Afterwaiting 11 months for a pain clinic appointment they finally phonedlast Thursday.

My nsaid was stopped last May after 38 years use of Froben 100mganti inflamatory which finally started rotting my stomach. Up untilthat day this concoction of meds worked perfectly with no stomachissues what so ever and held my condition at bay.

now its back with a vengence.

the stomach pain did ease after 3 weeks so i was started on a cox2 Etoricoxib 60mg. sadly the pain started up again in my stomach andnow moved to my groin area and has been continuous for past 11months. I stopped this one a month later but the stomach paincontinued.

In the last 6 months my good right hip has totally gone bone onbone and xray shows very severe. my c spine neck has also startedpain in last month.

Im on df118 codein and oromorph as well as 20mg methotrexate and6 weekly anti tnf infusion bio similar remsima but this new doctor atpain clinic wants to start me on Duloxetine starting on 20mg andmoving upto 60mg

Doctor asks to check with my mental health team before startingbut ive never been seen by anyone for mental health.

Has anyone else been prescribed Duloxetine and what were the sideeffects.

Im very reluctant to start this drug as i dont fancy beeingtotally out of it all the time especially with the morphine andcodein which also make you drousy.

Think i would rather go back on my original nsaid and suffer thestomach pain more.

Ive got a mri booked in a month as when i also saw Gastro cliniclast week Crones disease was mentioned.

Any adice on the above drug would be greatly welcomed.

    Good morning @MrDJ sounds as though you've had a rough time of late with your stomach meaning you have 'lost' a really effective treatment.

    Thank you for those links.really appretiated.

    i did do a search but strangely couldnt find anything but when i posted this it looked like the forum was having network server issues as it would not post then an hour later 2 posts appeared.

    there is a duplicate post which a mod or admin can delete please.
