The spring

The spring new and fresh, so young and fragile. Its beauty breath, taking. The new shoots poked trough the dark chocolate blanket covering the land.
The crocus was so delicate, she grew up. from a young bulb. Will had sown so lovingly along the strip of land which was his allotement. Old will pottered around in his green house preparing, planting his seeds. He potted on his seedlings his heart thumped with joy as his mind remembered happy memorys of springs of yestur year. He walked his Arthritic limbs felt eased. The spring made him feel happy and alive. He looked over at the crocus what a beauty. He thought she was taller now. The crocus her delecate petals sheilded her modesty from the world she was so beautiful will couldn't take his eyes off her. The petals so colourful so breath-taking like a dress. The perfume so fragrant she was just stunning she would turn many a head.
The people were amazed and anchanted by her. The very sight of her uplifted everyone and made there lives worth living. The spring made everyone feel a lot better the dark days of winter were long gone and everyone felt so much better. by joanne price

Hi Joanne what a lovely Poem you are truly gifted.
It reminded me of not so long ago when in far of places
I would think oh for my England my England in the spring
It reminds me of the old black and white movies and of
days gone by. Alas my garden and my so much loved green house,
that’s just full of cobwebs and spiders now. This arthritic body just cant do it any more. There is real beauty in flowers and as you pointed out the sowing of the seed, the potting on and then the planting in the spring.
The joy of seeing them bloom and the pride I had in growing them.
    Colin

thanks for that. I love the flowers and used to do the garden. We have had to make it so its less maintainace now as i find it too much to do both house and the garden. My husbend is an allotement man and is all vegetables he puts a few flowers to attract the bees on there but really he is a vegetable grower so this piece is relly based on him. There is a bit of me in the piece also. I Prefer eating and cooking the veg and love the fact they are so fresh and tasty. but i would never grow them myself i love me flowers from joanne
