Hello everyone I started a post this morning - got interrupted and lost it

Kath thank you for the massage.....soooo relaxing ;)

Please tell Emily I love the menu - sounds like proper Hallowe'en/bonfire food :)

Barbara I am so sorry about the flooring! We had the same with our shower and had to have some bits replaced before it was re-floored. It will be worth it in the end.

Hi Joan - soon be your ortho appointment - nothing had better go wrong this time! I am resting my neck as the salon is closed this morning :)

Elizabeth - thank you for thinking of Charley :) Yep she was proper messed up when Lucy got ill bless her. She's ok now and read half of a massive textbook already!!

I am very pleased to hear you had a good visit from your daughter - best of luck with her MA.

It will be nice to see Christine's piccies won't it? :D

This message is nowhere near as good as the first one was

    Love to you all

Mig, I hope your Humira injection went OK, and that you have had some good rest. Good luck for your flu jab on Saturday.

Barbara, Emily has been busy making stews with dumplings, real meat ones and also Quorn ones with no dumplings. Can you get vegetarian dumplings? Lots of goodies heading our way on Thursday.

Joan, how are you and Sue? Not long for your appointment now, I hope they get your ankle sorted out for you.

Toni, my pleasure, any time. You work so hard both at home and here in the cafe, you deserve some R and R time.

Sending everyone gentle hugs. My advice for tomorrow, don't go out. r079.gif

    What a miserable day!!

I have to agree and yes it doesn't help the aches does it?

Today I had a wash and blow-dry at the salon and my neck survived so I am looking much better.

They had some lovely boxed products for Christmas so I got some ready as presents :)

I remember you having to give up swimming Joan it is a shame :(

Kath hit Te*co!! I hope you coped ok? I nipped into the one beginning with S today as they have crème brullés on offer and Lucy loves them ;)

I hope the floor was dry enough and you have your new floor Barbara? You can get the machine working again then :)

I think the neighbour has done the right thing - he would have probably bullied her more if she let him come back. I bet it's not easy for her though in her 70's making such a decision :(

Yes cate will be away soon and having a lovely time :)

Hope mig is ok and Elizabeth too.

Kath - you can get veggie suet so yes please to veggie dumplings :)

    YUM!

    Love

Toni how lovely having a wash and blow..its does lift the spirits a little..and I bet Lucy loves you being there..hope that neck behaves..and gives you a break..yes my flooring is down we dried it out ..thank goodness ..and it looks lovely down nice and bright and clean..our youngest son came and helped to put the washer back with hubby...
Kath sorry you got caught in the rain..I am hoping it stays away today... :skull:
I cant really tell what makes my joints worse apart from if its to hot ...then they really dont like it..think I might keep a diary again..to see what effects them..
Hope everyone's doing okish..not seen Elizabeth around..

    Oh lovely Barbara!

I hope you're chuffed with it?

Yes lovely to get a free wash and blow-dry. Lucy was extra careful with my neck and it's definitely no worse. High-lights with our normal hairdresser tomorrow for me :)

I hope everyone is ok today

We've had lovely sunshine, but very breezy.

Brought all the geraniums in ready for any frosts.

Feeling on edge today got parents evening at the salon tonight. I hope they don't say Lucy isn't up to it :? 6pm everyone please in my pocket.

Lots of lovely warming stew and dumplings, both real meat and vegetarian. Lots of cakey, as mentioned the other day. Also the spicy wedges Emily promised. More toffee apples, Lamb and Dauphinoise hot pot. Cheesy leek and bacon pasta, chicken and leek pot pies, Butternut Macaroni cheese. Bean and sausage hotpot, Treacle apple pudding, baked apple and toffee crumble, Marmalade & whisky bread & butter pudding, and Griddle scones with honey.

Joan, I can only catch the bus if my husband is with me. He doesn't trust me on my own and to be honest, neither do I. That's why hospital transport is so important to get me to and from my appointments.

At least the sun has been out today, but it is so cold here. I've put two pair of socks on to keep my toesies warm.

    Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't been around much, lots of stuff going on.......none of which makes for happy reading. I'm trying to get beyond it.....well, there's not much else I can do really.

We are off on Sunday, although I don't honestly feel like going. One grandgirlie is two today, and I will be seeing her and her big sister when we're away. My other little beauty is also two at the beginning of next month. I won't be seeing her sadly, although her daddy is coming home for a few days.

My GP has said that a shoulder re-placement is pretty much all that's left, but I really can't face that right now.

I have been thinking of you all my kind friends, and hope to come bouncing back.....well, you know what I mean.....very soon.

    Much love to you all.....Cate.x

Hi everyone. I'm home now. Had a great time but not sure which way up I am at the moment. Went to bed at 7pm and got up at 4am. I've caught up with Toni and Lucy. Might take longer to catch up in here. Haven't uploaded any photos yet. I'll put a couple on here but the rest will go on FB, if anyone is interested. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hello everyone, it's been thoroughly miserable here today, dark, damp and drizzly. I expect it's been pretty much the same where you are. :trick-or-treat:

Christine, it's lovely to have you back. Shame you don't have some nice weather to welcome you. :pumpkin:

Joan, I hope you and Sue have had a good weekend without too much pain.

Cate, I hope you get some comfort from seeing the family you can meet up with. I can't imagine your sorrow, but hope there might be some light at the end of the tunnel. So sorry to hear you might have to have a shoulder replacement. :?

Barbara, I'm well wrapped up, so keeping warm thank you. :D

I've a renewed interest in reading my ebooks, have lots on my iPad book reader and on my laptop too. My problem is that reading makes my eyes ache and I usually fall asleep after about 10 minutes. Emily says hello and hopes you are enjoying the food.

Morning. Don't think I'm going to be able to read everything so I'm going to just jump in here. I'm thinking of starting another thread to put a few photos on so I don't clog things up in here.Like the new Halloween smilies. :zombie2:

Kath, yes miserable here too. Guess I'm lucky as I had an extended summer, 30 plus degrees some days. A bit too hot for me though. I started reading again about a year ago but have the same problem as you. My eyes get very tired and sore so I can't read for too long. I'm starting to think about audible books. At the moment I borrow from my local library. All those meals of Emily's are making me hungry. They all sound yummy.

Joan, it's awful getting wet while you're out. Hope you didn't get cold too. Yes, it was different in Australia. With 2 young children and my daughter looking for a job and a house, it was non-stop. Plus the heat.

Barbara, I used to hate the thought of any seafood apart from prawns. One evening, while out for a meal, I ordered a seafood cocktail by mistake and really enjoyed it. You mentioned the C word. They have all the Christmas things in the shop in Melbourne but we couldn't think of Christmas in 30 degree heat. I got home ans suddenly realised, I'd better start thinking of it now. :pumpkin:

Cate, sorry to hear things still haven't sorted themselves out for you. I can't imagine it. I hope you do enjoy your trip away and seeing your little ones and your sons. A shoulder replacement? Yes, you can do without that at the moment. (((hugs)))

Mig, hope your flu jabs went ok and you enjoyed your shopping trip. How awful them making your daughter's arm bleed. Don't blame her not going back.

Toni, how did the parents' evening go? Well I hope as Lucy is enjoying it so much. Hope your neck has eased a bit.

Hope things are ok with Elizabeth. I've gone back a bit and can't see any posts.

    Morning All!

Kath please say hello back to Emily :) I think reading is good for is partly because it gets us off to sleep ;)

Rained all day here too, hoping today is dryer.

Nice to wake up and it be lighter at least.

Barbara - was it the war then? Didn't they try not doing the clocks in the 70's and all the kids had to wear arm-bands it was too dark to walk to school??? I suppose that's not relevant now....they all go in cars!

Joan - have you got a good raincover for your scooter? Do you know I always think of you walking the dogs and getting wet when it's like this!

    Christine!
    Welcome home :)k010.gif
I will nip over to facebok at some time and look at your photos - thank you :)

    Now Cate
I am sure you will end up having a wonderful break with your friend in the end.
I am sad you will not be seeing both Grandgirlies on/near their birthdays. I have decided that your DIL is jealous of you now. I am glad that your son is brave enough to stand up to her and visit you at least.
    Sending ((())) and love

Mig I hope the flu-jab went ok? The linguine sounded delectable :)

Thinking of Elizabeth and hoping she is ok this half-term.

Love to all of you and anyone I missed

    Toni xxx

Ps Christine - parents' evening went very well thank you. They are really pleased with Lucy's progress this last 6/7 weeks :)
