Bubbles, I can imagine all the men wandering round the supermarket with the wrong veg thinking how well they've done. Glad you enjoyed your lunch despite the cold.

Joan, fingers crossed Barbara will be home tomorrow.

Kath, more yummy food. I think tonight it will be the beef casserole because I love ginger and the hot cross bun and butter pudding.

Toni, how long do you think it will be before you move? Hope things are ok with you. Is Lucy fully recovered from her fall yet?

My GD is 3 next week but had her first day at nursery today. Mum stayed with her and said she really enjoyed it. Hope she still does after Easter when mum won't be there. We'll be making cards and an Easter bonnet tomorrow.

I hope Barbara is home safe and resting. Things haven't been the same in the cafe without her. xxx

Bubbles, reminds me of an episode of The Apprentice where one of the contestants picked up a bunch of carrots and asked "what are these".

I got some new pain relief tablets to use with my morphine. Nefopam Hydrochloride. I've never heard of them. I can take one or two three time a day. Tried one, now trying two. They haven't worked yet. :x

We have missed Barbara haven't we?

I am glad Joan that she is being allowed home for good behaviour :)

Christine we hope to move before summer. I am glad to hear your GD loved nursery.

Kath - I think I have heard of that drug - acupan. I have a friend on it who can't take a lot of different painkillers - actually it's the one who had the reconstruction.

I have posted a photo of Lucy on the thread - it's really pretty and it's today :)

I've been hit by the fatigue stick again. So annoying. I took my first humira for a month or so and I'm sure it is that causing the fatigue. I can't sleep at night either as I'm either boiling hot, in pain with the hip, needing the loo or thirsty!

So Dan is out at club tonight and respite stay over is tomorrow so I'll be sleeping rather than living it up. Yes I'm going to be a bit sad hoping he is okay. I'm packing lots of paper but because he does lots of detailed drawings and time lines so it will keep him occupied. He loves the sensory room and told me he'll 'have a nice relax'.

Thank you Joan for the update on Barbara. She should be home now. Hello Barbara can you see me waving?

Glad GD enjoyed her first day at nursery Applerose. Sorry not seen any photos of your Mum. Are they on facebook?
I think the clocks change last Sunday in March and we've still got one to go but I may be wrong.

Hope the pills start working Kath. You get all geared up for them and nothing happens  Are they painkillers? You need them to work and quickly.

Toni I'll take a peep at the pic of Lucy. Hope the house news is still the same.
    Love to all

Thanks for letting us know about Barbara, Joan. Hope she is resting at home now. She has been missed.

Kath, I've not heard of those. Hope taking two works for you.

Toni, it'll be great to be in your new house in time for the summer. Not long now. Lucy's hair looks lovely. It has grown well.

Elizabeth, sorry to hear you have fatigue again. You must be feeling drained not getting any sleep either. It sounds as if Dan will enjoy his stay over. Hopefully you can catch up on some sleep. When I mentioned 'mum' in my last post, I meant my GD's mum. She stayed with my GD for her first day at nursery.

Barbara, hope you are at home now taking it easy and no more funny turns.

Spent most of the day making Easter cards and decorating an Easter hat. My GD wouldn't put it on to let me take a picture so her mum is going to try later.

Hi everyone, have been wi-fi less these past few days, since Saturday in fact when we took off on our holidays giving our new (to us ) caravan it's first run. Have had a quick nosy at whats been happening and who's doing what.
Barbara, have been thinking of you, bet you're glad to be home again amongst all your own things. I did the passing out thing when I had my boys, The first time I was out of bed I just went down in a heap as soon as my feet touched the floor, with my youngest I made it to the bathroom door before I went down, fortunately I'd mentioned it to the nurses and they were on hand to catch me. Hope your convalescence goes well.
Toni, things seem to be moving along for you on the house front, good luck with it. Lucy's hair looks great, it must really boost her spirits seeing it like that.
Mig , loved the courgette/cucumber story, I could just imagine him standing there thinking and then grabbing the long green thing and hoping for the best.

We've spent today with our best friend (so I'm quite tired now) and on Friday we're seeing our boys as we pass through the area on our way back home, work on Monday (boo, not fair, don't get Easter Monday off, can I play hooky and sneak on the bus for the outing?)
I'll leave you all with a question, my hairdresser says she's seen people whose hair has developed a wave in it when they've been on steroids, have any of heard of or experienced that?? Wouldn't mind that side effect!

    All the best to everyone,

Oh dear Slomo working on Monday?

    t4021.gif

this will come for you at lunchtime and return you afterwards.

Lovely to spend time with good friends and almost always worth any payback :)

No wave on steroids for Lucy in her hair it's as straight as usual. My eldest Charley's hair started to curl at the age of 12!

Christine I hope your GD will let her Mum take a photo I would love to see her Easter hat :)

    Mig - helloooo! :)

Elizabeth - the fatigue does seem connected to the meds doesn't it? It' suppose to help with the RA symptoms! Your nights sound very like mine ATM

I hope with Dan at respite you will take the chance to rest yourself ((()))

House news still ok thanks :)

Barbara - I don't know whether you'll be too tired to see our messages yet, but by the heck lass you have been missed!!!

    WELCOME HOME

Hope all is well with you all Joan :)

    Love to all

Hooray, Barbara is home. Make sure you get plenty of rest. xxx

Toni, yes they are also known as acupan.

Elizabeth, they are pain killers, plain and simple.

But no Christine, as yet they aren't working for me.

I have shed quite a few tears this morning, the pain was so bad. Didn't sleep again last night. I am alternating them with Paracetamol.

District Nurse came again this morning. I had a fasting blood test along with FBC, ESR, CTX, TFT's, Vit D, Bone Profile, U + E's, and a urine sample electrophoresis. Some take about 4 weeks to get the results so consultant is hoping they will be ready for my appointment with her on the 18th.

Kath I'm sorry you are in so much pain and the pain killers aren't working well enough. The fasting blood test can't have been welcomed either. Hope they start to kick in.

Interesting question Slomo. I've got a new curl , just below my ear which was never there before. But I only take the steroid injection once a year (to enable me to get through the Summer Hols). Sorry you've got to work on Monday.

Respite tonight and I'm nervous. He has a 1-1 tonight so he should be okay and not escape out of a window(doors are all number locks). When he left for school this morning he said 'see you tomorrow' in his monotone style. He melted my heart.

Have a nice evening Barbara. You'll have mixed feelings elation now the op is all over and extreme tiredness and some pain.

Take care everyone else and have a lovely Easter.

    Hi all,
Barbara, hope you're resting and looking after yourself, great that you're back home safe and sound, sending you some positive thoughts at aid recovery

Toni, I'll take you up on the offer of the balloon flight to escape work and join the outing! Shouldn't be hard to find me, just head north east of the country, I'll pop a note on the thread so they know to expect me.

Kath, you poor thing, I hope you start feeling better soon, even just a bit better would be a start in the right direction.

All the best to everyone, are we allowed to say happy Easter?? I see C**b**y no longer sell Easter eggs, they've apparently taken away the word Easter from the product in case it offends people ??!

Slomo, hope you had a good holiday in your caravan. It doesn't seem fair to be working when most people are off. My boss wasn't around today so he'll find out in the morning that I'm not working. I read about Cadbury. They said that they didn't put Easter on the front of the boxes because everyone knows they are Easter eggs and it could then include other faiths too. It still says they are Easter eggs on the sides and backs of the boxes. I checked.

Toni, isn't it strange how hair sometimes changes like that. I'm hoping to get a picture of my GD in her hat too.

Joan, good to hear Barbara is home again. Hope you have a good Easter weekend.

Kath, sorry you are in so much pain. 4 weeks sounds like a long time to wait but these tests do take a while. I hope you can cope till then and they can do something to help then.

Elizabeth, I hope you haven't been sitting worrying about Dan. I'm sure he will be fine.

My boss and his wife weren't around today so they don't know whether I'm working tomorrow or not. They'll find out when I don't turn up. I've not worked a bank holiday since I started working there 15 years ago but they didn't leave my wages so they might be expecting me. I saw a post on FB which showed how long you need to walk to work off each type of egg you eat. So far I need to walk for 3 and a half hours.

I lost my post from last night

    Never mind.

Kath I am so sorry you are suffering so much. I hope you got some sleep last night :? I also hope the bloods only show up things they can fix. It's good they are being thorough.

Christine 3 and a half hours? 3 and a half HOURS!??? blimey girl!

Enjoy your bank holidays both of them not having to work. So long as you don't need your wages of course.

    Slomo
I have added to the Easter jaunt thread incase anyone else wants a lift with you :) I'll find you no problem ;)

    Happy EASTER to you

    t6301.gif

    and everyone else.

I hope Dan's respite went well for you all Elizabeth. I can understand the lump in your throat when he said 'bye.

    Especially for you.

You have a new curl? Well Lucy has been almost on non-stop steroids for 2 years (stopped now due to AVN of course) and hers is still as straight as ever. Much to her disappointment.

Joan - thanks for keeping us up to date about Barbara all week, (and last).

I think we will celebrate properly when she gets in here. She will feel quite weak, I should think, as well as shaken up by travelling home.

Christine they should remember if you have never worked a bank holiday.
Barbara welcome home have a good Easter everyone.

I'm not bothered they've left out the word Easter because the eggs still represent Easter whether they like it or not and anyone objecting shouldn't buy them in the first place. Having said that my Cadbury eggs have Easter written on the side.
I've not eaten any eggs so no long walks to burn it all off for me.

So Dan is home and he went straight upstairs and isn't speaking to me. I'll give him time alone to get over it all. He's not keen on answering questions anyway but that could be his age! I as so tired I just watched TV and had my usual feeling boiling hot. needing the toilet, pain in hip and thirsty night but slept better for the latter part, probably cos I was so tired.

I've never ever made an Easter bonnet Applerose. I hope your GD allows you to take a photograph. When she sees others wearing them she might be more forthcoming. Joan makes a good point in that if you've worked a B/H before then they won't expect you.

Toni the curl drives me mad. My hair is very thin and it just doesn't want to lie straight.

OH is 50 on Friday and we are going out for a meal (just us 5) but then we sort of suggested a buffet for Sunday but OH said he'd not feel up to it after a Sat night out with his friends so I stopped organising and searching for food. Today he said it was back on!!!! It will have to be cold food such as crisps as our oven is rubbish but that suits me. Its just finding the time for a shop now.

Hoping Kath is coping and Barbara is recovering.
Toni are all the girls home for Easter? Have they all seen the 'new' house yet?

right I'll pop off but will keep an eye out for Barbara's return and anyone else who pops in.

    Take care

hello everyone and a very big thankyou for all your messages and post on the forum , I have read them all... :D
poor Joan didnt know if she was coming or going with my text  all went well apart from being last on the list again..so it was 4ish from 7 in the morning..no real pain and was very well looked after..even better than the last hip..think some of you know its Wrightington in Wigan...they come form all over the country and ones from further afield..I just can't fault it...I just felt really unwell this time and blood pressure kept dropping so they kept me in another 2 days..OH has been brilliant bless him :D so just one day at a time now..and the best bit is the district nurse comes to do my injections..I hate to put extra work on them but she said she is in the area every night around 9..
Right I will go and read some more post..hope you are all doing has well has possible
Much love to all of you...xxxxxxxx..

Hi to everyone, hugs to those who are not feeling great, Barbara and Kath, extra hugs and the keys to the medicine trolley...........

The days have flown by once again, I really loose track. If it wasn't for my phone I would not have a clue what I am supposed to be doing, or even what day it is. Meeting up with family yesterday, I was chatting to my Uncle and both of us forgot what we were talking about - oh dear.
More family coming up to stay nearby over the Easter holiday week, so no doubt we will be off into the wild blue yonder, well, about 20 minutes away, that's plenty far enough :)

Easter eggs, offending, well, that could be a whole new topic and things could get quite out of hand - bonkers, as my Dad would have said.
It is Easter and a special time, maybe that's with my Dad being a Vicar, but, it is and it should stay that way. OK Bubbles, don't get onto that soap box.

Enjoy Easter, everyone, chocolates a plenty or, maybe just a few. Take lots of care, XXX Bubbles

Toni, posts seem to go awol quite a lot in here, don't they? Might be gremlins. Yes, 3 1/2 hours. That's only 1 Easter egg (average size), 1 crème egg (very small) and a small packet of tiny eggs. I'll do all the walking later.

Joan, we've had a lovely sunny warm day here today. Hope you have too.

Elizabeth, it was probably a little strange for Dan but I'm sure he won't take long to come round. Sorry you weren't comfortable but glad you managed some sleep. Your curl reminded me of the nursery rhyme There was a little girl who had a little curl ........ I'm sure you will do a good buffet whatever you decide on and you OH will have a good birthday.

Barbara, good to have you back in the café. Don't worry about catching up with posts (as you always tell us). Hope you are feeling a bit better by now.

My GC called round to collect their Easter eggs this morning and I spent this afternoon tidying up around the pond. Also got all my washing done. I was thinking of going out somewhere one of the days over the weekend but it sounds as if the weather will be really bad.

    LOVELY to see you Barbara!!

Is it lovely to be home? I wonder whether you slept better or worse at home - a lot find there first night home isn't comfy at all.

    s050.gif

Glad the nurse is nice :)

Now I want Lucy to be seen by them at Wrighton!!

Hi there Joan Hope you all have a good Easter and some dog chocs for the doggies!!!

Elizabeth Did the staff say whether Dan appeared to be ok in respite? I am sure he was and hope he is back to normal by now. Now the first stay is over with I hope you'll be able to relax more next time.

A birthday Buffet eh? Yes Crisps and nuts andork pies sausage rolls etc will do them.

Charley is here, but Tia is doing something - suspect gone to her BFs parents caravan in Wales with them this weekend and not told us

My hair is totally straight, but would find one off curl doing it's own thing annoying too :?

    Christine
I think that I lose my own posts I think I think I've submitted but actually returned to 'chit chat' or something.

I think if you walk every day a bit extra and spread your eggs out over the weekend?

I am going to have a pond in my new house!!! I haven't ever ad one before :) Oh gosh! My frog house! I will have to leave it I expect??

Overcast here so expecting rain later.

Off to see my friend who has had her reconstruction done later.

Bubbles you did make me laugh there thinking of you and your Uncle both loosing the plot together :) I bet he felt better you doing it too :)

I hope you enjoy all the family visits - it should be lovely seeing them all :)

AS for Easter and the egg saga we can just go on calling them what we want can't we?

    Your Dad is right.

Well I hope I didn't miss anyone and that Kath is doing a bit better pain-wise.

I think Bubbles I will help you do a drugs audit later!!!
