it’s take me a while to accept I’ve actually got it before starting to learn to cope with it. If the doctors can sort it what am I left with, cababillity wise used to cycle walking with camera. I’ve had methotrexate , salfosaladine and infusion and going to start abatacept is it going to work doctor says yes obviously but has anyone had success with it in the group here

I was diagnosed with RA and then later OA started medication 2 years ago. (still getting my head around it all)!

I had success with Hydroxychloroquine, which helps my RA.

Methotrexate made me ill so awaiting new Yuflyma (bio meds) hopefully sorted in New Year some meds do work it is just getting the right sort and doseage to suit you.

I have steroid injections in elbows for OA which help too.

I am sure you will get sorted to.

    Best wishes @Naomi33

Well after doing pain management programmes I realised what I could not do so went back to basics and I joined a walking group (slow) but do what I can now so there is hope 😘

is that walking whilst you have a flare or are you in what I think they call remission . I do walk when I can but get very tired with paracetamol , ibrufen and codene which I take every 4 hours

Well like you as and when I feel up to it but found it the best exercise for me as natural movement.

Flare ups can stop me from getting out of bed so just ride the storm as best I can and wait for better days.

Winter weather not helping me at all 🥶 roll on Spring

Sadly I found people do not understand the condition therefore no one can help you unless you help yourself.

Signing off now take care and hope you have a good week.

@mike123 take whoever is calling you lazy to your next rheumatology apt and let them hear from the expert just how debilitating the condition is! Your posts made me quite cross to be honest when I am flaring it's all i can do to even stay awake!!!!😠

You could also google 'spoon theory' and let them read that.

    Take care Mike
