Hello @gillytara10
Welcome to the online community, you are among friends here who do understand what you’re going through and are here to support you. If your pain killers don’t seem to be working, could you ask the doctors or nurses what else they can suggest? You may be able to be referred to a pain clinic where other treatments may be considered.
Some people find that very gentle exercise can help ease the pain and also help build up your muscles around your knee joint. Here’s a link below to some details about about knee pain and some of the ways you can help manage it, including gentle exercise. I hope they are of some help.
Do let us know how you’re getting on,

I remember my knee op. Have you had advice form the physio in the hospital?
They were very helpful to me both in hospital with exercises and what I needed at home.
The exercises were dificult and painful to begin with, but got better as the muscles got stronger. So keep at them, they really do work.
Ask for the help of an occupational therapist to assess for you going home, so that you are prepared.
Keep your exercises up. I used to make the weirdest noises when I first did my exercises. caused great hilarity at home.
It's worth it once you get the legs moving, so don't give up. Godd luck.
