Yes I take omeprazole once daily in the mornings and Naproxen twice daily.
I think I'll just have to be patient and wait until my next Rheumy appointment if it gets intolerable I'll have to go to my GP.

Inflammatory Arthritis is an auto immune condition and just as it attacks your joints - it could also attack your stomach to. So keep a diary and see if it is also on the same time as your joint flare ups.

Food intolerance - it could be that. But also bear in mind that auto immune conditions make our immune more hyper sensitive and that means that one day you could get a reactin from 1 food and not another. It is very complex!

I have found that I am cow's milk intolerant and can't drink it. But I can have butter, yoghurt and other products that have been processed from cow's milk. So you may be the same. May be worth cutting out raw cow's milk and see if you are better.

Pro-otic supplement tablets may help you and there is another food supplement that I take when I have a bad stomach and it sorts me out. It is called 'glutamine'. It is a food supplement, an enzyme that we naturally produce. Take a same amount 1/4 - 1/2 a teaspoon before you eat with a little bit of water or juice. Take it for a couple of days and then when your stomach is back to normal then stop. If you private message me I will send you details of a company where you can get it. It really helped me. Remember though to check with your GP if you are on a lot of medication. But I am sure that this will be fine.

hi there i just read a bit of your message i have ra and i suffer with tum i take a tab called lanzopozole for mine i suffered for years with indigestion etc i never knew ra could affect tum i just thought was all the bloody tabs i took . joy x

My stomach became unbearable, terrible ache and pain top of belly. I went to Dr this morning and he took me off the Naproxen and gave me modified release ibufrofen for the evenings to try. I only get the joint problems ery bad first thing in the morning and by the afternoon it is tolerable so hopefully these will help.
The Dr said because I have a history of an Ulcer it could be provking something in there. Also he said when taking Naproxen it is quite common to have stomach upsets from it because of one of the ingredients. Also, because I was on the loo quite a lot he said the tablets were not staying in my system long enough to do anything so that was why I was getting the joint pain back.
I'll start the new tablets tonight and hopefuly they'll help a bit more.
The GP I am seeing at the moment is a god-send. He is so patient and I like how he is prepared to listen and understand, which I think for a lot of us is half the battle.

Hope you are all well! hi there im not too bad thanks i had to stop the brufen tabs as they were causin the tum thing also not good if you have asthma as well im on celebex now one in morning one at night i was on brufen retard for years before i questioned the symptoms i was havin with my chest etc nobody tells you these things . when i first got ra i was on steriods and the pink brufen no one told me you just couldn stop takin them i did i suffered then . the worst i ever was was ten years ago was in agony with every joint in my body head the lot i lost 2 stone in weight had depression couldn sleep didn eat cos of the pain my right leg withered away cos i couldn walk any where my shoulder was so bad i slept with a pillow under it i was a wreck i wouldn go out or anythin cried all the time , felt like that on thurs this wk its like a big black cloud over your head .....
