Ill health retirement
Hi all.
I’ve had RA since I was 24yrs old and now 51. I’ve worked in the NHS since I was 21yrs old and work full time through gritted teeth!
I’ve recently been diagnosed with inflammation of the pituitary gland which has caused so many issues with my endocrine system and currently off work long term sick.
The past few years have been getting harder managing the RA and work life balance and I’m feeling exhausted with it all.
I had a long term sickness review recently and I discussed the option of ill health retirement with all that’s going on.
My Endocrinologist advised to use the RA to lend more weight for ill health retirement but I’m worried about starting the process and no been awarded I’ll health retirement and then not have a job!
I feel I’m drowning with all the health issues and trying to keep myself well to work which turns makes things worse!
My GP said she would support my application and I will also ask my Rheumatologist.
Has anyone gone through this process or could offer any advice?
Thank you
