Does anyone have problems Folic Acid

My mum takes folic acid with her RA pills & has stomach ache after taking it. Takes it in the evening on a full load.

    I've linked to the emc (electronic medicines conpendium) page about folic acid, it gives the below as possible side effects.

    The side effects that some patients have had with Folic Acid Tablets are:

    • loss of appetite (anorexia)
    • feeling sick
    • bloating of the stomach
    • flatulence (wind)
    • worsening of the symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency. Folic acid should never be used to treat anaemia without a full investigation of the cause.

    I feel your mums pain as I suffer aswell. I get nausea after taking both the RA medication and the folic acid tablets, on different days.

    To minimise the nausea, which comes on really quickly, I take both medications last thing at night before I get into bed. Previously I took them during the day and just felt rubbish.

    The evening routine works better for me.
