Hi
I have OA in my hips and last few days experiencing a lot of pain, and more trouble walking more than usual, and this "FIZZING " in my feet and down the side of my calf, I have had the fizzing in my feet before but it feels more severe this time.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of sensation?

hi,yes thats a good way to discribe it.
i do have oa in most of my joints & that type of feeling is constant in my feet.i got up the other morning with a feeling as if i had a crease in my foot too.like a fold of skin, does that make sense :?:
its sometimes hard to desribe the types of pain we get but i'll add that to my list for the pain clinic.
its a different sensation to pins & needles,the burning etc.debsx0 -

I have OA in my knees which i did'nt know about untill i came off steroids, a few months ago i was getting ''FIZZING'' in my feet and i never knew how to describe it!! i used to say it was ''TINGLING'', yes i know how it feels, it's not pins and needles it feels totally different, is it something to do with OA?

Hi
I get alot of fizzing but it starts in my head then goes straight to my feet.
I don't know if it's tablets i am on or what but i haven't changed recently an i am still getting it.
I can go for days without it happening then out the blue i have a whole day where it happens every few minutes........like today!0 -
Hi, I get what I calll an electric shock type feeling that runs down the left side of my body, especially if I'm tired. It only last seconds, and goes away for days, then returns, again. I find it very hard to describe. Apparnertly, that too is the nerve pinched in my neck! Everything seem to effect that blumming 'nerve in my neck'.
Good job theres something to blame!Love Sue

I also get fizzing ( I call it 'Tingling') often when I'm starting a flare of RA. It usually starts in my feet and works up. Sometimes I get it just in my hands when I'm in a full blown flare.
Get it in my head, shoulders & upper back along with a stiff neck when I'm getting a Migraine, too.0 -
Hi
What a great way of describing the feeling in your feet, i also get fizzing. Usually happens if iv been standing in one position for two long, like when im ironing. So my cure is dont do ironingHave you tried a footspa. I find it so soothing when my feet are bad. Hope your feeling better soon.

I, too, have this although have inflammatory arthritis rather than OA..
I get it in my whole arms from top of shoulder down to fingers, down both legs and calf area and in my feet.
I have never been able to get rid of it and it can be painful at times.

Hi, I'm really glad so many people get this fizzing feeling (well, I wish none of us had) because when mine started, a while ago, before or about the same time as my hip pain and back pain, I thought it was something really strange. Perhaps the beginning of MS, as I worked with neuro disease people previously, I know how many odd things can be the start off with odd feelings, something like that! Or even that it was in my imagination. Then I was asked by the rhummy about odd sensations and I told him and he sent me for an MRI scan. This showed a very tiny bone spur touching a nerve when compressed with movement and he thought this was causing the sensations and neck pain. To be honest, I wasn't convinced! So now I know I'm not strange (well, not very), and it seems to be so many people have similar things. Thats the beauty of this site, you realise you're not alone. Love Sue0

I do get loads of strange sensation in my body e.g I had the need to scratch my back as if there is a sort of irritation there. I have checked and there was nothing, it gave me the sensation that the top label was causing some kind of friction against y back, it has stopped now. I thought I was imagining things. Am interested to know what fizzling means?0

Hi Its Me Again
This fizzing is recognised by my doctor and the physio, I have mentioned it previously to my doc I presume at the time it was coming from my back, but my doc who knew what I was talking about and last year I was having physio for plantar Fiscitis but the physio wasnt convinced that it was my feet that was the problem and at this time I didnt know about my hips and I mentioned the fizzing to him and fhe knew exactly what I meant. For those who dont know what the sensation is "Fizzing" is a different sensation to tingling and pins and needles and yeah it is painful. My husband laughs at me when I tell him that my feet are fizzing and all I can say to him is If you ever experience it you will immediately understand the term "FIZZING"
