    Hi all.
Haven't been on for a couple of days. Been too tired from poor nights sleep. Feel much better now.
Won a box of chocs and a large chocolate Santa Claus on a raffle. I'll share just so I don't stuff my face and scoff the lot.
TKACHEV I always watch Supervet too. He is actually only about 10/15 minutes away from where my sister lives.
BARBARA . . started cards!!! I don't do that any more. I do cards for close relatives . . Mum, sister, husband, daughter and grandchildren (3) and then I make a donation to a charity.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and for those that didn't I'm sending hugs. :)

Mig, how awful for your cousin. Hopefully she will recover quickly. Hope you have a good evening.

Joan, I'm having a good day as my youngest granddaughter is here while mummy goes to work. Hope your weather is improving. It looks better outside here today.

Kath, glad you've got your emails and bank sorted out now. And you had a good appointment. Hopefully the meds will get sorted out too.

Bridlass, I'm the same. Sometimes get too tired to post. Glad you feel better. Well done on winning the chocolates. Oooh, might have to go and visit your sister. I've got a bit of a crush on Noel.

Barbara, it is a shame you won't see your eldest GD for Xmas but as you say, they move on and would rather be with friends than us.

Brought my Xmas tree downstairs last night to put up but the base is missing. No idea where it is so just put a few Xmas teddies around for now. Well, I'd better get back to jigsaws and drawing. Youngest GD doesn't seem to bothered with fixing toys today. Seems they are all fine.

    Hi All

BARBARA You can have the Santa head but his hat has already gone!
APPLEROSE You will have to be quick going down to see my sister . . .she's moving back up to Bridlington in January. I also have "a thing" for Noel!!!!! I haven't got my decorations up yet. I don't put a tree up anymore. The cat thinks it's for climbing and just for him. I put lights all round the room it looks lovely.

Grrrrrr :x Just had a go with my GP (the one from our practice that I don't really like). I asked our pharmacy if I could go on the Nomad scheme and they said to check with GP. Which I did and she's going on about have a check list, get your husband (he's 80 and had 3 TIA's and diabetic) to do your medication and this that and the other. All I want is to reduce the stress and she gives me more. I've got a headache now!! Rant over!

    Hi All

BARBARA the Nomad scheme is where all your medications come in a sorted tray so that you don't have to go through the cupboard taking one from that pack and from another. It is all done by the pharmacy and you get the tray so you just push out the tabs for that day and time. I am on Tegreatol, Lamotrigine (50 and 100mg), Omoprazole, Isosorbide Mononitrate, Atorvastatin, Ramipril, Istin, Solifenacin, Mirtazipine and aspirin. Plus my inhalers and Nitrolingual spray, plus painkillers and Ibprofen gel. So all the tablets that I take in the morning would be in one day in push out cell and the tablets I take at night would be under the same day but in another push out cell. Hope you can understand that. :?

No decorations up yet. Bit early. OH says he's going to find his BAH-HUMBUG hat. He likes it really. I've been ordering pressies too. Received one today . . . four really nice mugs and one was smashed  Hoping they are going to replace or there will be trouble. s055.gif

Ooooh!! Frittata for me and bread and butter pudding with extra thick double cream (I will save some for Elizabeth  ), thanks to Emily from me Kath

Joan - I know what you mean I do hope that's the last of any roadworks for a while :? The roads they've dug up are really bumpy now

Bridlass! What a great idea having the meds sorted ready :) Lucy tke lamotrigine too 200mg bd, keppra 1000 mg bd (a gram apparently ;)) and clobazam 30mg every other night for her epilepsy. The Lamotrigine is what stopped her seizures I think. On top of that are her cancer meds so I am busy sorting them out every day myself. She had a go one day and gace herself the clobazam at 8am and nearly fell asleep in Brum shopping!!

I've ordered mugs too for some people for Christmas I hope they arrive in one piece :?

I hope Barbara is ok as well as Toady, Slomo, cate, Elizabeth and Coco - really hope I haven't missed anyone

    Hi All.

Had a VERY weird day yesterday and not in a good way. My OH had to go to the docs for a dopplar scan on his calves as he has diabetes and they wanted to check the blood flow. His BP was high and they couldn't find a good pulse. So checked with GP and they said it was OK and a new appt after next week. My daughter had been to see a rheumatologist and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and SPONDYLOARTHROAPTHY ENTHESITIS !!(What is this?)
Went home (me aching all over and checked my BP 164/112).
OH went down into town and came home, after about five minutes he was having great difficulty in saying what he wanted to say. The words were in his head but he couldn't say them. So it was 999 and off to hospital. Another TIA, his fourth this year. Anyway it resolved and we finally got home about 8pm.
    A quiet day today!!!!!!

Hi everyone, just a quick hello this afternoon, time's a passing and it'll soon be evening.
I've had a fairly quiet week this week with no medical appointments for a change. Next week it's rheumy on Monday and OccH on Tuesday. GP phoned me on Thursday to say that my white blood cell count is raised although not dramatically so. I'm feeling fine so that's a bit odd. Will tell rheumy. Good news is hubby's work have given him the day off so we'll be able to go by car rather than me having to spend approx 4 hours on a bus.
Bridlass - really sorry to hear about your husband. That must have been scary for you both.
Confess I've slightly lost the plot with who's doing what so I'll just say hope you're all doing OK and keeping warm and getting on top of your Christmas arrangements.
Wind getting up here and looks like it could be a wild night

Last night as we were watching tv we heard a thump which seemed to come from the dinning room we had a look round couldn't see anything so went back to the tv ,this morning when I opened the blind there was an imprint of a bird its wings spread and you could see its head and beak fearing the worst we went outside to check nothing not a feather or blood anywhere so we are assuming (hopefully )it was just stunned.
Stay safe and dry everyone. Mig

Poor bird, we've had that happen now and then. g055.gif

Hardly slept last night, no, not the windy weather, both my hips and lower back were agony. I could only get one leg into bed as when I tried to put the other in, my hip and back went into a spasm. I hope my neighbour couldn't hear me cry out as she would wonder what we were up to. d040.gif

Sorry to hear some of you have had damage due to this wind.

Lots of houses decorated up for Christmas around where I live.

    a245.gif

I'm hoping Emily will get down to some more baking for this coming week. As Campbell is into his third cold in the last couple of months, she hasn't been able to go to any vintage events, so I will tell her how popular the bread and butter pudding is and suggest some new dishes for her to supply us with.

    Happy eating.

Mig - I reckon your poor birdy is ok. They do do that sometimes don't they?

Barbara your husband has hurt his back and knee? What is he like - at 69 he really ought to accept help  Did you enjoy your visit?

Bridlass - you poor thing how scary! I do hope they will be taking some preventative action with your husband now?

I am glad your daughter has a diagnosis - even if she doesn't know what it means. I can't tell you either really, but I thought spond bit was to do with the spine???? Might be worth asking helplines??

    Hello all,

Hope everyone is safe and have no problems with flooding. We've had some rain, but not too much, but the wind is keeping OH awake every night. He sleeps on the window side so hears it more than I do.

Barbara, I have some OTC pain killers until I get some from the doc. They are helping, but if I move into a different position, my back goes into spasms, which is worse than the hip pain. I shall try sleeping on my duvet tonight, I'm always wrapped up in PJs and bed socks, so I should keep warm. I have a memory foam mattress, but it's gone a bit soft. Good job nobody was on the kerb when the car hit it. Oh, and there will be lots of mince pies. I'm supposed to keep this secret, so don't let on that I've told you, but there will also be two Christmas Cakes. One with fruit and marzipan and one with no fruit or marzipan for those who don't want either. There will be some icing on both though. And a yule log. :D (whisper - I think she will be delivering them this coming week. )

Toni, naughty naughty, overdoing it with no patches. I think you should have a turn in the hot tub. :?

Joan, thank you for thinking of me. I hope you and Sue are not being kept awake by the wind.

I hope Elizabeth, Slomo, Cate, Bridlass, mig, Christine and anyone else I've forgotten are all OK.

Kath, I haven't slept much for 2 nights with the wind howling. I'm really glad I live on top of a hill. Down in the town, the river has burst it's banks and was making it's way up towards the High Street. All the gardens next to the river were flooded and video of it showed the river flowing really quickly. The quay where the boats dock was well under water. Having your back going in to spasm when you move sounds horrendous. Whispers - looking forward to the mince pies and cake.

Barbara, I'm here. Don't know why I haven't called in. Must be a mixture of bad eyes and time going so quickly. The accident sounds bad. Were they going too fast so didn't see the kerb? Hope no-one was hurt. Your poor hubby. He does work very hard. You're right. He should get a bit of help with the heavy stuff. Hope his back eases quickly.

Toni, another one with a bad back. Have you put your patches back on again? Hope it eases soon. Hope you and Lucy and the rest of the family are well (other than your back).

Joan, hope there hasn't been any damage from flooding or high winds where you are.

Mig, poor bird. I hear it happens a lot because they can't see the glass. It was probably a bit stunned at first but then went on it's way.

Slomo, 4 hours on the bus? I thought I was bad enough with an hour and a half. I'm glad your OH can take you. I often lose what's happening with everyone so just jump in where I land when that happens.

Bridlass, my goodness. You and your family have been in the wars. Hope you are all ok-ish now. I have no idea what the spondy...... is. Maybe contact your GP and ask for an explanation. Hope you did have a quiet day today.

Can't believe it's been a few days since I've been in the cafe. Time is flying so quickly. My cough is finally almost gone but my eyes are still bothering me. I got some drops from the pharmacist but she suggested I go back to the optician. I thought I might have an infection but there isn't anything to see so she said it wasn't that.

My niece had a baby girl on Friday. She didn't breath for a minute so it was pretty scary for my niece and her mum and dad, who were with her. But all is well now.

I went to put my Xmas tree up on Tuesday and the bottom section snapped and all the branches fell off. Finally managed to get one delivered from Arg*s. 7 foot and reduced from £40 to £20. It's quite good. I was impressed with them. Ordered it at 10.15 am and it was delivered at 3pm. t's up now and decorated.
