Skype conversation last night with 8 year old grandson :
Him - Hello Gran.
Me - Hello superstar, how are you?
Him - Good, thanks.
Me - What have you been up to at school?
Him - I`ve been playing hockey, Gran - it`s well good, nearly as good as football & cricket
Me - Wow, with big sticks?
Him - Short blue plastic ones
Me - Gran used to love playing hockey at school.
Him - Did you? ( this after a long pause in which he clearly couldn`t grasp the concept of me in full flow on a hockey pitch. )
Me - Yes, but we used a very hard ball, and normal-sized wooden sticks.
Him - I `spect they didn`t have plastic in those days Gran.
So there you are - I`m ancient!

Pre-plastic, eh? I guess you can't get much older than that
I recall once taking my Dad to the opticians when he was about 90. The girl at the desk called out "Mr R. what year were you born in."
"1899, Dad replied, truthfully."
Every head turned to gaze at this antiqueIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

haha you are not ancient, Theresa! :-)
Did you know though, why time seems to fly faster the older we get?
This is due to a cognitive bias called the "percentage bias": as we get older a time unit (e.g. one year) get smaller as a percentage of our whole life.
Example: when we are 50 one year is 2% of our lifetime, but when we are 10 one year is 10%. That is why time seems to go so much slower for kids.. :-)
Have a lovely Friday!
