Hello! I am deciding between taking either Humira or toxilizimab and I am interested in people's experience of either biologic treatment both positive and negative. I have not got on with methodrexatate, hydroxychloroquine nor sulphasalzine so my rheumatologist is keen for me to now move to a biologic. She has asked me to consider my options! I was first diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in November 2023 and have struggled with the traditional dmards. I am currently on oral predinone to give me pain relief before I embark on my next treatment. It has been a challenge finding anything that I will tolerate so I am keep to hear any experiences of these two biologics, especially side effects. Please do reply if you can - I'd love to hear from you! Thank you so much.

    Hello

Sounds like we have a similar story. I take Yulflyma. It’s been the best thing (along side the reduction of stress and diet changes).

According to AI Humira and Yulflyma are brands - but the drug is the same. The one you mention is different.

Whilst I still have fatigue flare ups and stiffness, in general I am in remission with no really side affect that I’m aware of from taking Yulflyma. I couldn’t stand the DMARdS - they really affected my mental state.

    Hope this helps

    We feel your pain.

Ive not had them drugs but been on Infliximab anti TNF for 24 years. changed to the cheper bio similar after 15 years which is Remsima.

also on 20mg methotrexate a week and 2 sulphasalazine a day.

I waked in on crutches and after the first infusion walked out unaided for the first time in 13 years. esr and crp dropped from almost 100 to 7 & 10.

sadly the damage was already done and after many ops im still in pain but have kept working and driving.

As far as i can remember it took roughly 2 years to find out what worked for me back in 1985 so as said there are lots of choices out there so defo give them a try.

hope all goes well and keep us posted.
