Hello all my lovely friends. If I sound a bit tipsy, it's the morphine. I take 2 at bedtime, then sleep for four hours. A trip to the loo (carefully and slowly) then I get another couple of hours without any tablets. One more tablet around 3-4 am. Sleep until 6-ish, 2 paracetamol, then stagger to the loo again, then up at around 7 am. Completely the opposite to my regime before. :frown:
I try to just take my morphine when it's absolutely necessary. Had one about half an hour ago, and I can hardly keep my eyes open.
Hope all those having to return to work are coping.
Elizabeth, I hope you are getting on top of Lucy's nits. I remember my kids getting them. When I was little, Friday night was the big nit hunt night. Disinfectant and a tooth comb was the order of the day. :xmas_twisted:
Toni, I hope Lucy's chemo goes well.

I bet it feels lonely taking the dogs without Sue Joan ((())) to both of you from us. Welcome home Sue
Tia loves being back and with all the animals it's just me who misses her!!
2 Years ago today Lucy was diagnosed with ALL and transferred to the QE from Stafford. :xmas_confused:
Kath I really sympathise with you. Your new regime sounds tough ((())). Chemo went fine thanks and Lucy also saw the physio.
Yes healthy options please Emily!!! Barbara is right! Hearty ones too if possibleI hope your GD gets well soon - probably overdid it in London
Hi Mig - yes you must get a new freezer. We usually get our electricals from currys. They usually text or phone when they are nearby
Christine - Tia is fine - it's just me  The washer is ok if I stick to programs I use 'less often' :?
I bet your Dad doesn't understand that Christmas is nothing like it used to be bless him ((()))
Well best get on

Will nip down to Cornwall to fetch some of Skezier's finest clotted
Joan - I hope Sue is on the mend still and gets home soon. I agree with Barbara and hope they sort her out for you so you can manage at home. Thank you I am sure the next two years will be better - they have to be!!
I fell over the hoover!! Blimey have I scraped my shin!! and my new washer (6 months old) has stopped working!!
What a day!
Love to you all especially those missing xxx0 -
Mig, hope you are happy with your new fridge freezer.
Joan, did Sue get home ok? Hope you can get some extra help for you both.
Barbara, stews sound good to me. I've still got mince pies, cake and quite a bit of cheese to get through. I'm not throwing them out. Hope your GD isn't too bothered with having no voice.
Kath, it doesn't sound as if you're getting much sleep with the pill taking and loo trips. Those meals sound delicious.
Toni, glad the others didn't get your cold. Two years on and it seems everything is going well, although not perfect just yet.
What a busy day I've had. Youngest GD was here and we didn't stop - painting, drawing, playing Miss Polly had a dolly over and over and the Red Riding Hood. Guess who was the wolf? :areindeer:Christine0 -
Morning all..wont mention the weather...
Toni I hope you and Lucy are now fully recovered from the horrible cough... ooh that is all you need falling over the hoover..I think these obstacles find us...ouch the shin can be painful..and then your washer...I remember you getting it..hopefully it will be replaced soon..think you need some of these ..(())
Christine you do have some fun with your GC ..they do take it out of you..I used to say tired but happy...is today work I am lost with your hours so I bet you are..I took 4 selections boxes a box of chocs..and 2 orange eggs..to the collection point for the flood victims..plus some other stuff..I hope someone enjoys them..
GD was coughing all night.....bless I hope it goes on its way soon..and we have fleas...so will have to spray when its safe..suppose its because its so mild the flea eggs have survived..wouldn't care but they are not our cats...
Love to everyone..xxxxxLove

Fridge freezer is great all nice and new and sparkling.I was a little annoyed when the deliverymen were taking the old one out as they tipped it right over and the fluid spilt out all over the kitchen floor and they didn't give me time to clear it up before they put the new one in place.
Hubby has gone to see his sister he goes every other day in the mornings, his younger brother goes 5 days a week he has taken control of their sisters affairs as my oh was getting so stressed by it all and they were worried about him in case the stress caused him to have another stroke,so we sat down with his sister all of us and talked it through and she admitted she was worried about him so it was an ideal plan to suit all.
Got a stew on going to do puff pastry instead of dumpling, just roll out pastry and cut into squares and bake, yummy. Mig0 -
Hello Barbara Toni Christine Mig and anyone else I missed.
Barbara I hope you have a good day today.
sue came home on Monday she's sent her scoota back she said she feels more relaxed.
Toni sue has been having the carers at home for a year now they come twice a day. I hope everything is going well for you all.
Christine yes sue came home on Monday. you have been busy
you must miss your granddaughter when she goes home.
Mig you look after yourself i'm glad you like your freezer.
take care all

Let's have a look in mig's fridge-freezer shall we?
annoying about the spillage though....sensible to take some stress of your husband like that - safety first
Joan
I am pleased that Sue is home - I hope that means the carers get her up in the morning and to bed at night? All is well here thanks yes just waiting for shoulder MRI now and to see orthopod.
Barbara I don't know what was the matter with me  you should see the bruise! It's over the entire shin!! What with my back and hip and shin I didn't get much sleep!!!
You don't have cats that's why you have fleas. No cats for them to chomp on
Christine yes two years on and nearly done. Shame about her bones now we'll see what can be done for her. Looked at old threads on here and not many with AVN. Definitely no recent ones.
I agree with Joan You must miss your little GD although it must be nice to put your feet up a bit. Have you done any more of your puzzle?
Hope everyone is ok especially the absent ones
Love

Barbara, GC certainly do take it out of you but, as you say, it is fun though. I work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I used to work Wednesday till my hours were cut. Someone will definitely enjoy the chocolates and they'll be very grateful for the other things you donated. It's awful coughing during the night. Hope your GD is better tonight. I had a few bites when I looked after my daughter's dog. Hope they spray does the trick.
Mig, how annoying having a spill like that. They should have cleaned it up for you. When I got my new washer put in, they gave me time for a quick wipe but not to clean properly where the old one had been. That must be a relief for your OH now that his brother has taken over. My mum used to make puff pastry when she did stews. Yum yum.
Joan, I'm glad Sue is feeling more relaxed now. Yes, I do miss my GD when she goes so look forward to next time.
Toni, your bruise sounds very painful. No wonder you didn't get much sleep. Hope it's not so bad tonight. It is a shame about Lucy's bones. I'm sure they'll be able to do something about it. I was rather worn out yesterday by the time my GD had gone. She even said she wanted to stay a while longer. My puzzle is coming along slowly but surely. My physio has said I should lie face down on the floor for a while each day and read a book (I have a disc in my back which keeps trying to pop out) so I've been doing my puzzle then. Only problem is, everything else is painful lying down like that. And of course, I need to get back up again.
Well what do you know. My boss's wife came to see me today and said that the ironing is getting out of hand so could I spend most of my time for a couple of days catching up with it.Christine0 -

Evening all...a nice cold sunny day here..
Toni its not like you to moan so you must feel bad..I think the last 2 years are now taking there toll..so you need some me time if possible..a spa or whatever..hope you feel better very soon..dont forget we have the hot tub...
Joan sorry I didn't know Sue was already home glad the help is there...I hope that Sue will make a good recovery..
Christine...I have it Wednesday off..at least you can get some rest in the middle of the week ...glad your puzzle is coming along..I haven't started one yet with baby around..
fancy your bosses mum saying the ironing is out of hand..she wants to see mine..
Touch wood I haven't got the cough yet..but GD still poorly...got some jeans in the sale today so I am happy..

Morning all its pouring down...
Joan you did tell me about Sue, its my brain dont you worry about it..sorry she wont be able to get out on her scooter...I hope she is not in too much pain....and that you can get that ankle sorted...
I have just received 2 appointments..its like buses.. one for my sinuses on the 20th Jan and the other to see the ortho about this hip on the 22 nd..honestly ..you couldn't make it up...never mind we all get there in our own way..
I hope that Toni's shin is not to painful..grazes are more painful than cuts...something to do with the nerves..now I'm rambling... :?
Hope that Kath is doing ok..and all that are missing..
I had better get the cafe ready...fire stoked up, grill warming and the kettle is on...

My doc rang yesterday. She's arranging for DN to come next week to do my blood test. She is adding another test in for calcium levels before she prescribes Alandronic Acid. She is also changing my morphine to Zomorph, a slow relief tablet to take twice a day, plus a liquid 5mg dose to take as and when I need it and keep a record of how often I need it. Then she will come to see me herself. GOLLY GOSH!
Hope those recovering from various problems are feeling much better. Joan, how lovely for you to have Sue home. I don't blame her for wanting rid of the scoota, especially if it's happened before.
Also hope everyone is keeping nice and snug."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Joan, I spent most of yesterday ironing but I don't mind that. Hope Sue is doing alright now she's home.
Barbara, Wednesday is a good day for me. Not only no work but it's when I look after my GD. I was a bit worried about doing the igsaw with the little one about but I put it on the dining table in the other room and she doesn't go in there. It's good finding a bargain. Hope your GD's cough starts clearing up soon. I don't like too many appointments all at once. Hope you can get to yours ok.
Kath, that's good if the DN is coming to you. Saves you trying to get there. Hope the tests go ok and they get your meds sorted out.
I've quite enjoyed today just pottering about. Managed to get half of the Xmas decorations in the loft. I always take my mobile phone with me in case I can't get back down. I really must clear some space so I don't need to use the loft. Might not be long before I can't get up there. I did some jigsaw and watched a couple of films. And I've got another day to do it all again.
Hope everyone is have at least a reasonable weekend and not too much pain. And not too much rain either. Our town centre is on flood alert again tonight but should only be the fields that flood. I really hope no more houses around the country get flooded.Christine0 -
Morning all
Sorry to have been AWOL, but had to shoot off to Coventry as MIL was admitted to hospital with abdominal pain the night before.
She seems ok - pain under control now. They suspect gallstones, but won't know until after scan, which I reckon won't be till next week
Christine!
This sentence: "I did some jigsaw and watched a couple of films. And I've got another day to do it all again."
Really made me smileSee that's what's called counting our blessings and appreciating the small things
GD is a good girl not touching your puzzle. I agree about the loft - stressful going up there. I send one of the kids up - hah!! Not Lucy of course.
Kath - well I read that super-fast and reckon it sounds like a planYou do have a good doctor and I hope will have a lovely team of DNurses too
Keep warm yourself - I think this week will be chillier brrrr!!!
Barbara!
Thank you for lighting the fire...So cosy!
though I think I saw someone in the embers....????
Two appointments eh? We nearly had that for Lucy intrathecal on Monday then clinic Tuesday - both with Dr Tim. I think the strike sorted Tuesday though
Best of luck with yours and not before time too!
My shin is ok - I can finally sleep 'nearly' on it :)The bruise is the size of my kindle though and the graze bit is healingThank you xx
Hi Joan I hope Sue is still progressing and am sorry about the scoota, but understand why. Shame as she liked being able to get out with you with the dogs didn't she?
Sun has just peeped out, lovely, but does mean it's going to be colder.
Love to you all
Toni xxx

Toni I hope your SIL will be ok..its a shock for everyone when rushed into hospital....I hope that shin heals soon..suppose you cant use arnica with a graze..hope the appointments go well for Lucy and the results are good maybe the physio will work...
Christine I wish I had a room I could close off ..we did till we knocked through.. my late mum did warm me you will miss that room..
You must really enjoy Wednesday..my Christmas tree is down at long last ..the bag came that I ordered to put it in..our loft is a mess...we have toys and school work from when the boys were little and GCs stuff..glad you had a good potter ..
