I am new to arthritis and still trying to work of which drug will help my condition, so sometimes I feel rough. I have been offered the RSV vaccine by the NHS but not sure if I should take it in case it makes things worse. I wonder if anyone has experienced difficulties with it.

@Sisi I don't recall any adverse reaction to vaccine recently except for long ago my tetanus booster nearly knocked me out for a few hours so I am dreading the time when I might need another one. None of my recent vaccines caused a problem including covid jab, shingles jab, pneumonia jab (not sure its called that), and blood tests, I haven't had the RSV one yet so no idea if I would react to it. However I have generally learnt to tolerate having a jab or a blood test and stopped making sure a nurse was on hand to pick me up up off the floor if I conked out. I pretend to go swimming instead.

I would go with what the NHS are offering. Talk to your GP/specialist. I haven't had any strong adverse reactions to vaccinations - Covid sometimes has a mild side-effect but my husband who has no arthritis, had a worse side-effect than me! He is also inclined to "conk out" so warns the nurse in advance.

Always go by what the GP/specialist suggestes and talk to them about any fears. There is a lot of rubbish out there by quacks. The medical profession, especially rhumatologists, know what they are talking about.

    Good luck.

I agree with Moira - talk to your GP, nurse, or Rheumatologist who will know your medical history best. Versus Arthritis have got some more information about vaccines that I found useful - here it is: https://versusarthritis.org/about-arthritis/living-with-arthritis/vaccinations/
