Thanks for my birthday wishes. I had a lovely day. Charlie is coming to visit today as she was unwell last weekend and also having a belated Mothers day meal tomorrow.
Your Charlie looks lovely in red Toni. I hope she also had a lovely day.
I sometimes use 2 crutches but mostly one. There was a time I had none and those days were awful. Trouble is I really need two pairs, one upstairs and one downstairs.
Sorry to hear your fave house has already gone. Hopefully better one will come along Toni.
Hope everybody is well. Joan are you watching Crufts?
Take care and look after your loved ones. Some of you may know I am related to Keith emerson who has died so I am naturally sad.

Elizabeth its good to see you posting..you must be looking forward to Charley coming to see you..crutches are a pian but needs must, the hospital gave me two pairs when I had my first hip done..so there is always either one or two upstairs..I did know you was related to Keith Emerson..its so sad...

Elizabeth, I didn't know you were related to Keith Emerson. I was sorry to hear of his passing. (((hugs)))
Toni, sorry you lost the house. There must be a better one somewhere. It'll come along soon. Hope Charley and her OH enjoy their trip to Chester Zoo.
Mig, that is expensive. Hope you are enjoying your weekend away. Goodness me, bet it took ages to get rid of all the bubbles and the kitchen must smell lovely and fresh.
Slomo, I'm the same. Don't get in the café every day. Sometimes there's too much to catch up on so no need to say sorry. Hope work is going ok and you're not getting too tired.
Barbara, your hair looks lovely. Are you all ready for Thursday? Hope you've got big pockets for us all. Did you get out yesterday? Happy birthday to your son for yesterday and your GD for today.
Joan, that must have been wonderful being at pony camp. A friend of mine at school was crazy about horses. She still is. Hope you are having a good weekend.
Kath, glad you are feeling a bit better but 5 weeks is a long time to wait if you are in so much pain. Maybe try to see if you can get in sooner. I think I'll have the smoked haddock soup, Persian lamb and it has to be the Irish cream chocolate trifle.
Well I did get to see the Flying Scotsman on Thursday evening. It took me about 20 minutes to get there. The bridge I had to cross was blocked off on the side I needed to be on so I had to walk past it, cross over and walk back down so I was panicking I'd miss it. Luckily it was held up. Unfortunately because people were standing on the line to see it. A lot of people stood on the bridge looking up to the viaduct but a lot of us went round the corner to another bridge which looked down on the viaduct. By the time it arrived, it was a bit dark so we didn't see it properly till it was about to go under us. The driver did give us a toooot tooooot though. It was supposed to come back the other way in a couple of weeks but the timetable has been taken down so we're not sure now.
Hope everyone is having at least a reasonable weekend. xxChristine0 -

Well, it has been so long, I feel as if I might have vanished from memory. Rose, Elizabeth Toni, Frogmorton, Joan, Barbara, all the lovely familiar faces are here, which is lovely to see.
Apologies for being away for so so long, this past year and more has just flown by. After Mum passed away, time just ran away, sorting things out, wondering where the last 5 years have gone, from one hospital to another almost constantly. It all takes it toll on you and the OH.
Now Mum in Law has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, so the last few months have been hospitals, clinics, etc etc. She is keeping so positive and upbeat, a true credit, doing all the normal things like coffee out and cakes of courseWe are keeping things as normal as possible too, taking each day as it comes.
I am as slow as ever, still taking a shed load of drugs, 52 a day and counting, but, they do keep me going, albeit in a cloud of fog !! OH is a rock and then some. Carers allowance of something like a few pence an hour is pitiful. Anyway, that's another topic. It is nice to pop back, I will take a large cup of T and a couple of scones, (they don't seem to upset my blood sugars), so scones it is. Take care XXXX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hello bubbles its so lovely to see your name in the cafe..
Im so sorry to hear about your mum in law, sometimes it seems never ending..but good to see she is a positive person..has for you , what would we do without our OHs..think you have a keeper there..
now dont leave it so long next time..I will go and make you a builders..and there are plenty of scones..I think..have seen a lot of crumbs lately..x

Joan, hope you've had some good weather like we had here. How are your doggies doing?
Toni, have you been to see any more houses this weekend? It sounds as if your friend is making a good recovery. Enjoy your night out.
Barbara, yes it was lovely here too. Hope you enjoyed your 'walk' out. Oh I do love people watching.
Bubbles, good to see you back. No need for apologies. There has been a lot going on in your life. Sorry to hear about your mum in law but it is good she is keeping positive. Enjoy your tea and scones.
I'm feeling quite pleased with myself today. After doing nothing yesterday, today I finally got a coat of gloss on the bathroom window frames and cills. Later I went in to the garden and as it was such a lovely day, decided to do a little tidying up. I ended up doing quite a bit. I've got hurty hands now so waiting to see what I'll be like tomorrow. At least I enjoyed being outside in the garden.Christine0 -
Thank you Joan and Barbara, it is good to be back.
Our partners are for keeps, without a doubt.
Our kitchen has just had a coat of paint, so looking very smart now, just the ceiling to be finished now. I cannot hold a brush now, paint would be all over, neuropathy is a pain and very irritating.
People watching, oh yes indeedy, a fav pastime of ours. We have family staying with the in laws, so we are all doing lunch tomorrow at the garden centre near us. Could sit there all day and watch folks coming and going - sometimes passing the odd comment, lol. A scone after lunch, will go down a treat.
Hope everyone has good weather tomorrow, I see sunshine forecast and OH has decided to mow the lawn, (that will annoy the neighbours). They will have to do theirs then
Crumbs, oh dear, I will get the vacuum. XX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Thank you for your kind wishes folks. I was dreading the day he died as we are all big supporters but it came a lot sooner than expected.
I would love to go on the Flying Scotsman Applerose. So glad you got to see it. I'd also love to go on the Orient Express but it is so expensive.
Hope you all enjoyed the 21st party Toni. Red is also my favourite colour. My Charlie bought me some bright red poppies for my birthday. It has brightened up the lounge which is looking a tad worn out. Yes it was lovely to see her and we put the world to rights.I treated her to vegan pizza and she bought me a birthday cake
We had our late Mothers day meal yesterday. I really enjoyed myself. The restaurant turned off the music for Daniel and were very kind to him. I did say if anyone else wanted the music on then that was fine but nobody asked. We treated OH parents this time and we had a chance to chat. OH dad is non-PC so I visibly winced a dozen times but otherwise it all went very well.
I haven't seen Kath in here for awhile. I hope you are managing Kath as I see you had a bad spell.
Well the itching has now gone and the fatigue is easing(hence why I am on here early in the morning) so I wonder if they are connected?
Hello Bubbles and nice to see you. So sorry that your MIL is now diagnosed with terminal cancer after all you have been through lately. I am glad she is still able to continue doing the things she enjoys.
Barbara are you going into hospital? Is this for your hip?I'll take another look back so forgive me if I've missed anything.
Joan I enjoyed Crufts and saw a couple of Dachshunds looking beautiful.
Gosh hope I've remembered everyone. We have more beautiful sunshine today and it is thankfully warmer. Take care all and hus to those missing (where is Toady)?

Hi Barbara Joan Elizabeth Christine
What a lovely day it is 8) Sunshine a plenty.
Hope all goes well with your hip op Barbara, sending hugs through the ether.
Had a lovely meal at the garden centre today, with family, who treated us, which was v nice indeed. I even had a scone, after lunch, best not check my blood sugar for another hour or so. It was almost warm enough to sit out, almost. It was very busy, the sunshine had brought everyone out of the woodwork.
I was just reading about cruelty to one of the breeds at Crufts, I think they were German Shepherds, will take another look. It is top headline in the Daily Mail (other newspapers are available).
Well, all the cats are sprawled out, snoozing in the sunshine, won't be too long before I am in the same state. Cannot make a full day without a lay down and nap. Bless eh.
Everyone take lots of care XXXX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hello all, it's nice to see some sunshine for a change. Although still rather cold. We sat out for a while yesterday, mainly because our elf house arrived. A lovely young couple who run a small gardening business, made it for us. It's an oak log with windows and a door, it looks lovely in among the undergrowth.
We've just found out there are loads of lovely events around the local marina this weekend. And I can't go:roll: It's just too far for me to walk there. In fact I can only just make it to our front gate. :? Things are still very up and down. So painful some days, not quite as bad on others. :x
Bubbles, glad you and the cats are enjoying the sun.
Barbara, counting down the days for you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Elizabeth, thank you for asking about me. today has not been a good day. Hope things are good for you.
Christine, painting again. I know who to call when we need some doing.
Toni, I hope Lucy is getting some rest after her fall.
Joan, hope you and sue are OK."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Toady was poorly last heard Elizabeth :?
I think the itching and fatigue must be linked...even though I have no idea why, but i think the two have eased together before. So good you had a lovely Mum's day and you and Charlie had a good natter
Putting the world to rights is most gratifying
Bubbles it's lovely to see youWe already mowed our grass as we have the house n the market. Our buyer looks like a definite, but now I am worried about finding us a home :? I hope your MIL is enjoying this time. Mine is ill too. Her dialysis is failing a bit now, diminishing returns and has been in hospital for 6 weeks.
One of Lucy's chemo friends has days and is 19. It's all rubbish isn't it? Anyway isn't great to see you
Barbara I hope you are doing ok? I think I am feeling nerves for you a little too. I really hope your back is eased a little by the hip op - I am SURE it's a good move ((()))
Get yourself lots of lovely beads ready to make jewellery when you get home and feel up to it
Joan - my friend is doing well yes - luckily the dog is a very wee Yorkie though!! I hope you are still having sunshine up there - it was lovely again today hereI don't mind it being cold if it's bright
Kath - I hope you are on the mend - albeit slowly. A week ago you wouldn't have got to the gate I think you are doing really well. I wish I could think of something to help you ((()))
I want to see a photo of the elf house!!! PLEASE
Christine we accidentally saw a house!! I was being nosey and set the dogs off barking so the lady came out and said she had two viewings booked so we could have a look! a bit big though very similar to the one we missed.
I did nothing yesterday , but ended up crawling to the loo in the night. Not too bad today though I hope your hands are less hurty. You did well doing the windows
Love to you all

Bubbles, a coat of paint makes such a difference doesn't it? Glad you enjoyed your lunch out. Yes, it's getting warmer. Can't wait for summer. It's terrible to hear of cruelty to any animal. I hope whoever it was gets banned from keeping dogs.
Elizabeth, I bet the poppies look lovely in your lounge. That was good of the restaurant to turn off the music and of the diners to understand. Glad your itching has gone and your fatigue isn't so bad now.
Joan, glad you had some sunshine. It's been almost warm at times here but still chilly at other times.
Barbara, I did expect some pain but I'm used to it so just plod on with jobs when I can. Back, bum and legs were sore today. Mostly muscles that haven't been used in a while I think. Glad there's plenty of room in your pocket for everyone.
Kath, oh your elf house sounds lovely. I once had a door and windows to fasten to a tree but I gave it to my son to put in his garden for the kids but he thinks his wife threw them out. Haven't seen them again since. What a shame you can't get out. Do you have a wheelchair or could you borrow one maybe? As for the painting, it's taken me about 3 weeks to paint 2 window frames. And Toni mentioned me helping with hers so might get round to yours next year sometime.
Toni, I love it, you accidentally saw a house. At least you got to have a look round. I'm sure you will find one soon. Someone once suggested to me that I put notes through the doors of any houses I liked the look of saying I was interested in buying. My hands are a bit swollen today and muscles I obviously haven't used in a while are sore today but c'est la vie. Hope you've been ok today after having to crawl to the toilet.
My daughter bought me something for Mothers Day and told me to expect an email within 8 hours. It didn't arrive so she had to contact them about it. Apparently my firewall had stopped it. They resent it and it's my very own star with my name now attached to it.Christine0 -
Thank you Toni, good to see you too. Life is indeed, so cruel, no matter how you try and reason or make sense of it all. All in all we have had 5 years of almost none stop hospitals, family passing, illness and everything else thrown in the mix. It takes it toll on you without a doubt.
Keep us posted on the housing market, let's hope sales and new houses go smoothly, it is a stressful time.
Elf houses, I have seen them for sale on the internet, they look so cute, we have so many trees around, I could have an elf cityI have my buggy in the hall cupboard now, my OH cannot lift it in and out of the car, it nearly cripples him. Fortunately most places have buggies and wheelchairs. I know we can hire them for the day in town, for very small costs. Hugs for improvements in mobilising a bit more easily.
Well, I will potter a while, sitting at lunch time although enjoyable, does me no good, I end up chair shaped and taking Tramodol like sweets.
Take care XX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning all..the sun is peeping out..
bubbles you have had a rough 5 years..we seemed to go through that many years ago with my mum and dad..it does wear you out..and at the time didnt realize it..so you try and have some me time now ..and thanks for the hugs
Toni thats a good idea order more beads...any excuse..
so sad for the young man..I hope he is not in pain..will be thinking about you and Lucy I can only imagine how this effect you...his poor family ...I do feel for them..
Kath the Elf house sound lovely and just up my street..glad you could sit out for a while..OH has cut our grass and tidied up for when I come out of hospital..it better be nice..sorry you cant get to the marina...its a shame when we have to miss out on things like this..is a taxi out the question..if it is you have a nice treat at home..
Christine sorry your daughter had to contact them,
but what a lovely present and ideal for you..much better than chocolates...now you will have to get a telescope..we do feel the muscle when the garden season comes round..I am going to sit on my stool and empty the large tough I have ready for some nice plants..

I seemed to have missed so much while I was away for the week-end will have to read it all to catch up.
We had a great time in Glasgow but its a big scary place place, everyone is so friendly we sorted of lost our way when wandering round the city we just stopped people and asked where things were and they were so helpful in the end we got a tour bus which was fantastic. So a big thank-you to the people of Glasgow.
The sunday it was the babies naming day as well as his first birthday it was super, lots of his little friends there but they were so well behaved but they had a good time.
Barbara good luck for thursday I will be thinking of you. Mig0 -
Hi Joan, Christine, Barabara, Mig, Toni and all
Hope everyone is as ok as possible
Had an us time this morning, sipping large amounts of coffee in Nero's. (other places to drink coffee are available)Had snacks and a large chocolate muffin which was very good. Picked up my new glasses, now I can see to read again, which helps.
Sun was out so I thought, no coat, I will be fine, forgetting that it is still March and it was windy, so I was frozen bow legged, my own fault.
Glad you had a good time in Glasgow. I would have been scared too, I don't like big towns and cities, I get very unsettled. The people in Scotland are very friendly though, we would move there, way up into the highlands if we could. Then you have to think, about starting all over again with Drs and Hospitals etc etc. Access to medical facilities.
I was going to do a little ironing, but I have gone off the idea totally.
Take care one and all XXX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Bubbles, that's a long time to have so many things going on. Hopefully that's the end of them for you. It's a great idea being able to hire a wheelchair in town. I'm the same. Can't sit for long without ending up walking bent over for a while. I do love sitting in coffee shops drinking and eating. Ironing will be there till you're ready for it.
Barbara, haven't cut my grass yet. It's still too wet here. Hope you got your trough ready for your plants. Another lovely trip to the garden centre?
Mig, yes Glasgow people are very friendly. I was born there and lived there till I was 10. Glad you had a good time.
Joan, it's turned cold and wet here again. Hope it's fine where you are.
T*sc* had my favourite ice cream back in today but I was good and didn't buy any. For 2 weeks running, they didn't have the bread I usually buy so I contacted them and asked about it. They said it had been discontinued. Went last week and today and they had it back in. Don't know if I'm coming or going.Christine0 -
Morning all..cloudy and a bit chilly here
bubbles glad you got your glasses,..has for the ironing I often look at jobs and think I will not bother...we hardly iron anything now, only the ones that are really creased that we have to wear..now the us time sounded good that is what life is for..
Mig thankyou..glad you had a good time..I'm the same in bust places they overwhelm me..yes the Scottish are lovely, we have a friend near Hamilton..baby naming day I hadn't heard of that..but it sounds good to have all the little ones around
Christine..we never cut our grass so early but OH said he would do it in case it was sunny when I came out of hospital...I had to tell him not to scalp it..what a shame they dont have your bread..I hope you can find somewhere else..oops just had a read of your post again I see they have the bread back in..no wounder you confused..and no I didnt get the trough cleaned out..
Joan hope all is well with both of you..and Sue is recovering well..very hardy twins you are
All packed now I think ..I keep going through the bag thinking I have forgotten something...wouldn't care but OH can bring what I forget..think its panic time..
If Toady look in I hope you are getting there..and we are always here...
