Just had a quick read through and it looks like I haven't been in for a couple of days. Where does the time go? I'll pop back in the morning. All I can remember is someone was in bed naked without her collar on. :hammock:

Don't worry Christine it was only Daisycat!!! See you later

Barbara I reckon they must be gentlemen-cats if they let her eat first :)

How cute Baby helping you like that!!

I probably told you this one before, but when Charley was about 3 she picked all the 'apples' off my peony

    Bless them :)

Do we have pies in the fridge?

    c085.gif

I think today's special should be 1950's pie and mash :) (cheese and onion for veggies as we didn't exist then ;) )

    Lovely day again :sun:

Thank you for clearing that up for me Toni. Oooh, everyone thought it was Lucy. Wouldn't blame her if she did. :sunny: Oh your poor peony. Little ones don't know though, do they? I remember picking bunches of weeds for my mam and getting them off my kids and GC. Pie and mash sounds good to me. I have a patch of normal clover I leave for the bees but it'd be great to have 4 leaved. I'd leave it too.

Barbara, how lovely of the boy cats to let the girl eat first. I'm sure animals do think of others sometimes. What a lovely picture. The kitties look so cute. I'm sure the water features look better full of stones. :sunny:

Kath, it was a lovely day for a wedding. Hope they all had a good day. The pies sound delicious and so does the cake. I'd rather have pie than pizza but maybe that's my age.

Joan, sorry to hear your friend fell out with Sue. Worse for her while you were in hospital too when she probably needed the friend. I'm sure you are better off without that type of friend though. Hope you and Sue are enjoying some warmer weather.

Mig, trekking in Alaska sounds exciting. Your daughter will have a wonderful time. Hope she sends you lots of pics so you can see where she is as well as keeping track with her itinerary. Sounds as if your trip will me hectic but enjoyable.

Elizabeth, you have been busy. All that ironing and spending. Hope your eldest has a great time in the Peak District and you get to the seaside for some relaxation.

Thought I'd better post in two halves as it's taken me a while to read back and post.

Well I've done it. Spent hours and hours trying to find flights for Australia online. I was getting lost in it and getting stressed so I called in at the travel agent to see what they had. After a bit of phoning round, they got me flights which work out £80 cheaper than online and they'll through in a visa for free. I feel much better using them as I can call in with any questions and they'll check me in so no worries there. Just the insurance and train to sort out. That'll be much easier. I hope.

Then went to my son's and sat in the garden with a cider watching the girls on the trampoline. Dora the explorer and the monster. :swim-shark:

    Good Morning Toni and Christine
    :sun:
No sun here yet, although I'm hopeful. Yesterday was glorious and I made the most of it all day.

Christine Well done you for sorting out your trip. You will feel much more protected using the travel agent. When do you go? What an adventure!

Toni I love the peony-apples story. They are the things that stay in your memory and make you smile whenever you remember. Many years ago we tried growing strawberries. Treated them so lovingly, and finally they started to come through. A few more weeks and we'd be having our own strawberries and cream. Our little un who was also about three at the time, put the tin hat on that. He came running in with very red little chops, and told me that those little pink "pomatoes" were luvverly.

OK, now where's the pies. I'm going to have a few home made chips with mine. Anyone else? Cake too. Who needs the sun when we've got cake.

Much love to everyone else when they pop in......

Homemade chips cate?? YES please :)

Cheese and onion pie with mine and some of the veggie gravy too thanks :)

3 must be the age kids enjoy 'helping' in the garden most and are physically able to do our poor plants most damage ;) Well I am sure he loved his pomatoes!!!

    Christine!!
Well DONE booking the flights to Australia - I am so pleased for you that it's all sorted and you even saved money too! That will surely be a trip to remember :)

A cider in the garden sounds very nice too!

    Love to you all

Hello all, sorry for those who have missed the sun today. Have a double helping. :sun: :sun:

    :sunny: :sunny:

Toni, I certainly would understand if Lucy had to leave a few garments off, I daren't as I'd scare everyone. :o even myself.

Barbara, plenty more cheese and onion pies, Emily has definitely got the baking bug. Although she loves the meat and veg ones best. More chocolate cake too. :D

Cate, are there any homemade chips left? I'd love some with a poached egg, and ketchup to dip them in. Followed by Neapolitan ice cream (not that I'm fussy) Love the pink tomato story, luvverley.
    :bouncing-ball:

Christine, well done on booking your Australia flights. I'd probably end up in Antartica.
    :swim-shark:

mig, thank you for updating us on your MIL. It's good she has put a little weight on. Glad your daughter arrived safely too.

Hi mig - goo news about your SIL :) 2lbs is a good weight gain.

Lovely to see photos from your daughter - remember the days when we used to have to wait till they got back and then sift through 100's of holiday snaps

Barbara well the little girl has got a point hasn't she? 'Elf and safety' hahhaha!! I wish you had kept the diary up kids are sooo sweet :)

I have a baby Magpie! Found far to close to Daisycat's cat-flap for comfort so safely transported to the fruit enclosure made a few years ago for this purpose....7' high so plenty of room to practice flying if she lives. Also can open roof for parents to come in once Daisycat is in for the night - like now. I do hope she lives :? Where is Mell when you need him eh?

    Love

Ps Hi Kath :) Yes Lucy looks ok in the raw, but at her age way too shy ;)

Salted caramel ice-cream for us here :deckchair:

Hello to everyone not in today hopefully enjoying the sun.

Barbara, yes I'm a tad hot. :too-hot: Never thought I'd say this, but roll on winter. Actually autumn is my favourite season.

Hope everyone is feeling reasonably good and not eaten too many of Emily's pies and cake.

Think I'll get in the water to cool off for a bit.

To Joan and Sue. Hope you had a lovely day.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the weather and managing to keep cool. I've been to the dentist to be told that I'm still not keeping them clean enough. I spend 15 minutes twice a day brushing and flossing and sometimes brush in the middle of the day too. Don't know what else I can do except don't eat. I went to write my flight dates in my diary and realised I'll be away for nearly 5 weeks. I told the travel agent I wanted between 3 and 4. Had to tell my boss this morning. He said it was ok but don't think he was very impressed. Oh well. It's done now. I'd better go. My laptop is very hot and sounds as if it's about to blow up. :o

Christine, because of my Sjogren's I chew sugar free gum to keep my mouth moist. It also helps to keep it clean, have you tried it? Not everyone likes chewing gum though,

    :sun:

Just popped some more pies in the freezer, some fruit ones to have with the ice cream. Crumble too, cherry, apple, blackberry, and one with apple and blackcurrant. I've just polished off half a bar of Bour**ville. Much smoother than other dark chocolate.

    Joan said:

    love it.

Dad rang me on Sunday afternoon, he told me that my nephew Ben (my sister Anita's son) is coming over for a visit with his GF. They live in America, somewhere in New York. Can't help worrying about him over there, as he is mixed race and you hear such stories of the way some black people are treated. But he seems to be doing well and works for General Electric - or he did, don't really know what he is doing now. It will be lovely for Anita and dad to see him again, but I think they are spending a lot of time in London.
    :island-shark:

Hope everyong is feeling as good as they can.

Barbara, hope you enjoyed reading in the garden. This morning here was good but it clouded over this afternoon and the temperature dropped.

Joan, I think you're right about the dentists not wanting us to use our teeth to eat. Hope you had a good day today.

Ooo, Kath. I didn't think of that. I'll try the chewing gum. I have to see the therapist who will clean my teeth and give me 'hints and tips'. Think I'll have some of your crumble with custard but please don't tell my dentist. :sunny: There is still a lot of racism in America but it's not everywhere. Hopefully, your nephew doesn't see any of it. Will you get to see them?

I've been good again and not bought ice cream. Haven't got any naughty things in the house now, except a frozen scone and a couple of ice lollies which I have resisted. :sun:
