Hello everyone.. so sorry to have left you all worried   (I'm sure you'll all say I shouldn't feel bad but I do) should have come in and at least said hello before, every day I am 'just going to' but it's all been a bit :? with me lately. Since my last rheumy appt I don't really know what my next move is but I'm definitely not where/how I need to be, so I will sidle over into LWA & ask opinion if anyone wants a rundown of my symptoms (I'd find something more interesting to read if I were you!)

Much love & thanks to all for thinking of me (& I know I need not read back but I will anyway at some point as I'd like to know how everyone is too). :)

A cup of tea would be lovely as always.. xxxxxx

ps fyi yes I am a she-toad lol

TOADY, :D it's good to hear from you, but I just wish things were better for you. Help yourself to any of Emily's grub.
    :hammock:

Toni, that is super news about your Lucy. Very exciting, well done to her, and I'm sending hugs and very best wishes to both of you.

Emily has made some pies, using Quorn mince, onions and mushrooms. Gravy is made with vegetable stock and not meat extract. There are also some Quorn sausages to have with mash, or with fried egg and tomatoes as a breakfast.

Cate, hope you enjoyed the marmalade pudding. I hope the name sticker idea works for you. I hope your elder son manages to make that discussion happen for you.
    :splash:

Sending my best to Joan and Sue, Christine, Barbara, Elizabeth and anyone I've missed.

Big Congratulations to Lucy. She will do so well and hairdressing is a great career to have.

I have seen you Toady on LWA. You are suffering and I can only hope you can sort things out. I only ever lost tons of weight during a flare but gut problems I blame on my iron tabs. I also have to take omneprazole (sp) otherwise I suffer.

Christine the HUDL is good value and I was tempted to buy one but having tried my Daughter's kindle when she came to stay I bought one of my own. Yes it is a good sign your Dad is sitting up in the bedside chair.

I had a lovely piece of fresh cod today. I added mash and broccolli and it was delicious but it was such a big piece and the rest is likely to wasted. OH, for some reason decided he was making a chilli-con-carne

I'm glad your Son's are so supportive Cate and that is proof you are a lovely Mum. I'm sure a discussion will take place soon and some home-truths will come out.

We are on the last week of the hols and L. still needs to sort out her stomach issues and I'm starting to worry now as she is starting at a new school. We need to get this under control.

Horrible gloomy weather today although I was able to get my washing out on the line.

    Hello everyone,

Absolutely delighted at Lovely Lucy's news. One very proud mum eh Toni? That girl is gonna take on the world.

Pleased to see you Toady, but not happy that you're suffering.x.

I've received some beautiful flowers this morning from my son, saying love and miss you mum. Whilst this is lovely, it has really upset me because he is obviously unhappy and I can't bear that. I am so confused.

Will just grab a coffee, not much appetite right now, but that won't last long with Ems gorgeous grub around.......Much love to you all...Cate.x

Kath, can you try some different drops for your eyes. Mine get itchy in the hayfever season. Drives me nuts.

Barbara, I go away on 22 September so 3 weeks on Tuesday. Bought my flight socks today so I'll look sexy while I'm travelling.

Toni, so that is your news. I read it on your thread. Wonderful. I'm sure Lucy will love the course.

Good to see you Toady but sorry you are having problems. I haven't read your thread yet but hope you can get some help to sort things out. (((hugs)))

Kath, I think I fancy some of the sausages and mash with an egg on top.

Cate, how lovely to get the flowers. Yes your son must be unhappy at the situation but I think it's only he that can sort it out.
Joan, I hope you and Sue are having a good weekend.

Elizabeth, I like a nice piece of cod too. I hope you manage to get L's stomach problems sorted soon.

Well my dad is now on a ward and they have taken him off all the tubes and wires although he still has the cannulas in. He was asking for his glasses but they're not with his things at the hospital so I went to the home and found an old pair. Better than nothing I guess. I really want some cake or chocolate. Been very good for a few weeks now but haven't got any in the house so I'll have a rummage in the cafe cupboards to see what's there.

Hello all, hope you are having a good weekend. Yesterday was glorious and my son and his wife took OH and me to the Butterley Railway Museum in Ripley, Derbyshire. We had a lovely day, with trips on steam trains, and looked around a model railway and also some older engines and carriages in their exhibition hall.

I've just posted a blog about our trip if anyone is interested. :D

Oh dear, I hope it wasn't me that left the crumbs. No, I had poached eggs on toast followed by a buttered scone with jam. Very nice it was too. :D

Christine, my eyedrops are Hypromellose preservative free. I just think the skin in my eyelids gets sore from constantly being wet with the drops. Vaseline seems to help though.

Toni, I wish real housework was as easy as it is in here.

Kath, glad you enjoyed the railway museum. I love steam trains. Yes, when my eyes are wet, they get itchy and irritated. Glad the vaseline helps.

Barbara, my flight socks are black. It's the only colour I could find. They'll look good with my white trainers. :bouncing-ball:

I managed to do a bit of tidying up in the garden. My apple tree is full of lovely big red apples but I can't get them off the tree no matter how much I twist them. Guess they're not quite ready yet. And my cucumber has lots of flowers on and a few little cucumbers.

I was talking to my boss the other day about how many holidays I have left. My trip is going to take half a day more than I have and I still need some for Xmas so he's asked me to work tomorrow. I've really been looking forward to being off but I guess I can't have my cake and eat it. :splash: This is me having a strop.

You seem to be well prepared Applerose ad not long to wait now. I also wonder why things always go missing in hospital! Just wondering if your Sister took them for safe keeping, although that doesn't help your Dad if he needs them.

I love steam trains Kath. We went on the Bluebell railway but the kids fell asleep as it was such a hot day and we'd had to wait at the station for ages. We were able to break up a long journey as OH drove to the next station to collect us but boy the train was slow!

More rain today. We picked some more apples yesterday as there are so many but we can't eat that many and I want to clear the tree away and use the space for a new swing. Dan loves to swing, he always has since he was a baby. He wants to go on a canal boat for his birthday next weekend.

Plugging Lucy with meds but I think it is too late now as school starts on Wednesday. New school is a whole new set of problems so I'll have to pop in and see welfare and explain the situation to them. Her old school was brilliant.

Barbara my OH never does any housework. I do get so cross as the windows are filthy, floors need a hoover etc. He loves buying cleaning stuff but its just sits in the cupboard!

Cate how lovely to get flowers. I need a fresh bunch to brighten up the house.

Hope I've not missed anyone. I would say hello to Frog but she's too busy cleaning!

    Elizabeth x

Joan hope you can get out and about. The weather is turning now.

Message from Emily, I think she was supposed to send a photo with it, because I asked her to send some, but none arrived.

"Guilt free potato salad and cheddar and bacon tart, made by me. Ginger cake to come tomorrow xx" she did promise me a photo of ginger cake when it's ready. :D

Elizabeth, could you send us some apples please, Emily can make apple pie and apple crumble with them. :)

mig, so sorry to hear your lupus is flaring. Hope it passes soon. :(

Barbara, I appreciate your comment on my poetry.

Joan, yes our day out was excellent, first trip out for ages. :o

Christine, I have 5 pairs of black flight socks, got them from A**a. I used to wear them all the time, but not sure whether I should with vasculitis. I must ask my rheumy next time I see her.

Hope Toady, Toni and Cate are all OK.

Joan, I hope you and Sue are doing ok.

Barbara, did you get the rain today? It never stopped here. Hope you got out.

Mig, sorry you are having a flare. Hope it doesn't last long.

Elizabeth, my sister doesn't have my dad's glasses. I'd never been on a canal boat but I'd love too. Will you go on one with Dan? Hope things go smoothly on Wednesday for Lucy.

Kath, guilt free potato salad sounds good. So does the tart.

What a day. I'd accepted I had to work today but then got annoyed again. I've worked there for 16 years now. For the first 9 years, my boss let me believe he didn't have to pay me for holidays, as I was part time, so I was only ever off for 2 weeks a year. A couple of years, I didn't take a single day off. It was when I found I couldn't pay some bills when I was off that I phoned the benefits office and asked if I could claim for time off and they told me he should have been paying me. I never got an apology or any of the money he owed me.

When I took my glasses out of my bag at work, I found I had given my dad my glasses and I still had his. As my brother was going to see him, I asked him to take the glasses and bring mine back. He phoned later to say there were no glasses at the hospital. So both dad's and my glasses have gone missing now. I've also had my sisters on at me to turn the internet on my phone so they can leave me messages on FB rather than text because FB is free. It'll cost me to use the internet so I'm not doing it. They were also upset because one sister left a message on FB, despite me telling her I was at work and wouldn't get it till teatime, so I didn't get it till it was too late. Then they were annoyed because my brother hadn't phoned me to say how dad was while he was with dad. They send a message later that night. And apparently, I didn't give one sister the latest update when it was the other sister who was there after me. :splash: I'm having another strop. :swim-shark:

Morning all..lovely and sunny for the time being..sorry if I sound like the weather lady...
Mig I was worried after reading your thread in LWA..but its good to see but not good you are scratching..It can be horrible..I dont have lupus but my hairdresser does.hope things improve very soon..
Kath I do like to read your blogs..they are both written so well .this make then so interesting.. I can see the likeness between you and Emily..think its the confidence... :)
Oh Christine ..your glasses have gone now..this is awful the price apart from you needing them...I hope they make there way home.. I have changed my package for my mobile..IM the same dont use the net now, so I got a much cheaper one..I dont blame you for not using it..think I told you about whatsapp..but not all phone can get it..its free for now...like I say family's  ..has for you holiday pay that is awful..your boss has got away with alot by the sounds of it..to get someone they can trust in there house is worth a fortune anyhow...now Im having a strop for you :sunny:
Elizabeth..what is it with men..my OH buys cleaning stuff and just puts it in the cupboard..he was cleaning the window with me sheen he said it says glass...so when the sun shines they are all cloudy ...he will do housework if I tell him what wants doing..I miss our neighbors apple tree..they used to give us pounds every year ..then they chopped it down
right must get something done..not a clue what... :hammock:

Oh Barbara he came home with more cleaning stuff today. He tried to sneak it into the cupboard without me seeing but I caught him! Hope all is well with the GD's.

Applerose that is suspicious that your glasses went missing so quickly! Does that mean you'll have to buy a new pair?
whenever I've employed a carer I had to write a contract and paid annual leave was worked out to a formula. I had a payroll company who were a great support. As for texting you usually get loads of free texts with mobile contracts. I never use fb on my phone. Your sisters like to moan methinks :)Besides you wouldn't want to be at their beck-and-call.

Last day at home for Lucy. she had a trial bus run this morning. I've had to sew names into all her new uniform and today my right hand was swollen but the worst thing is my eyes are not very good and I keep messing up so it takes longer.

I've taken a pic of the tree and will probably put in fb rather than here. We have tons of apples left.We used to peel and freeze them but they take up too much room.
    .
We went on a canal boat 2 years ago on a really sunny, late September day. I'm waiting for a nice weather report for this year.

Had a DWP visit today as D. will be 16 and they need to confirm he cannot manage his own affairs, money etc. He hummed and squinted his eyes throughout so wasn't too difficult to see for herself.

I'll leave a box of apples in the corner Kath.I'm told they are Bramleys.

hope Joan, sue and doggies are safe and well.
