Methotrexate injections

Morning all
Hope today is a good day for you.
I’ve changed into the methotrexate injections as the tablets are just not cutting the mustard. However I’m 4 weeks into the injections & am not noticing any benefit at all 👎🏼
Can anyone give any advice as to when the injections start to take effect, is 4 weeks long enough to notice a difference if they are going to work?
Thanks all 🙌🏼

Hello @Xeni I suppose the answer is that it takes time to work and how long that is depends on the person. Not much of an answer I know. However have a look through the following and also I hope others will share their experiences with you.
Best wishes
Peter

Hi Xeni
I have just had my first Metoject injection last week. I have Psoriatic Arthritis and Enthesitis. My consultant told me it can take 3 - 4 months to see any improvement. I’m hoping it works sooner!! 4 weeks is maybe a bit early to see any changes but keep going and hopefully you will have some improvement soon. Take Care.

Hi @Xeni
I agree with some of our other members - 4 weeks is probably too short a time to notice a great improvement. I take methotrexate in tablet form but every time they change the dosage the time needed to see improvement goes back to 12 weeks so I assume it is 12 weeks if you change the method of delivery as well.
Have you tried discussing it with the RA nurse?
Best wishes
Mary
