Elizabeth - I am so pleased to hear you have quiet neighbours! Ours are good here really, but this is a family house and too big also with my bones and now Lucy's hip issues ground floor would be sensible.

You are right - bungalows are PRICEY!!!

I hope you are feeling less dizzy?

Please give coco my love :)

Joan - they are addictive!!! I've done 3 more since  great tip putting a note by the kettle!

Christine - I have had 23 moves in my life bearing in mind I have been here 13 years. Itchy feet I have got it off my Dad ;)

Sounds like you have plenty of puzzles to do which will at least exercise the mind

No Barbara yet? I wonder whether she's been doing Joan's puzzles too!!

Toni, you've beaten me. I've only moved 14 times. I'm convinced that if I look far enough back in my family tree, I'll find gypsies.

Barbara, that was a rush. At least you know what's what and hopefully your sinuses will be sorted soon and you can get on with your hip.

Joan, I've just done today's daily puzzle. It said the average time was 8 minutes. I took 17. I was convinced some pieces were missing. Ha ha. Hope you enjoy your swim.

I felt exhausted all day yesterday. I could feel the energy seeping out through my legs. So today is another nothing day. Only problem is all I want to do is eat.

My daughter has just told me they had an open day at their house as the owner wants to rent it out again after my they leave. They had gone out in the morning then came back, tidied up then opened the front door. There were about 50 people waiting to look round the house. The people let their kids run round jumping on the furniture and garden swing. My daughter said it was awful having their privacy invaded like that. She's hoping someone says they want to rent it so they don't have to do it again.

Oh Barbara! Those bloomin sinuses :x It would be good to get that hip booked ASAP. Your hair looks lovely anyway even if it was a rush.

I hope you love your new car. Paul says skodas have VW engines now so it will be a good one :)

Christine I think my Dad's family may have been Hungarian gypsies!! Having kids does rather clip your wings doesn't it? I did yesterday's puzzle in 14 todays 13.13.

I feel so sorry for your daughter! Imagine that :( I would hate it. Hopefully someone will take it.

Ah Joan. You are right our memories are in us. It will probably be harder for the kids who have lived here most of their lives and chances are the bungalow will really only be 'home' for Lucy. The others are growing up :(

    It's perfect for Daisycat!!

In-case it helps my patches never came of when I was swimming :) Enjoy your swim :)

I hope everyone is well today and love also to missing friends

Having kids didn't stop us moving Toni. My mum and dad moved about every 6 years and so did I when I was marred. It was only after I was divorced and moved another 3 times in 2 years when I finally settled. My son then moved to Cornwall then Spain before settling near me and my daughter did the same but then moved 5 more times before going to Australia where she is about to move again.

I had to laugh at myself. I decided to go and find something to do. I've lost count of the number of times I've opened the cupboard in the spare room then closed it again immediately. Anyway, I opened it again and cleared a couple of shelves then decided to check out what was in the 2 big boxes in there. They were full of blue and white plates, saucers and cups which I used to collect many years ago. I had packed them up for when I moved to this house. It's only taken me 21 years to unpack them. They are now on the shelves that I cleared waiting till I decide whether I could get any money for them or if I should just take them to the charity shop.

Hello everyone - well those I can see. Hope those who aren't here are keeping well.

Feeling sorry for all those on the east coast of America. I have a pen pal who lives in New Jersey. Mind you, they are usually prepared for heavy snow falls there.

Joan, I hope the fentanyl is working for you. On my packs it says you can have a shower while you are wearing them, so I thought swimming would be OK. Perhaps you could wear a waterproof armband over it to keep it dry. I have had some success with my first one, topped up with the Oramorph and Paracetamol. I have to change to a new one tomorrow.

Talking about moving house, I think I've moved about a dozen times, including when I was a child. We definitely have gypsies in my family. I have a photo of my granddad taken in the early 1930s. In his trilby, gaiters and boots, with his dog and gun. He used to go rabbiting as a young man. They all went in the cooking pot. He grew all the fruit and veg, and gran would make jams and pickles out of all the produce. Definitely country folk.

Everyone keep warm, well and safe.

Hi everyone, I've not been around for a while - was I missed?!
It's this having to work nonsense that's not leaving me enough time for the pleasant things in life.

So thats two weeks of my phased return done and although I was only doing afternoons, I really felt it from the point of view of having to be up at a set time three days on the trot, we'll see how it goes - my manager did mention the word flexible in relation to the phased return plan ( nice to know somethings flexible even if it's not me!)

Have been trying to keep up with who's doing what but failing, I think.

Barbara did you manage to find a new car? We got a new one last year and I had to do practice getting ins and outs of the ones OH fancied. (He wanted a
4 x4 that could tow a caravan). Unfortunately I had issues with two of his preferred makes and one of them I struggled into and still don't know how I got out! I was certainly shattered after it but we have managed to find a suitable compromise.

Toni I don't envy you moving. Do you know anyone with a magic wand who can just shift you to the new property with a wave of her wand? That's the kind of move I want!! When OH retires near the end of 2017 his job is to tidy up and clear out all our no longer required items and then when I retire in the autumn of 2018 we can up sticks and move nearer the family. That's the plan anyway. I hope your move goes ok

I hope everyone is getting by ok. I'll try to be more up to speed with all your news in future but honestly I don't think it's just my body that's unhappy about having to get itself back to work, I don't think my mind is to stuck on the idea either!

    Love to everyone

Nice to see you back Slomo, Of course you've been missed. Hope you had a good Christmas and New Year - I think it's that long, isn't it? :?

Barbara, I think the patches are helping. The pain seems to be more in my hips now, although my spine still gives me some problems. The Oramorph and paracetamol seems to be helping too. The worry I have now, is that I've lost almost one stone in weight since just before Christmas. My appetite is very up and down, but I'm sure I can squeeze a little lemon drizzle cake in me ooor old tum - and I can wee for England. Every half hour on a bad day!!

Hope that everyone is keeping as well as can be. Can't believe it's almost February.

    21 YEARS to unpack Christine!!

Well l never. Two way of looking at it:

    1. you haven't needed the plates for 21 years so flog them....or....
    2. You have kept them this long so you're meant to have them :)

My parents moved about as often! It was more stressful for us kids than they realised. I remember moving to the Midlands aged about 7 (with a broad Essex accent) and not saying a word for weeks because I didn't understand them!

Looks like the moving bug has passed onto your kids.

Kath I am sooooo pleased to hear the good news about the patches. It's the constant release that helps. No more peeks and troughs :) I'm sure once the pain is settled that your appetite should return.

another gypsy descendent then? That photo sounds amazing :)

Hi Barbara. 2 years is a long time to live with the sinus issue, but I just want you to have your hip done ;) You are right about the bungalow. it's a bungalow - in fabulous spot! Thanks for the lemon drizzle...it certainly puts Costa's to shame...

    Hello Slomo!!! Welcome back.

Yes we have missed you. Good to hear the phased return is going well, but not that work is stopping you popping in here  Don't worry too much about catching up. It's not always possible.

A magic wand is definitely what we need! YES!! and the fairy can make the garden lower maintenance too!!

Hello to Joan when you pop by I'm sure you will.

Hope Elizabeth is ok and all our missing friends :?

    Hello all...
Oh took us to a carboot this morning..well lunch time before I get going..took the chariot, and guess what there were 3 stalls on. and its lovely and mild...so we went for something to eat..and visited his brother in law to help with some pipe work..not me OH
Kath glad the patches are helping anything to take the edge off......just a point I have a ten micro and a 5..and I didnt know I had to wear them on the same arm...I would put one on each arm..think the fentanyl are stronger if I remember..
Toni the bungalow sound lovely, hope we can see a pic of it soon..I am sure you can make the garden easier to manage or like I said someone to help with it..hope all is well for Lucy tomorrow...
Now who has eaten the lemon drizzle cake...

Kath, it does look bad in the US. I have a friend in Canada and I've seen pictures of outside her house a few years ago and the snow was up to the top of the cars. She said they have to park on one side of the road one night and the other side the next night to allow the snow plough through. I guess it's what you're used to. That sounds like a wonderful photo and what a difference to most people's way of life now. Glad the patches are working. Hope your appetite comes back soon.

Slomo, you're name was mentioned a few times with people wondering if you were ok. Good to see you back. It will be tiring for you till you are used to it again. Hope you are settling back in again. Think we could all do with a magic wand.

Barbara, I remember feeling like this the last 2 winters but blood tests didn't show anything. Think I'll ask the pharmacist about vitamin D. Don't know if you can buy it over the counter. After 2 years with bad sinuses, I hope they do get t sorted this time. What a disappointment there only being 3 stalls.

Toni, I only used to display the plates in a Welsh dresser which is long gone so they are definitely going one way or another. I know what you mean about accents. I moved from Glasgow to the NE of England and found it difficult to understand my new friends. They kept asking me to talk because they hadn't heard a Glaswegian accent before. Not that they could understand it. I remember one day, someone saying she was poorly. I thought she meant she'd had an accident in her pants.

Decided to have a walk up to Ald* this afternoon to get out of the house. It was very mild despite being very grey. Bought a new electric toothbrush. Needs to be charged before I can use it.

Christine! That's really funny your accent misunderstanding!!!

Aldi are selling leccie toothbrushes? Mine is on it's way out...might go and have a look.

Ah the plates are on their way out then? See what they're going for on Ebay?

Barbara what a disappointing car boot! :( It IS mild very mild. Typical of your OH to be helping someone still.

I will add the link to the garden when I go on the agent's website again. Talking of which another agent will be here tomorrow

Thank you - lets hope the EEG goes ok eh?

    Nice calm brainwaves please!!!

I hope Joan is ok :? this is odd :?

Hello all. Drizzle cake? What drizzle cake? Must have been me, there were rather a lot of crumbs beneath my chair. Sorry

Just spoken to my GP. The patches I'm using at the moment are 25 mcg. She is sending out a prescription for some more at 12 mcg. She did point out to put them next to each other. Although she is also sending more Oramorph, she is hoping I shouldn't need to use it so often with the larger dose patches.

Joan, I hope you get on well with your patches. I've also made an appointment at the orthopaedic assessment clinic for my hip, on 10th February. It is held at our local health centre, but I can get patient transport with a wheelchair. Enjoy your swim.

Barbara, I have sciatica like pain from my bad hip, into my knee and ankle. It's worse at night. It was you mentioned sciatica wasn't it?

Not liking the look of the expected weather at all. :o  :?

Hi everyone, how' are you all today? We're not long home from my rheumy appt and just got in as a big rain shower landed. Rain is off for the moment but we're promised more later and tomorrow.
While I remember, the lemon drizzle cake was lovely, thank you.

Sadly, Barbara, I will have to keep increasing. my hours until I get back to my 3 full days. The phased return is supposed to be easing me back into things

Christine if you like the plates you've rediscovered you could always ditch your current ones and have a nice change.. Now me, I'd never have unpacked boxes lying for years after a house move, haha - there's a cupboard under the stairs that I've not looked into for ages and I know there's quite a lot of boxes in it.

Toni hope your making progress with your house tidying and moving.

Kathleen yes thank you I had a good Christmas and new year but was surprised by how tiring I found it despite it just being the two of us. Previous festive periods of course I was a resident of HealthyWorld unlike the one just past.

I'm going to luv you and leave you all for now and get us something to eat,
Apologies to everyone I've not mentioned, doesn't mean I don't care just means my brains gone walkabout and I can't remember everyone's news.

Promise I'll try to post more regularly and not let work take over all my brain power.

    Take care everyone

    Evening all

Joan I am relieved that all is well :) Phew!! I hope your swim was a good one.

Barbara Lucy is fine I hate watching her have the EEG she has to hyperventilate for 3 minutes and then there's the strobe light. I am terrified the whole time! I have posted on the Frogmorton thread an update, but overall it's 'good' news.

I promise to post the link soon to the Bungalow.

Kath I also had some drizzle cake!! It was lovely wasn't it? ;) I think with the patches it is trial and error a bit, but once it's sorted hopefully oramporph will only be needed occasionally for break-through pain :)

Rain? Yes rain :( Miserable eh and the wind was getting up today on the way back form the QE.

Ah Slomo you had some lemon drizzle too!! Nice wasn't it? Great with a cup of tea :)

Now there's a thought for Christine - using the blue and white plates instead of her current set!

Thank you I am making progress - tomorrow we have another valuation at 10 am.

Don't worry if you forget to mention one of us - we are not easily offended and we all do it from time to time :)

You come in and join us any time :)

Toni, my toothbrush is actually a sonic one. It buzzed a lot but didn't vibrate and brush like my other electric brush so it didn't feel as if my teeth were being cleaned so not sure about it. Good idea about checking Ebay for prices for my plates. Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the bungalow and garden. I'll pop over to your thread and have a look to see how Lucy is.

Barbara, I called in to have a word with one pharmacist but he was on his lunch break. The second in charge said she thought I might need vitamin B. Went to another pharmacist who suggested the Vit C + D but strongly advised I went to see my GP so I booked in with the nurse practitioner (quicker than a GP) for Friday afternoon. I remember when summers were summers and winters were winters, not all mixed up. They say the weather from the US is on it's way here but it will only be rain, not snow.

Joan, hope you enjoyed your swimming and you managed to transfer the photos.

Kath, hope the patches work well for you. The sciatic pain must be bad. Hopefully, the clinic will get you sorted out.

Slomo, now that's an idea to change my plates over. My idea is to get rid of as much as possible (things I don't use any more) so I don't have to do it when I'm less able or even have to leave it for my son to do. Don't feel you have to post. Most of us have some time out now and again with one thing or another. Just pop in when you feel up to it.

Just looking at the daffodils I bought from T*sc* 2 weeks ago. They are ready for the bin now but I think 2 weeks is good. I'll get some more tomorrow.

Hope everyone has escaped the worst of the weather. We've had strong winds most of the day, but as yet, no rain. My new lot of Fentanyl patches and Oramorph have arrived, just in time really. I have to change the one I'm wearing (25mcg) tomorrow. So now when I change it, I can also put on one of the new 12mcg ones as well. I'm hoping I won't need to use the oramorph as often. I'm also hoping they will ease the pain in my hip too.

Barbara, I find the oramorph give me stomach ache but as yet no sickness. Hope I haven't spoken too soon. But since using the patches, my appetite seems to be returning. I hope your dental appointment went well. :?

Thank you Joan, but my appointment isn't until February 10th. How are you getting on with your patches? And how is Sue now?

Christine, I get Adcal +D3 on prescription. I get OH calcium and vit D combination from T**co. I'm still taking Folic Acid although I'm no longer taking Methotrexate.

Toni, I'm glad to hear Lucy is doing well in spite of all the nasty tests and treatments she needs to have. Yes, the drizzle cake was very moreish. Good luck with the house viewings.

Slomo, healthy world - oh how long it's been since I was there last. :( We know you are thinking of us, just as we are thinking of you, so don't worry abut not mentioning anyone. :)

We are expecting our T**sc* delivery soon, should be between 4- 5pm. It's been an absolute boon. Can't think why we didn't do it before.
