Ooooh ... I've just spent 10 mins trying to open a so called 'easy to open' bottle of fizzy juice.
Almost impossible ... have had to resort to a screw driver type thing.

For goodness sake, surely we can get a bottle that can be opened by someone other than a gorilla. :x :x :(

I have the same problem with plastic milk containers. I get really angry swear a lot and then change hands- then it opens!! I have come up with a theory in my own particular (or should that be peculiar!) case- I am chronically left handed!! If I change to opening it with my right hand it seems easier-Perhaps the 'screw the top on' machine is biased!!

    Hi there
Actually have to confess i could never open the wretched things even before arthur. I attack them big time with scissors, knife or anything lying around that might suffice. Think there are various 'tools' that mobility places sell to try and aid bottle/ container opening.

    Hi guys
When my Mum was really ill - she lived on Lucozade alone.
She couldn't open them at all (luckily I was well at the time really) so I used to have to open them for her.
I thought it was for ill (therefore weak) people?!!!

You're all missing the point here.

These bottles, cartons, jars are put on the market for us to be sociable with - didn't you realise that when we can't open them you go out onto the streets, wait till someone comes along, preferably a nice, young, very strong man and get him to open them for us.

I have alot to teach you all obviously.:lol:

i have on many occasions had to ask passers by to help, luckily they usually do!
i struggle with opening many things, from 'lady products' sorry, but they are a nightmare! to pill bottles, then theres trying to push pills out of the blister packs, grrr!
squeezy bottles, impossible when you have no squeezy hand strength.
it's one of the most frustrating things, you want a fizzy drink but you can't open it, you need an extra tablet due to pain but can't get them out the pack, i to have been redused to swearing and crying from these things on many occasions.
sorry i'm no help but i'm there with you!!!

    Hi Fayrose,
I have a hole load of things that my hands don't like to play over now a days. As someone said there are devises that are meant to be good for bottles and jars. I sometimes use a drawer to hold the lid and turn the bottle....
Hey I saw on another thread you still got your old boys :D I could use one of mine to open bottles but I don't think it would enhance the flavour..... and it would lead to more fur balls  :) ...... He would be willing though my old lady opens cans but isn't so good at giving them back! Take care, Cris x

    Hi fayrose
I agree with all previous comments, my hands are completely useless when it comes to dealing with packaging of all kinds. I live in a flat on the second floor so passing strangers to smile sweetly at are thin on the ground so usually put offending item back, muttering under my breath. I have just got toothpaste squeezer wonderful and now desperately need blister pack opener, when a girl needs her painkillers she needs them now not after a tussle which ends when the pill shoots across kitchen followed rapidly by cat who has been watching tussle. Always get there first, it a very small kitchen.
With so many people having problems with packaging you would think that gadgets would be easy to find without having to go to mobility shops or specialist catalogues :!: Fay
