Toni, what a long time for your MIL to wait for a scan if she is in so much pain. Hope she doesn't have to wait long. Well Toni, guess what I did today. Some jigsaw, watched a few films and that's it.
Glad your shin isn't so bad now.
Barbara, no sun here today. Only grey and some drizzle. I can hardly get in to my loft with all the clutter I've collected, including things that belong to my kids. I hope your GD feels better by tomorrow. It's not nice at all going to work when you don't feel well. And as you say, they might not let her work.
Nothing really to report today as I haven't done anything.Hope everyone is as well as possible and any pain has eased off.

Our loft is terrible too full of the kids stuff!!
I am going to get an estate agent round soon to value our house ready for downsizing so they'd better get clearing it out!!!
Joan - at least Sue has her electric chair better than nothing at least she has some independence. I was worried she'd be trapped in you see.
Barbara - the cough is BAD!! I hope you get over it sooner rather than later. You poor thing. I am very glad you can rest it will go quicker. Imagine us selling the house - NO room will be shut-able and Tia's and our wardrobes are fitted s need to be tidy
Christine I thought you might do some more puzzleand why not!! It's fun isn't it? and restful too. My Dad, who's birthday was 11th, used to steal a piece and hide it until my Mum had finished. then he's come along and say oh look I just finished a 3,000 piece puzzle
I hope all our missing friends are ok :?

Joan, I had a quiet weekend doing not much but I did enjoy it. Hope the floods aren't affecting you. Can Sue still get out on her electric chair? It's a shame they don't go further.
Barbara, it's the same with my kids. They go in the loft now and again but come out with nothing saying they'll get it later. There was a discussion on the radio this morning about a lot less people, in an area not too far away, using the buses as much as they used to. A few people phoned in saying they hadn't had colds since they stopped using the buses. It made me realise that I didn't have a cold last winter. That's when I stopped getting 2 buses each way to go and visit my dad. Might not be anything in it but I wonder.
Hardly slept last night so ended up sleeping in by 2 hours. Just as well it doesn't matter what time I get to work.Christine0 -
Hello Barbara Toni Christine and anyone else I missed.
Barbara you stay warm I hope your cold and cough go as quick as they came.
Toni did the chemo go alright good luck with your move. sue can use dial a ride to go in to town with the wheelchair.
Christine it must have been lovely to rest over the weekend.
sue is not sure how far the wheelchair would go. she can take it on dial a ride and go in to town.
take care all.

The weather can't make its mind up - apart from the temperature - it's freezing.
My new morphine regime arrived today, so will start it tomorrow. 40mg zomorph twice a day, and 5ml oromorph 4 times a day if needed. I haven't been given a date for my blood test Barbara, I just know the DN will come one day this week to do it. I'll let you know - mind you, there's still time for her to come today. :? Hope the soup helped with your cough and that it gets better soon.
Joan, I'm glad Sue can still dial a ride with the wheelchair. At least she can maintain some independence that way. Yes, my GP is a marvel and she has such a great sense of humour too.
Good news for the weekend, it looks as though there might be some improvement in the weather.

Mig, I don't know what your test involves, but I have everything crossed that your results are good, and not TOO nasty.
Barbara, first day using new meds. Thanks for the warning, I'm currently floating, not sure where I'm heading, but it feels very strange. If I start spouting gobbledegook, don't worry, I've probably fallen to sleep. And I'm sure Emily will cope with tomorrow's food.
Joan, I'm glad you have a good doctor. It does make you feel confident and safe.
Whoops, got to say bye for now, I'm off to Lala land."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Joan, I'm so glad Sue can still get out and about with you.
Barbara, sorry to hear you and hubby are still coughing and full of cold. Hope you feel better by tomorrow. I haven't noticed any birds in my garden but maybe because I keep forgetting to put food out and I don't get much chance to look out there at the moment.
Kath, I hope the DN comes to do your blood test sooner rather than later and that the meds work for you. Hope they are right about the weather.
Mg, I hope the scan went well for you.
Youngest GD and I went up to the big park today where there was a bus called Wheels on the Bus. A man read 2 stories and we got to sing 2 songs then we got 2 library books to take home. My eldest GD had braces fitted yesterday and was up crying all night because they were bothering her so much. She got sent home from school today so hope she gets used to them soon.Christine0 -
Hello Kathleen Christine and anyone else I missed.
Kathleen when I had the morphine patches they took the skin of my arm it went in to blisters. the strength was 30 mil anything lower did not work to help the pain now i'm on the liquid I can have it when needed I find if I sit down and put my feet up it helps the pain I had the floating feeling as well.
I hope it helps you.
Christine how are you doing with your pain and your sore eyes.
take care all I hope Barbara is feeling a bit better.
and Mig and her scan.

Hello everyone, I owe you all an apology. Emily sent me the menu, but I'm feeling so tired and out of it, I've not been able to get it organized. I must get it sorted out before Saturday.
The District Nurse turned up about 10am. I'd actually met him before, he did my blood test at our surgery, so we got on well. He did my usual Leflunomide blood test, as well as tests for calcium levels, for anemia and I think cholesterol. He was really nice, rang up before he arrived so we were ready and waiting for him.
Barbara, I had been forewarned about the bowel problem and have suffered for a day or two. We do eat quite a bit of fruit, and I drink water.
Joan, thanks for warning me about the patches. I shall politely refuse if they are offered. My Zomorph is 40mg. I take it in the morning and at bedtime. The Oromorph is 5ml. I can have up to 4 doses in one day. I immediately feel zapped. I'm right off food, as everything leaves a yucky taste in my mouth. I also get very warm, and breathless.
Christine, I bet your GDs enjoyed the bus, with the stories and songs. But very unpleasant for the eldest having the braces in. My youngest daughter and slightly older son both had braces. My son had 5 teeth removed before the braces were fitted. It was well worth it in the end though.
I hope I can post some nice grub soon.
Sending you all lots of love and hope you all have a relative pain free weekend."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Joan, I'm not in too much pain but my eyes are no better. I need to speak to the optician but haven't got round to it yet. Hope your pain isn't too bad with the morphine.
Barbara, it is fun with my GD. I do hope my eldest GD will get used to the braces quickly. It's awful knowing she's in pain. She's using painkillers, hot flannels and bonjela. Hope your cough is starting to ease.
Kath, the DN sounds nice. Hope the tests went well and you don't have to wait long for the results and that you stop having the side effects from the zomorph. I think my GD probably feels like pulling the braces off but if she does, she'd have to start again (that's if the dentist would let her) but, like you say, it'll be worth it in the end.
Heavy snow here all morning. I went in to work late and got the bus to try to avoid it. It stopped just before I left and it had cleared. Thank goodness.Christine0 -
Hello Barbara Kathleen Christine and anyone else I missed.
Barbara how is your cough today. and your other pains getting on.

Hello everyone!
Sorry to be late on.
Had several migraines and today had my hair cut so looking 10 years younger :? maybe
I hope everyone is ok?
The orthodontist told Lucy that if she gave up she would be worse off...so she kept them on. It does feel like your head is in a vice to start with though ((()))
Kath I use bu-trans patches and cope ok skin-wise. I like the fact I take 8 less tablets a day with them and can take paracetamol again for headaches
No rush for the menu :?
Very icy here too Joan I was scared going to the Academy today as we live on a hill and I hate driving in snow and ice. Take care yourself out there.
Barbara I do hope the cough goes soon - mind you I am still coughing a bit and mine started before Christmas......

Joan, I hope the snow and ice has cleared at yours. We only have snow now on the hills in the distance but the puddles are ice.
Toni, I hope your migraines have cleared up now. I'm sure you always look 10 years younger. Hope your ice and snow are clearing too.
Kath, the menu was worth waiting for. I don't know what to choose. Might have to have a bit of a few things.
Barbara, my after-cold coughs usually last quite a few weeks. Strangely this time, my cough got better quickly. In fact, the tickly cough I've had for a few years now is a bit better. :? My GD said things are a little bit better now. You had a fox on the drive? Wow, it must have been hungry to come so close.
I have now had 2 mights decent sleep. Can't believe it. Woke up this morning feeling raring to go. Got the last of the Xmas decorations in to the loft, changed my bedding and tidied the spare room a bit. Phew! Spent a lot of this afternoon on my jigsaw and catching up wth tv recordings. Didn't want to overdo it.Christine0 -
Morning everyone
We have snow!!! Lots of it tooI don't like snow  and Paul is driving up to Scotland tonight after visiting his Mum in hospital
Christine I am so pleased you slept and feel so revitalised for it tooSome restful time doing your puzzle is wise though - don't want to overdo it.
Kath what fabulous grub!!! Wow please do thank Emily. I don't often eat fish, but really fancy the soupI hope you are doing ok?
Joan - how is Sue doing? I hope on the mend. Migraines all gone for now. In a couple of weeks/months time they'll be back. Charley also had them as did Lucy (we think). What a trio  Daisycat doesn't like snow either I worry about salt on her paws because she cleans them :?
Barbara - Charley has rizatriptan which dissolve in her mouth very fast acting, but as she looses feeling on one side of her body with hers she needs them. I hope your cough is beginning to ease - bloomin thing
Onwards and upwards!
