Hello Barbara Elizabeth Kathleen Toni and anyone else I missed.
Barbara i'm sorry about your back what caused it in the beginning. mine was caused by falling of horses.
Elizabeth I always sit in a wheelchair to do the hovering and when I carry the washing to the airing cupboard.
Kathleen i'm sorry you have RA I hope the patches work for you.
I used to knit my polo neck jumpers.
Toni good luck with the bungalow its good its gone down in price.
Barbara I just saw you sorry about Niamh at least they caught it in time.

Hello everyone, hope some of you at least are having a reasonable weekend. That wind is pretty bad again.

Joan, I used to go horse riding as a teenager. Not very good at it though. Once when on a leading rein, my pony swerved into a cabbage field and bucked me off. Landed on my back on top of a huge cabbage. :? I was unconscious for about 3 minutes. No broken bones though thank goodness.

Barbara, some days are better than others, depends on how I slept, and what I've been doing (not much now days). The patches are making me sulky and miserable. Get very upset and anxious over nothing. Emily keeps telling me my body will get used to them soon. Alex's husband Claude was on them for a long time. He has cerebral palsy and has had a lot of surgery. Last year his hoist snapped while Alex was hoisting him into the bath, and he landed on the hard bathroom floor. Very painful, poor man.

Toni you naughty lady. Lovely of you to keep the cafe clean, but you should be resting after yesterday. :balloon:

    Christine, n030.gif

Elizabeth, well done to you daughter. We might see her on the national news one day soon.

Joan, please don't do too much if your back hurts. Little and often with the hovering etc.

Barbara, sorry your MRI showed your back was bad. Not surprised you felt down. Hope you feel a bit better now. At least you are on your way to get your hip done and getting your sinuses sorted out. Thank you for the flowers. It is indeed my birthday. If the government hadn't messed about and changed the pension age, I would now be an old age pensioner. :valentine: Hope it's not long for Niamh's appointment.

Kath, I do the odd little knitted thing but it's not so easy when the fingers don't want to work properly.

Elizabeth, hope the date for the first visit is soon. Yes, it's my daughter in Australia. They have bought this house. Good luck to both your daughters.

Toni, great news about the bungalow. Fingers crossed the one you are going to see is terrible. You do a wonderful job cleaning in here.

I had a lovely surprise today. My son said they were taking me out for lunch because it's my 60th birthday today. Instead, they had arranged for all my family to be at their house for a surprise party. I got lots of cards and flowers. My daughter and son are still planning what to buy me as I couldn't think what I want. Might be a greenhouse or a water feature for the garden.

    Oh Christine!!!!!!!!!!!!

    t3304.gif

Happy belated birthday!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you had your surprise party :) What a lovely family.

I'm glad you're not a pensioner - you are far too young ;)

The house was actually rather nice.....empty as the owner had died. Had been a doctor so a 'good' house, but in need of a lot of work so Paul is thinking ;)

    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-52870921.html

Aw Kath :( I do hope you adjust to the patches soon. they help you :( I tend to agree with Emily to keep on them for now, but don't let yourself get 'down' will you?

Poor poor Claude!! What a scary time for him! I hope he's ok now?

Sorry to be naughty, but the cabbage story did make me laugh a bit  No harm done I hope?

Hi Joan :) You are very wise to sit to do strenuous jobs. I sit for peeling veggies and ironing too. Every little helps eh? I used to knit, but my Mum always sewed things together for me so now I just crochet little things like hearts and those animal-coasters :)

Our Niamh??? Really Barbara? She's so bright and into everything best of luck I will have everything crossed. Elizabeth is your woman for that sort of knowledge - very knowledgeable.

I bet you middle GD (how old is she now?) enjoyed a bit of spoiling ;)

Well done everyone the place is still sparkling clean!

    c045.gif

just going to empty the bin.

and give the windows a once-over!

Hello Kathleen Christine Toni Mig and anyone else I missed.
Kathleen i'm sorry the patches make you feel like that I hope it goes soon. was it the sling to the hoist that broke. I did horse riding for 30 years and taught disabled to ride on a Sunday.
Christine i'm pleased you had a lovely birthday.
i'm back taking co-cos for the aching only 2 once a day.
Toni it must be hard to choose witch one you want. the right one will come to you.

Yes Joan, it was either the strap or the bit the strap fixes on to - not sure. Something had developed a fault. Claude is fine now. He needed an operation on his legs. They are very undeveloped because of his condition, as he has never been able to walk or use them in any way. It must be very difficult for Alex, but she looks after him brilliantly, although he does have a couple of carers too. 30 years teaching riding, :) You should have taught me, I might have learned a bit more.

Christine, had to check back at your post. My rubbish eyes read 'thong' instead of 'thing'. The mind boggles. It wasn't just my fingers, after two rows my eyes would give up and I'd fall asleep. I'm just the same now with reading. I'm trying to read the Father Brown stories but it's difficult and the tv series finishes this week. I shall miss it.

Getting a bit anxious now, it's my assessment on Wednesday morning. :?

Joan I have hurt my back quite a few times when working..and then had a few falls on ice..I hope yours isn't to bad..you are clever knitting polo neck jumpers...
Kath the patched make me tired still but dont think we would notice if I was more grumpy  but must say I did have the anxious feeling in the beginning but not now..hope they carry on helping..poor Claude that must have been such a shock..
Toni the house has an indoor swimming pool... :balloon: wow..that would be good for Lucy..must say I still like the bungalow...pss dont tell Paul..
Christine you do not look 60 going off your pic on facebook..I am amazed...hoe lovely of your son to organize a party for you..bet you had a shock when you walked in :valentine:

Aw thank you Toni. That is so kind. Was that really a swimming pool? I think I might be a bit undecided now. How do you feel about it?

Thank you Mig. I did have a good day.

Joan, I've only ever ridden a horse 3 times and really enjoyed it. It must have been very fulfilling to teach riding.

Kath, oo-er, knitted thongs? Wonder if there's a market for them. Could you buy the dvds of Father Brown? Hope it goes well on Wednesday.

Thank you Barbara. That's very kind of you. I did get a shock. My son told me they were taking me out for lunch. He picked me up and said we needed to go back to pick the others up as they weren't ready. When we got to the house, he said the little one was hiding and then everyone jumped out. I'm sure you have just as much fun watching your OH playing with Niamh.

Spent most of today trying to finish my latest jigsaw. Not much to do but the last pieces are proving a bit difficult. My son brought their spare tv round as I want one in the kitchen to keep me company so I can sit at the table to do things.

Kath the smilie sitting thinking was perfect!! Don't worry about Wednesday we will be with you in your pocket :) Was the Father Brown a new series I enjoyed that last year very much?

Joan you enjoy your swim this afternoon. Good the doc is upping your patches :) You're right we will find the right house. Still think bungalow though.....

Barbara - I also used to make jewellery!! It was fun and rewarding as l remember :) I know how you feel about your back - I never forget mine either ::)

Hi there mig :) Hope you are ok?

Christine yes a pool, but it's VERY small and can't work out whether it's heated. I also thought of the water for Lucy's hip and shoulder, but we won't choose based on that. Paul has got some day passes for his gym so she will go there see if it helps :)

I bet the TV is nice in the background. I have one in our kitchen here and wouldn't be without it.

Love to everyone here and those missing :?

Oh dear, the poor doggie next door had begun to cry a bit when his/her mummy and daddy have gone out. I don't know whether it's a girl or boy, but OH has seen it in the back yard and it's a small golden spaniel.

Lovely, I'll have a nice pocket full of cafe roses on Wednesday. Thank you. xx

Joan, I'm sorry you need stronger patches. But I hope the new ones help with your pain. Enjoy you swim.

Christine, you can probably get Father Brown on DVD but I think I'd rather have audio books. But I'm such a cheapskate.

Toni, I think the first few episodes were new ones, but the rest were repeats. I love it and don't mind repeats. I'm the same with Midsommer Murders. But I quite like the Neil Dudgeon ones too. I see that the actor who used to play Sergeant Troy in the early MM episodes is now in Coronation Street.

Barbara, it's amazing how good they are at puzzles at their age. How lovely to be making jewellery. You'll have to show us once you've made some. I think sometimes our eyesight can deteriorate without us realising. It wouldn't hurt to get them tested. I'm wondering how Cate and Toady are too. Hope they're ok.

Joan I only got a tiny bit wet going to work. I'd taken spare trousers just in case but didn't need them. Hope you enjoyed your swim today. :raining-love:

Toni, I think a pool is tempting but, as you say, you can't choose based on that. The bungalow does look really lovely. I've got the tv now but didn't think about an aerial. Have to sort that at the weekend.

Kath, poor doggie. I don't like hearing them cry but you can't stay with them all the time. Hope he gets used to being left sometimes. I've only just found I can download audio books to my tablet. I enjoy reading at bedtime but think it might be nice to have someone read to me then I can close my eyes.

Did anyone have a Chinese meal today with it being Chinese new year? I had Chinese curry. I had a packet of curry sauce in the freezer (can't remember where I got it but it was Chinese) so I added just chicken and vegetables. Pancakes tomorrow. :valentine:

Kath..the poor doggy some just dont like being left..hope it doesn't start barking
Christine what a good idea downloading the audio books..I used to sit and listen to them when my dad was hear..he was blind and they loaned him a machine..the voices were so good..I didn't have anything Chinese..to be honest I forgot..I did wounder why my son said the Chinese buffet was full.. now there was a clue..
Joan they upped my patches think I stated on 5s..now they are 20..I hope they help you and did you enjoy the swimming its such good exercise..

I have two patches Joan, one is 25 and the other is a 12. I can fix them on side by side. I'm getting quite good at it now.
    :balloon:

Barbara, I know a lady who has 70 mcg patches after a foot operation. She says she wouldn't be able to walk without them. Although she still uses two crutches.

Christine, no Chinese meal for us. Today we had beef soup with wholemeal bread. A quick meal as OH had to do a bit of shopping and fetch his pension. I haven't been out since the beginning of December. I do hope they sort me out soon so I can be more help to him.

OK, wipe me soggy eyes, slap a cheesy grin on me face, Father Brown is on in a few minutes. :D

At last, some sunshine, but it's so cold today.

mig, I hope all goes well on Friday, I'm sure your family will have many memories to talk over.

My appointment went well and I came home feeling more positive and at ease than I have in weeks. Apparently the osteoarthritis in my hip is very minimal, and hurts more because of my back. So no treatment will be necessary for now. The physiotherapist showed me my X-Rays. There are 3 small spinal fractures, can't remember their numbers now. There is only a small dip in them, but hecky thump, they did hurt. She said they are about half way through the the healing process. So not too bad really.

    Hello everyone :)

All is well here clearing up slowly for the carpets - Paul has had them put back until a week Thursday to help me out a bit.

Lucy is asleep on the settee.

I prefer the weekly patches too Barbara I'd never remember 3 day ones!! But of course less chance of a rash if you change them more often Joan.

Kath I am pleased about your hip, but not that your back is so sore ((()))

Will be thinking of you on Friday Mig ((()))

    Sunny here too :)

Love to everyone and our missing friends too
