Partial or total knee replacement?

Another question from me. I rarely see people mention having partial knee replacements. According to NICE in the majority of knee OA cases it is primarily the medial compartment that is badly affected, and it is expected that circa 40-45% of people with end-stage knee OA are suitable for partial knee replacements. NICE guidance says that those suitable for partial knee replacement should be given the option.

In most of Yorkshire and the north-east of England partial knee replacements account for only around 7%, but some localised areas do meet the 45%. This seems to be due to the surgeons not being trained in partial knee replacements, and not bothering to upgrade their skills. Just wondering how many here have been offered partial knee replacements or at least had discussions about it?

I am one of those suitable for partial knee replacements, but there are very few surgeons locally who do them.

Just wondering how many of you have been offered partial knee replacements. How do you feel about the outcome?
