Hello All,

Has anyone seen adverts for bee venom cream? And if so, has anyone tried it? It might be just another 'try this and dispel all pain and boney growth' myths! Most of them are!

Just wondered if it would be a complete waste of money. Oh, and yes, it is advertised on Facebook. 😏😊 Thanks

    Morning @Ribble

Personally I would ask at a pharmacy or Holland and Barratt.

    Best wishes @

    Hi, @Ribble

I would think that a cream wouldn't actually do much of anything as the bee venom has to enter the blood stream to cause the reaction.

a topical cream that sits on the upper layer of skin isn't going to reach the blood stream in any significant way and to pass the safety requirements for any creams to be sold legally I'd say it hardly contains any actual bee venom as

people who are allergic to bee venom and have not discovered their allergy yet would be at serious risk if it actually could do anything much.

Personally I have had a noticeable effect on pain levels from my home made chilli , the capsicum from the peppers

can take the edge off my pain and stiffness but I'd be the size of a house if I ate it everyday and I found the costs of buying capsicum pills from the health food shop very off putting (I haven't got Holland and Barret kind of finances, lol)

    Hi, @Lizebeth

Thanks for your comments. You've certainly summed up the effects of surface creams very well! I've read that capcimum is very effective on arthritic pain. I'm quite lucky really. I'm not experiencing oa pain badly at the moment, I keep fit and active doing regular cycling and walking which all helps. I take glucosamine condroitin and marine collagen. I have 1 hip replacement and 1 knee which have both left me pain free. The other hip is on its way but I'm ok with that.

I just buy on line to keep costs down.
