Hi All, been diagnosed with oa in both ankles 8 months ago, been on and off work (warehousing) since then and my current stint is nearly 3 months on ssp off work.I have had cortisoid injections in both, left took the pain away a bit, but not the right. Sitting here praying for the pain to subside on the right so I can go back to work as £500ssp is not enough to live on. I have had conflicting info on what to do if I cannot make it back to work, claim pip now whilst still at work, dont claim pip until they lay your off, ive been told i will get no pip as the points system means you have to be pretty much invalid etc etc. I have had a lot of people point me to info online (thanks I already have google), other telling me to get a lighter job (If I could have, I would have years ago) and other useless suggestions. According to you knowledgeable lot what should my next step be if I cannot go back to work? thanks
