Hi everyone well I fainted in the shower yesterday never done that before My husband totally over reacted and made me go to the Doctors he thinks I might be anemic after my surgery but it was ten weeks ago now thought I would have recovered by now. Has anyone else experienced that?

Debbie,
I don't think your husband overreacted. You should get it checked out some people take longer to get over ops than others and if you are ameamic then it is better to get it sorted out quickly and then you will feel better quicker.0 -
Hi
It could be anaemia, a simple blood test could rule that out. Or it could have been a vaso vagal episode which is a type of fainting which can be triggered by prolonged standing and hyperthermia (becoming too hot). Not sure if you were in a hot shower for a long time standing, but either way, if you haven`t fainted before its worth checking out. Do you have any blood pressure issues?

I think it could have possibly been low blood pressure - that can make you feel dizzy and faint but I'm also with hubby - best to get it checked, falling all over the place is not recommended for new joints.

I hadn't been in the shower long cannot stand above a few minuets and the shower wasn't hot will now more next week I usualy have no blood pressure probs so might be just one of those things I was tired didn't sleep well the night before so that could be it. Thanks for your support Debbie0 -
Hi
I am ten weeks on tues and for about six weeks have been feeling dizzy and falling when I get up. The doc took my blood pressure and found that it was dropping when I stand up but has offered me no solution was to caught up with swine flu.

Hi,
Fainting, especially when you'r not the fainting type, is something that you should get checked over, just to give you had your husband peace of mind. I'll bet he had more of a shock than you. As you have had recent surgery, and 10 weeks isn't long really, for your body to repair itself. You could be aniemic, and thats easy to check and put right.
It may be just one of those things, and I hope you feel a lot better! Love0
