Finger Arthritis

I'm having an X-ray of my right hand (and I am right handed) soon. My middle finger is very misshapen and my 'pointing' finger is starting to bend. I am not able to make a fist with my right hand at all and have lost most movement in all of the top joints. My question is, has anyone had their finger joints replaced? Is it worth it? How successful was the surgery and what is post-op recovery? (I understand things can be different for everyone, but interested to know what experience others have had.)
