Oh I forgot to say Elfie was at Lucy's Auntie's house the other day! Being naughty too!! He had pinched Lucy's little cousin's underwear and was wearing it!!!
Hi KathSo difficult to treat nerve pain isn't it? I tried gabapentin and some have had success on it or pregablin. I loved it because I was easily tolerated for me (the only one which ever has been!!) but it did nuffin'
I have had several mince pies thank you
Lovely!
Don't think I've gained any weight though this jumper has shrunk a little in the wash..... :?

Hello all, today has been really miserable, although we did see the sun for a short while. We went shopping this morning, as tomorrow is supposed to be really wet. But we have a better reason than that for staying home. Eldest son and his family are coming over to see us. That's Richard, wife Nicola, and beautiful daughter Willow. Oakley might come too. I think they might have bought me a new top for Christmas as I got a phone call last week asking me what size top I wear. :presents:
I think I might have a UTI to add to my woes. I can't stop going! Usually I only get a dribble when I have a UTI, but I'm like Niagara Falls every time. If I was a man, I'd think I'd got a prostate problem. Strange thing is, it's only during the day. Night time is pretty normal. :? I think I'll take a sample when I go to the doctor.
:carolers: :santa2: :areindeer:

Hi everyone, well I've made it to the end of the week and I am truly kn****ered, or should I be polite and say that one is exhausted after one's busy week. No, I was right the first time.
Is there anything tasty left to treat myself to.,.. smoked salmon, mince pies, come out come out wherever you are!
I will make a determined effort to put a couple of more sensible posts on re this week's fun appointments. It has actually not been too bad re results and I've even done some Christmas shopping!
Going to get a cuppa now and close the blinds as its already black and cold looking outside. (no doubt because it IS cold outside, 2degrees and feeling colder)
Hope everyone is OK and jogging/juddering happily along to the weekend.

Hello everyone!!
Slomo! You have had a productive week then? I'm so glad to hear it. It is dark way too early at the moment I agree. It's warmed out there and now we have torrential rain!!
Kath Very wise of you to take a 'sample' when you see the doctor. Very odd otherwise. At least you aren't being woken by it.
I hope you have a lovely visit today
Ooooh Barbara I think they're the same smilies as last year aren't they? I still nip off and fetch my own if I have time
I hope you had a lovely time with your niece
Thank you I am recovered from the do
Joan Thank you, you take care too yourself. Poor dogs won't like this rain :xmas_rolleyes:
I haven't heard of Elfie doing anything else naughty so far :xmas_confused:
Right sleeves up - time to clean this place.....mince-pie crumbs everywhere....
and some of it is quite sticky too
Dishwasher is full, but still loads of crocks to wash up so....

The tracker is up brilliant. I must thank Rondetto.
I had a much needed lie-in this morning, the usual 6.30 mornings are killing me. Dan has gone upstairs early so I grabbed the laptop to message a few friends and catch up.
Kath I hope you are not in pain. I hate UTI's but as Toni said at least its not keeping you awake. All my OA has been diagnosed by x-ray. They said my hip was OA last time but I've only ever been told it is RA before so I queried her and she said RA causes the damage which results in wear-and-tear. not sure I've understood her correctly!
Joan I think an injection would be easier to recover from, as long as it works.
I'm hobbling everywhere due to hip pain, I absolutely must get it replaced. OH has injured his arm, although we managed to buy a tall tree but it is still bagged up and lying on the rug! Dan is so excited this year, he's even made a list!
Sorry to read Appleroses eyes are bad. I hope you can get into the cafe at some point.
Naughtey Elfie Toni but it did make me laugh. I'm so glad Lucy had a fab birthday.
Poor Slomo you did have a busy week and yes it would be nice to be left to be ill in peace!
Barbara hope you enjoyed your time with your Niece.I wonder if the Mods have seen your plea?
Take care all, love to those missing, Cate, Toady, Coco et al.

Hello Elizabeth!!
It's good to see you managed to grab a moment to post
I hope the tree can go up soon
It always makes me feel Christmassy
Lovely to hear Dan is getting in the spirit this year
Timing for your hip replacement will be difficult I imagine? Though it really sounds as though it needs doing sooner rather than later.
Thanks Lucy did have a lovely birthday bless her - just think this time next year it should all just be a bad memory.
You look after yourself too :areindeer:
Hello everyone else. The rain seems to have eased off here thank goodness although is suspect it may be rather chilly.

Toni xxx0 -
Hello you lovely lot.
I enjoyed my visitors yesterday, and the presents. I got told off last year for opening them before Christmas, so I left them this year good granny. :candycane: Willow is a delight, she has asked her dad to set up a blog for her art work. When It's ready I will give you the address so you can go and see it.
Elizabeth, that is what my rheumy said about RA and OA. But the new pain on my left side seems more in my lower back and buttocks than my actual hip. But I read an article about 4 little known joints affected by RA. One is the sacroiliac joint. http://www.healthcentral.com/rheumatoid-arthritis/c/80106/178004/4-rheumatoid?ap=2017
The bit about the sacroiliac joint is the last one. It struck a chord with me just finishing MTX, so I did wonder.
:carolers:
Toni, sorry about the mincemeat being so sticky. :xmas_redface:
Sending everyone positive thoughts and hope you manage to get all your Christmas plans work out. :presents: :areindeer: :candycane:"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon all still pouring down...
Elizabeth glad to see you had some time to yourself..I hope the mods can add more smilies...
Kath I have had injections in my sacro joint..it was showing inflammation, but now I have my new hip they cant do them because of risk of infection..if you limp you can also throw the joint out..and that causes pain..glad you had a good day..now leave that present alone :presents:
Toni..hope all is well with everyone..think I will try some of your mulled wine  glad the rain has stopped for you...
love to everyone xxxxxxLove

Slomo, sorry to hear you have been so tired after your busy week. Hope you got some rest.
Joan, I hope you enjoy your swimming tomorrow. I'm sure I would but I'm really scared of the water.
Elizabeth, I'm glad you managed a lie in and a catch up. You deserve it. I understood that RA causes damage to the joints and therefore OA. Are you going to ask about a hip replacement? It would be such a big decision for me to make but it would make such a big difference.
Toni, it will be wonderful knowing that the last couple of years is all in the past, won't it? It looked as if Lucy and the girls had a wonderful time for Lucy's birthday. She looks so pretty in the pictures. I do like mulled wine in the winter. That Elfie does get about, doesn't he? Still up to his naughty tricks I see. He's been very good at my friend's house but I did spot him sitting in amongst some very expensive sunglasses in a jeweller's shop in town yesterday.
Kath, I am very good at keeping my presents. I usually open the ones off my son at his house on Xmas morning but the rest get left till evening when I settle down with a glass of something and a mince pie. Is your present soft or did you shake it? :presents: My GP sent me to the physio when I thought I was having problems with my sacroiliac joint. He said it was actually a slightly protruding disc in my lower spine and gave me exercises to do. it did help a great deal. He also told me not to lift anything heavy, to go down on one knee to pick things up and to never sit or stand more than half an hour. Easier said than done in everyday life. And I get problems swallowing now and again. My rheumie sent me for x-rays and told me the cartilage in my throat had turned to bone. He wouldn't answer my questions, saying he'd invite me back to discuss it when he'd blown the x-rays up to see it clearer. never mentioned it again and even my GP can't get any answers about it. :xmas_cry:
Thanks to all of you who wished my eyes well. They are slightly better but I'm going to go back to the opticians after Xmas to see what they think. I wipe them with damp cotton pads and have some more drops from the pharmacist. I've only got one more present to buy and I'm done. Went round this afternoon to see my niece's new baby. She's a week old now. Cute as a button, as they all are. I was going to get lots done today but, as usual, I've just pottered. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. :carolers:Christine0 -
Morning all
Christine Im glad to hear you have made an appointment to see your optician, you cant be to careful with your eyes..something my late mum used to say

Hello Joan, Barbara Kath and Christine
Just lost my post :santa:
Typical me!
anyway I have read all your news honestly and my reply was a good one
Just a little worried about Elfie being loose in a place with items of value...... :santa:
scary!!
Love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
Barbara, the picture sounds good. I think I have seen some which light up somewhere. Lovely. Does your OH get separate pressies for his birthday and Xmas or all in one? Glad his books arrived. It is a worry when ordering things. One parcel I ordered for Australia turned up when my daughter was out so they are redelivering. Something she ordered has been cancelled. :santa: Yes, I did get to cuddle the baby. Aaaaw.
Joan, I hope you and Sue are ready for Xmas.
Toni, sometimes it is just too much to rewrite the whole post.
I was going to keep the Xmas decorations to a minimum this year but I keep bringing down another couple of bits to put up. Just bought some Xmas stickers so my youngest GD can make Xmas cards on Wednesday.Christine0 -
Hello Toni Christine and anyone else I missed.
Toni i'm sorry your post got lost. I hope you have a good week.
Christine there is only the two of us so we have and do what we want. I hope you have a lovely time with your big family.

Hello all, one week to go for my GP appointment. I bet I forget to ask half the questions I have. I'm always aware of time restrictions my doctor has, and don't want to make her late for the next patient who might need more attention than I do.
Joan, how lovely to be free to do your own thing. I hope Sue's wrist is fully better now she has the plaster off, and i hope your ankle isn't giving you too much pain.
Christine, we don't bother with decorations as we spend Christmas day elsewhere. My DIL and her mum do us proud for Christmas every year. We appreciate their efforts very much. :areindeer:
Toni, knowing you, your missing post will have been full of consideration and love for others. I bet it was Elfie who mislaid it. :santa:
Barbara, love your smilies. I hope your OH's books don't get mislaid. It must be difficult keeping them out of sight until Christmas Eve. :presents:
Such miserable weather, it's difficult to get in the Christmas mood while it's so dull and damp. Even Santa's looking a bit grumpy. :santa2: Let's have a sing song to cheer us all up.

Oh Baby Barbara!!
She sounds just like Lucy!! When she was about 2ish we had some sparklers and her Grandad was holding her hand - I told her they were REALLY hot, but too inquisitive for their own good maybe :santa:
Did you see the space station??
Kath I agree with aBrbara - write a list (start it now) and put it in priority order in-case you are rushed.
Thank you so much you are so kind :xmas_redface: I do care about people.
Aha!
Elfie!!I think the cheeky thing is dancing around it with his mates!!
I love the Christmas carol!!! hehehe! or maybe hohohohoho!
Hi Joan We are all fine thanks. Lucy is well her hair is shoulder-length when it's wet now
I hope all is well with you and the doggies and Sue's wrist is getting stronger.
Hi Christine Lock those stickers away!!! I have it on good authority that Elfie LOVES stickers and heaven knows where he'll stick them :xmas_confused:

Barbara, Joan and Toni, yes, I really must write a list for my GP. I'm having a blood test before the appointment, so I must ask for more blood forms. Phlebotomist doesn't give them out. Then there's the sample for the UTI. Think I'll print them out then just hand the list to her.
Emily has provided the following party food for the Cafe Christmas party.
:candycane:
Savouries
Baked Camembert with garlic bread
puff pastry pizza bites
sticky cranberry sausages
Tandoori chicken party skewers
mini sausage rolls
Parmesan shortbreads
cheese straws
Mini smoked salmon and dill cakes
Stilton and toasted walnut balls
Sweets
Christmas pudding
chocolate pumpkin pie
Tangerine, chocolate and vanilla salad
Christmas ice cream sundae
Clementine jelly
Retro Arctic roll with strawberries
chocolate truffles
bread and butter pudding
winter pudding bombe
mulled wine sorbet
We went to Te**o this morning. One of our local primary schools were giving a carol concert while we were there. Many of them formed a choir, while others played solos on the clarinet and oboe.
