Hello, waiting for hip replacement

Hi all,

I was born with ddh Ans have had arthritis in the joint for many years following 6 surgeries as a child, I have been on the waiting list for a thr for just over a year now I saw my surgeon a week ago Ans he has moved me up one priority band but said he is unable to give me any idea of an anticipated date. Struggling so much with the pain and no end in sight

I see that you have DDH and are now waiting for hip replacement and been advised that timing cannot be forecast. This must be very distressing in view of the pain you are suffering. As you will see from other posts on the community, the issue of waiting times is much under discussion at the moment. There was a Panorama programme on Monday last, “ NHS: Wait or Pay”, now available on iPlayer.
