To miss quote radio phone in's. First time poster with hip arthritis.
Hello everyone,
Well this is something I never thought I'd be involved with. About 4 weeks ago, went to the dos'c with a pain, after the x rays went back to find out I've got hip Arthritis. Then 2 weeks later the pain and discomfort really did kick in.
My first question if anyone can help if I dose myself up and feel up to it will 9 holes of golf do me more harm than good.
Good luck to us all.

Hello @17665
Welcome to the forum, it's great that you have found us and we hope that you will find it a supportive and informative place.
Maybe pop in to your local pharmacy/chemist to get some advice about managing your pain with over the counter pain relief, or ask the GP for something on a prescription?
In general the advice is to keep active, so maybe try the '9 holes' and see how you get on. It is important to keep doing the things you love for your mental wellbeing as well as your physical health.

I've edited the title of your post to include the word 'hip' for relevance. I hope you don't mind.

Hi
I play golf as much as possible with OA in my knee. I dose myself with Naproxen and paracetamol which lasts about 3/4 hours which is enough time to get round. I find that although it can be a struggle I feel much better for playing and it does free up my knee for a while. Good luck with playing yourself.
