PIP
I've just had my telephone assessment for PIP. I just wondered if people were awarded PIP for Rheumatoud Arthritis. My factor is > 650 and my anti ccp is 426 which apparently makes it more aggressive. I was diagnosed late October. I was prescribed methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine. The methotrexate has not been stopped because it made me so sick.

Yes I got awarded PIP recently. I was diagnosed with RA in September. You can call and ask for a copy of your assesment report. It will give you an idea of how it went and if you think you should have got more points, the copy will give you a chance to prepare if you want to ask for a mandatory reconsideration. If that fails you can take it to a tribunal. I think over 90% of tribunal cases are sucessful. Many people give up for before that stage though which is a pity, although understandable. My understanding is PIP is not so much the diagnosis but how it affects your day to day life. If the RA is affecting your day to day life (and i am quite sure it will be) with pain, dressing, undressing ect, ect you are deffo entitled to it. Fingers crossed you get it first time, like I did. Mine took a week to decide also, so you may not have to wait too long.

The DWP don't care about our figures😕 just how much having RA affects your ability to do daily tasks and get about as @iwannerbeme says.
Wishing you the best of luck and hope you'll let us know how successful you are
