Hi there. New to here but hoping someone can help :)

Am going on Ofa's **** trail for 4 days - yes must be mad :D and was wondering if anyone has any info on what are the best insoles to get. Have swollen big toe joint which is threatening to ruin the trek :(

Many thanks
Bron

Hi, Many years ago, I walked part of Offa's **** and found it quite hard going then, so congratualtions and good luck on your treck! I can't help you with the insoles, but I hope someone on here will help, I'm sure they will. Happy Walking! :D Love Sue

    Hi and welcome,
I would give Boots a try for insoles. I bought some blue ones for my gardening crocs which made them more comfortable. They had a few choices. Perhaps their more padded ones would be suitable for your trek. Hope it goes well.

    Hi there!

Hope trek went well. Dont know if you know but if you have pains in your feet your GP can refer you to ORTHOTICS department in your local hospital. They give you free insoles for your specific feet (ie) depending if you do alot of sport, walking, or just general walking.

Sometimes they produce them from moulds of your feet. But you tell them what shoes/trainers you want them made for and they produce them.

Waiting time is usually about 5 weeks to see an Orthotic specialist and insoles take about 3-4 weeks to produce. They even post them to your home/work when they are made if that is easier for you. Every 6 months you can get refitted for new ones or they send you a duplicate pair out.

Sounds like it could be what your after. The Boots ones are ok! but this way they are made to your requirements. When I went I didnt know I was flat footed and had a fallen arch one the other foot so they incorporate everything. Are so comfy too.

    Hi Bron,

Yes you probably are a bit mad but how wonderfully exciting for you.

Welcome to posting by the way. :D My insoles are also provided by Orthotics at the hospital but you can only go there by Specialist referral.

    Hope you get sorted out.
