I have an underactive thyroid as well as RA.
Was diagnosed with the thyroid problem when I was thirty and then the RA when I was forty.
Also my son has an autoimmune disease he was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 6. (Although he is a very healthy 6ft 17 year old now.)
I have sometimes wondered if there is any connection, but have been told there isn't.

Hi Christine
I am 50 and have RA, Asthma, Migraines, Severe Allergies & Blood Pressure issues.
When going on holiday my meds take up more room in my suitcase than my clothes...

I have ra and sjogrens overlap with raynauds and cutaneous vasculitis. Think the overlap syndrome can come under the mixed connective tissue disorder. Just means we don't fit into a neat box. I think of it like a pick and mix condition, I'm just greedy not happy with just having one thing  Also as its overlaped sometimes means that the conditions aren't as severe as having one full blown condition but overtime one condition can develop more then the others. As you have schloroma have you looked on the raynauds society uk website? They also produce a good info leafter on mixed connective tissure disorder.
Best wishes

I have probable PA(which has a psorasis element), underactive tyroid showed up when being tested for possibe RA.now thought to be PA(!) Since then I have developed bad hayfever/allergy to perfumes/smells/dust etc which I've never previously had to any degree , floaters and continous dry eye(just one!). I am convinced autoimmune things like these are linked but Drs say no!0
