Hello everyone
Have O/A in both hips and lower back, have recently had an MRI Scan as my consultant wants me to have a steroid injection into my spine to help ease the pain.
I am not sure whether it will help at all, has anyone else had these injections please, would appreciate your views.
Best Wishes
Lyn

Hello I've had steroid injections into both my wrists for carpel tunnel. The fist time they worked for about 3 weeks or so but the pain and tingling came back, then the rhummy gave me a different kind of steriod and that lasted a about 2 months maybe longer. Sometimes they cure the inflamation but I am waiting to see the surgeon :( Not really, its a very simple thing. :D:D But I know their are different types of pain block they sometimes use on the spine. Someone else will know more than me! :) Love Sue

    Hi Lyn

Yes i have had Steroid injections into my back.

I found them very uncomfortable and had quite abit of after pain initially but they didn't work for me.

That doesn't mean they won't work for you!
If you are like me and have had problems for years anything is worth a try.

    Good luck :)

    Hi Lyn,

I've had steroid injections into my knees and they were absolutely brilliant - they were effective for about 8 months.

I've also had them in my elbows and shoulders where the effect wasn't quite as dramatic, but still worth a go.

I sincerely hope it works for you, please keep us posted.

    Hi Lyn
I too have OA in my neck, lower spine and both hips
I have had a steroid injection several years ago into my lower spine and it did not make any difference at all.
Then in Feb this year I had a steroid injection into my hip and that didnt work at all either. So I am having a hip replacement in a few months time.
My husband had one into his spine last year and that didnt do anything for him.
But its worth a try it seems to work for some people and not for others.
Lets hope it will work for you and give you some relief.
