that now though :)

Good that the bees are still pollinating!!

KathT thanks for your kind wishes I hope you are doing ok? I agree with Barbara - Emily needs to send some of her baking over here it would do well in the café Love to you xxx

Joan I wonder what is wrong with your friend? How very odd, but you know what? You don't need people in your life who upset you like that. Love to you Sue and doggies xxx

    Love to you all

Hello everyone, well it's been a bit sunny here, but mainly cloudy, but oh so hot and humid. Well either that or I've started having hot flushes. I shan't be very pleased if I have, as I never had any when going through the menopause. Maybe it's the reduction in steroids - she said hopefully.
    :too-hot:

mig, how exciting for your daughter going trekking in Alaska. Hope you and OH enjoy your trip too.

Toni, oh my goodness. I hope Lucy has managed her inthracal today and that they gave her sedation first. :o I'm OK thanks, just get very tired due to the drop in Pred.
    :deckchair:

Elizabeth, I don't know how you do it. Just reading of all you have do and still to do just exhausts me, all that ironing, and gardening. I hope you manage to get a trip to the seaside.
    :hammock:

Cate, you are such a fantastic mother, always putting others before yourself. I do feel for you and your son being in such a difficult situation. ((((Cate)))).

Barbara, I keep asking Emily for some of the food she makes, it sounds so tasty. All she says is "Mum, I never share food" Even her boys didn't get any pie, but she did say they don't like pie, so they had pizza instead. Not very 1950s.

Christine, I'm not surprised you need to rest your eyes after being on your computer for a while. It makes your eyes really tired and sore. :?

Sending positive thoughts to Joan, Sue and Lexi (bet you didn't know I could speak fluent doggy language). :D Also hope that Toady is OK - I apologise if I've forgotten anyone. Brain is apparently absent today.

Joan - that is terrible timing falling out with Sue when you were in hospital!! Not sure she was really such a good friend :(

Barbara I hope OH did the grass? Pots are always useful. After all that rain yesterday I still need to water the plants as it's bone-dry out there!!

KathT Lucy gets steroid hot flushes too - it's not you at all only them :)

She did accept sedation - PHEW!!!! and needed a bag of fluid as she was tachycardic and dehydrated.

Mig it will be nice to think of your daughter visiting all those places won't it?

WHERE IS Toady?? I do hope she's ok as well as Elizabeth and Cate of course

I have a patch of 4 leaved clover which I will never get rid of :) I know it's a genetic mutation, but who cares eh?

Vitamin D out there alright today so I shall sneak out later for a bit.

Very sunny and warm, which is good for my neighbour who is getting married today. :sunny: Hope all are enjoying their weekend.

Barbara, what a cute pair of kitties you have. Lovely photo, I use Dropbox too. Just filled the cafe freezer with Emily's home baked pies. Beef and vegetable, steak and kidney, and some of her home made chocolate cake in the fridge. She's put two more pages up.

Toni, I had to read this twice, my eyesight is getting worse, and it worried me a bit. I thought you were talking about Lucy.
