Hi All,

woke up today with raging sore throat, aches, shivers etc. Been to GP and had a full MOT (bloods, throat swab etc) and now on antibiotics.

Will not get my MTX injection this week, and maybe not next week either, so battening down the hatches and trying to take things really steady.

Won't be on here for a while, but will be thinking of you all, and hoping that this can't spread through cyberspace!

hugs to all.
a very wonky wonkylegs.

aw thanks folks! your lovely comments make me feel special. thanks for that!

coughing like a trouper (do they really cough :?:  ) but throat is gradually getting better.
Antibiotics seem to be working, but are also playing havoc with my insides. What with the co-codamol and the antibiotics, my stomach doesn't know what to do!

hope you are all keeping well.

can i recommend rivetas & cheese spread,if ur constipated.it may take 2 dys but clears it out.
my system doesnt work with fruit or veg,but fibre does it for me.
    failing that try red wine.debsx

    Hi Wonky,

Take care and feel much better soon, Cris x

    HI Wonky
So glad you are well enough to post.
    You poor thing :(
I hope your stomach settles soon and that the cough goes back wherever it came from.
P.S. Don't tell Cris, but I recommend you DONT take up Slipper Boy's offer to nurse you - it wouldn't be a pretty sight. I know he's an unregistered chiropractitioner and all that, but......
    Take care

well ...... the good news is that when I phoned the GP yesterday I was told that the throat swab and the bloods came back fine :D , so to stop the antibiotics. :? presumably as they thought it was viral rather than bacterial.

The second bit of good news is that I haven't needed any co-codamol for 36hours now, and the throat feels a lot better.

The BAD news is that in it's place I have the tickly cough from hell. My throat is still swollen, and my body is convinced that there is a foreign body in there which must be ejected. I had no idea that Arthur was hiding there,:lol: , but nevertheless it is a real pain. last night I spent the whole night coughing, and am not expecting much in the way of sleep tonight. At 4 am I was in the kitchen swigging honey by the bucketful ...... but at least it worked and I got a couple of hours kip.

SO .... bees be warned! and if anyone hears of a honey shortfall in Yorkshire you will know it is not the dreaded bee lurgy but merely me trying to get some rest from a tickly throat!!

PS - hope my dentist isn't reading this!

Thanks Gill - I haven't had too much of a problem today stomach wise .... thank goodness! had a large helping of live yoghurt yesterday, and combined with not having to take any more of the antibiotics that is a real help.

    Hi
Good to see you back. I drink hot lemon when I have a cough, the sharper the better, seems to cut through the tickle.
