    Here's a couple of links for you to have a read through, hopefully they help a little. You could reach out to your rheumatologist to see if you could perhaps tweak or change your medication, make sure to tell them how you are feeling and that the pain is affecting your mental health.

    Hope you get sorted and take care of yourself.

    Welcome. That's quite a short post!

    Are you being referred for potential hip replacement? Are you seeing a physiotherapist?

    Sorry for the very late comments, I am seeing a physiotherapist, has said I don't have much hip movement, I am doing exercises to try for strengthing the hips as well as movement. I have been told hip replacement could end up being an option, I think I have to go down all avenues first. Medication wise I got took off 1 and put on another which does help with the pain, that's me on naproxen and diazapan.thank you so much for links will check them out in a minute 😊.

    @leoloopy

    I found that I had to go through various procedures before finally being referred for hip surgery and think that this is the same for most people. I would suggest that you speak to your physiotherapist or Doctor and see if you can be referred to MSK. With me I was offered a steroid injection to help with the pain/stiffness ( was taking Naproxen but that stopped working ) and as that did not work was then referred on to Orthopaedics for my hip replacement. If you decide to go down this route be aware that after a steroid injection I was advised that I had to wait up to 6 months for the referral to be done. Hope this helps.🙂

    I had my second hip replacement in September and have only ever been offered strong pain killers so do not know what effect a steroid injection will have. The operations have been amazingly effective and I am now back to doing lots of activities that I used to do without any pain. However it did take me a long time to get to that point and it was only after I wrote a very long online consult request stating just how badly the pain and lack of mobility was effecting me that anyone took me seriously. Physio and exercise can help by strengthening your muscles which will aid your recovery post op. I cannot comment on how effective steroid injections are as I was never offered any but I would recommend trying to keep as active as possible while you wait for any surgery as this will help in your recovery later . Best of luck x

    Fran yes I think I have to go through the same also,it was the doctors physio who mentioned i could have the steroid one in knee but the hospital physio who i see said because it's in the hip joint they don't think it will work, I also think they want to see how I get on with the exercises.

    WWDG I do try but because am on a mixture of tablets I can doze of alo, as well as osteoarthritis I have restless legs and cyrosis of liver. I have a small dog so that gets me out every day, wasn't the only reason I got her tho lol x
