I know Barbara. I want stamps in my passport. :splash:
Had a lovely afternoon. Watched my GS's footie match. Despite my son being unhappy at the positions the players were in (he used to be the manager), they won 5-1. Had dinner then played with Ruby with her doll's house. She told me some strange stories. There were aliens in her bed but they fell out and she is going to be a witch and wear a witch's hat and have a magic wand when she grows up and magic lots of rabbits. :sunny:Christine0 -
Morning all ..and its lovely and sunny
Christine these young ones do have good imaginations,, :island-shark: glad you enjoyed your day..I do think that children give us a lift...it would be lovely to have all the country stamp your passport .. :sunny:
GD been to the dentist to have her bottom brace fitted but they had to mend the upper one so she has to go back next month..her teeth are looking really good..she is back at school tomorrow..
been trying to get a couple of days away while the weather is good..but cant find anything suitable..a lift..twin beds near everything..not much to ask...at one time we would pack up and go and find somewhere..never mind there is always the garden... :deckchair: and thinking of Cate...

"thinking of Cate"......and here I am my little love. Any bacon butties? And a builders of course.
Saw my GP earlier. She is an absolute gem. She knows how things have been for me, and suggested I have a very low dose of Sertraline, just for a little while. I was immediately No, No thanks. I have never taken AD's, not even when my husband died. She said it is totally up to me, but she pointed out that things may get more difficult with Christmas looming. I never thought of that. So, I've got them, but can't make up my mind. This doesn't feel like me.
My friend and I are going to the Cotswolds again, at the end of October, and will meet up with my younger son and his family. It's awful, everyone is ignoring the "elephant in the room", but I'm hoping my other son can sort something out. Or at least tell me what I'm supposed to have done.
I think I will follow your example Barbara, and sit out with my book. Don't worry if I don't get in for a few days.
Much love to everyone.....Cate.x0 -
Hello all, hope this has been a good weekend for you.
cate's back, hooray, did you get any of the ginger cake? It was delicious. If you decide to take the ADs, I hope they work for you.
Got myself a 'salt pipe' and some crystal salts to inhale through it. I'm hoping it helps my nasal and sinus problems. My sharps bin was collected this morning, about time too.
Very tired, can't keep my eyes open. so as the sun is still with us I'll pop outside for a short nap. :deckchair:

Hello Joan Christine Cate and Barbara
All is well here.
Tomorrow's hearing is only the defendant entering a plea so fingers crossed she pleads guilty everyone please.
I am hoping all will go well at the meeting at Lucy's college where they feel to me to be trying to kick her off like she's too much trouble :? I might be worrying about nothing.
Cate I hope your other son can help and yes think about those ADs Christmas is loomingBig hugs to you ((()))
Joan is right sometimes we do need a little help
Christine I am glad you were able to get some bits and enjoyed the footie
Kath do let us know how the salt pipe works for you fingers crossed there too
Barbara I hope you can find a little break it will set you up for the winter
Love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
Barbara, I'm glad your GD's teeth are looking good. Wish they'd given me a brace when I was a child. My dentist said the problems I have with my teeth might have been prevented. Hope you manage to find a break away before the weather turns.
Cate, I don't like taking any meds at all. I was prescribed amitriptyline a while ago to help me sleep. Didn't really want to take them but they did make such a difference. Only took them for 2 months and didn't have any side effects coming off them. Your trip to the Cotswolds is something to look forward to. I really hope your son sorts things out.
Kath, I've not heard of a salt pot. I hope it does work for you. Did you manage to have a nap in the sun.
Joan, hope you and Sue have managed to enjoy some sunshine.
Toni, fingers crossed the defendant does plead guilty. I can't see why the college would think Lucy would be trouble. Hope the meeting goes well.
My DIL said she wants to do something for me before I go away. She's thinking of having a meal together. We're just trying to sort out when as they are busy all weekend before I go. Think we've decided on the Friday. And oops, I made a mistake. I said we were playing with Ruby's doll's house. She did actually tell me it's a dog's house because she has little dogs (and cats and rabbits) who live in it, not dolls. :sunny:Christine0 -

Christine how lovely buying things to take to Aussie I bet the children cant wait.. :bouncing-ball: you make the most of the sales...has for teeth I was the same..they took lots of mine out..in the 50s that is..and I have had trouble ever since..glad you had a good day with your son and family :sunny:
Cate..the trip away will do you good..its the best medicine good friends good food..and a laugh or two..I did take ADs around 9 years ago now..I took then for around 5 months..and they got me over a bad patch...they took a while to kick in but I think the new ones are better ..you have a lovey time away..
Kath how are things with you..sorry if you have said I do get muddled.. :? did they check for any blood clots..I got a netti pot and some salts but they haven't worked has yet...hope yours do..
Joan I hope he has turned up to do your gas certificate..I hate waiting for people ..then you can get out and enjoy some sun before it goes in
Will make a cuppa and sit by the window and have a ponder....
No signs of my MRI results yet..think they are on go slow...found a few rooms but they have baths..so no use to me..will keep trying..Love
Barbara0 -
Good afternoon to all of you. Brrr, it's cold here today and very cloudy. Don't fancy sitting out in this, so will bring the deckchair in and sit by the window with a cup of Cate's builders and a buttered scone with raspberry jam.
:deckchair:
Barbara, I don't have my scan until 21st. Wish I'd arranged it for sooner now. Oh well! My smoke pipe isn't like a netti pot, this link will take you to the Salitair site with a photo and explanation for those interested.

I hope you get your MRI results soon. :?
Joan, I hope your gas safety check has been done by now. I hate waiting in when they give you a long time scale. They invariably come just before the end of the time is almost over.

You know what Toni you could be right about the college thinking she may be too much trouble.I phoned prospective college for Jack and they seemed keen for him to come in and do a taster day this week but when I mentioned ASD diagnosis they went very quiet, lady lost her train of thought and then said they would send out the prospectus for 2016! I must say I feel pretty deflated.
I must also say they'll have more trouble with other kids than ours Toni!
Sad to say Dan's boat trip was ruined by someone playing very loud music from a moored canal boat half way through.
good to hear that GD's teeth are looking good. Applerose I'm another one who didn't get the treatment when young. The best thing I can do now is replace them all.
I hope the gas man turned up in the time slot Joan.
Not heard of the pipe Kath but hope it helps.
Okay I must pop off now as the kids are arriving home,

Hello everyone,
I don't know if it's just me, but we seem to be racing through September. I feel like we lost summer this year.
Talking about teeth, I've had to have a new front one. I bit into a peach, and cracked mine on the stone. It looks great, but feels strange, and I'm sure it makes me lisp a bit. It's true we don't seem to have had the same standard of care back in the day, as there is now Barbara. I also bought myself a wig recently, as I'm finding doing my hair a struggle because of my shoulders. I was laughing to myself thinking how my precious hubby would have joked about me putting me wig on, and me tooth in, then lisping. In the nicest possible way though. He used to tell me that I'd look stunning in a bin liner, and even though it wasn't true, he really believed it, bless him.
Has our Emily gone on strike? I can't find any pies or puds. I bet that Christine one has hidden them from me. She'll probably say she's only helping me not to put weight back on. Just wait til she leaves for Oz....Only kidding Chris, we're all going to miss you, but hopefully you'll find time for the odd post.
I'm so proud of Toni and Elizabeth, the way they fight for their kids. I was just the same with mine, probably to their embarrassment at times!
Did I read right, that our Kath has taken up pipe smoking? What a gal!
Thinking of mig, and hoping she's feeling a little better. I miss her lovely meals.
Glad you're all sorted with the gas now Joan. I think I remember you had some problems with your boiler, so hopefully now you and Sue should be set for the winter.
Right, seeing as there's nowt here to eat, I think I'll go the chippy.
Much love to everyone, especially anyone I've missed......Cate.x0 -
Joan, I always seem to be last on the list when someone is coming. Glad your gasman turned up eventually.
Barbara, I see you are still looking for a break. Hope you find something that suits you. Hope your mri results turn up soon. I hate waiting for results.
Elizabeth, it seems the colleges are maybe not keen on having students who have any condition. They really should at least give them a chance. If I went out on a canal, I would want to enjoy the peace and quiet. Can't understand people wanting the music so loud.
Cate, I feel as if we missed summer this year too. We had a few good days but not nearly enough. How lovely that your husband loved you the way you were. How did you know about the pies? I thought I'd sneaked them in to my suitcase without anyone noticing. I am hoping to still pop in while I'm away although, when I went to Spain a while ago, I took my laptop and couldn't get on the internet. Hopefully, I will in Oz.
I've been trying to sort out a suitcase. I've got a small one but not big enough. My son offered one but it's huge. I went to the market and found two the right size, only £17, but one had a broken lock and the other a broken zip. Put me off getting a cheap one so I went to D*benh*ms and found one reduced from £145 to £42. It's deep blue and covered in bright red poppies. Ended up buying myself a big white clock for the kitchen that I don't really need. :sun:Christine0 -
Morning all lovely and sunny...
Joan glad to see your gas man came...now you know all is safe..just a point do you still go swimming..I haven't heard you mention it lately...
Elizabeth its awful when the colleges think certain youngsters at to much trouble..these are usually the ones that will work hard...what a shame Dan's day was ruined its sods law that they had noisy people on board..hope he enjoyed the cake...
Cate what a lovely hubby...you must have so many lovey memories...has for the teeth I had a bridge fitted..well 2 to be precise..cost me an arm and a leg..and I have 3 wigs..Elizabeth has seen pics of me in 2...my GDs laugh when I put them on, but people say your hair is nice were do you have it cut...I am tempted to get a bright red one to shock them..
Christine..I had to laugh at the clock ..the things I buy that I dont need..especially if we go away for a few days I have to brings things back with me..glad you are sorted with the suitcase..now you can get packing..we haven't found anywhere..so will sit in the garden till it rains...
Like Cate says I hope Mig is doing a little better and thinking of toady..
still no results off the MRI so will ring again...a cuppa anyone...Love
Barbara0 -
Oh Cate, you do make me laugh. Pipe smoking indeed.
I didn't know you could smoke salt. Emily has been busy baking more pies, cakes, tarts, everything you could imagine. She will be delivering them later this afternoon when the boys have got home from school. I think she's made a banoffee cake in this lot. So enjoy.
Joan, my salt pipe seems to be helping my nose and my chest. Isn't that typical that the gas man left you until last. But at least it's done. We are due for a boiler service soon.
My granddaughter Willow has had one of her Meercat paintings displayed in two local libraries, one in her local library, and the other in the library of the next town to where they live. An achievement for anyone, but she has learning difficulties, and although she is 16, she is very young for her age. I'm very proud of her.
Well, Methotrexate tonight, and blood test tomorrow. Next week I have to book transport to the hospital for Monday 21st as that is when I have my CT scan.
Sending you all hugs and hope everyone is feeling reasonably well.

Hello all :sunny: nice today & nice tomorrow they say, so hope we are all getting the best of it.
Long story short, I now know more or less what I'm doing RA & med-wise, so once I rally a bit from recent events, I hope to reappear here, even if briefly & on/off. For now I hear that there are scones & raspberry jam (how did my eye happen to fall on that post?) so I am going to have a nice pot of tea & a scone, take a hold of myself, and if anyone wants me, I'll be mumbling to myself in a corner.
I hope everyone is as well as can be expected, & if there is any major news to the contrary, perhaps someone will kindly update me.
Many many thanks for continuing to think of me/ask after me. xx0 -

Barbara, I'm sure there will be room in my case for you. I will have to declare you when I get there though. :bouncing-ball: If you do get a red wig, we want pictures.
Kath, how wonderful Willow getting her pictures shown in the libraries. They must have been very good. Could I please have a sausage and tomato pie and a banoffie pie please? Do I put stickers on the freezer? I remember seeing something about stickers. :sun:
Joan, I got a bright case so can see it on the carousel when I pick it up. A few times, I've picked other people's cases up by mistake as they were plain black like mine. Hope it's not long before you can go swimming again.
Toady, I'm glad you now know what you are going to do and hope it all goes well for you. Just pop in as and when you feel you want to. Take care.
Called in to the travel agents and asked the lady to run me through my journey. She said they would check me in online for the outward journey but I couldn't understand if she was going to text me to say it had been done or not. Then she suggested I take Singapore dollars as there are lots of shops at the airport for me to spend my money. When I said I only wanted £100 of Oz dollars and I'd take my bank card to draw money out, she said no no, you need at least £500. Take it all in cash. She didn't seem very happy when I said I was worried about losing it and didn't want to take that much anyway. Don't think I'll be using them again. Too pushy.Christine0 -
morning all..suppose to be the last day of sun for a few days..
Christine..that is pushy..they don't explain things and take on themselves that you already know it all..around 20 something years ago we went to America..and was told to take dollars a credit card wasn't essential..the first thing they asked for in the hotel was our credit card  ..it was the first card we had..I think if I climb in your luggage they will charge you a fortuneI cant wait to hear all about it..
Who brought all this food in while I was in bed... :roll:think it must be down to Kath... blimey Emily must have been busy...think we should have a party...
And no wounder you are proud of Willow ..
bet she was thrilled to see her painting displayed..and what a lovely name...
Toady its good to see you..but I still feel guilty asking about you then you feel like you have to post... :oops:I hope they can get you back on a level with whatever meds they try next..it must be scary...but you will get there..and we don't mind a moan..honest..
Joan I hope you can get back to swimming when your ankle is fixed..Im sure you will..hope you and Sue have a lovely weekend..
Today I am meeting a friend for something to eat...I met her in hospital when I had my THR..and we hit it off has they say..cant wit to see her..
Has anyone seen Mig around..I hope things are a little better..hope everyone has a decent day...xxxxx

What a bargain Applerose I hope that made your day.
I was dragged out for a well overdue eye test yesterday and have purchased some glasses! I wore them as a child and hated them so went around blind for a few years before starting work and buying contact lenses. They cost me £100, an almighty sum at the time and I had to borrow the money off my Dad, bless him. Thank you Dad (and I paid him backSo I've not had glasses since I was 18!
Well done to Willow Kath. My Dan is 16 now and very young for his age. He likes to draw too and does lots of detailed pics of cars and buildings. Thanks for filling up the freezer too. Good luck for the 21st with the scan.
I'm glad Toady has a plan and really hope it makes her feel better. Pop in when you can as its lovely to hear from you. You can just give us a royal wave if you want.
Barbara looks beautiful in her pictures with a lovely young face.
I had a phone call to say Social services have agreed to give night respite for my boy. Not sure of the details yet as I had food boiling over and so it was a quick call. She was going to call back today but expect she is busy. I did thank her as even one occasional night means I can go out!
Cate Kath has stocked up for us.
Glad gas certificate is now sorted Joan .
Well as I'm getting up at 6.30 each morning I've had to go back for a 2 hour nap once the children have gone to school.
Love to Toni and Mig too. Absolutely hope I haven't mised anyone!
