Well it's finally come through and my nerves are shot to pieces today. I have to go for my pre op on the 20th May and go in for my op on the 5th June, thank goodness they operate the same day as I can't imagine what my nerves would be like if I had to sit around waiting for another 24 hours.
I've had a couple of ops in the past and am quite surprised at my reaction.
I expect today I will start preparing, eg getting ironing up to date cleaning house and anything else I think my husband and daughter aren't capable of. I know they are but you know what us women are like.

    Hi Rita
I am pleased that you have date through, but fully understand how you are feeling! Its strange when we are wishing for a letter with a date, but when it comes it becomes so much more real!
Just keep busy, organise things to take in with you, things at home for after, and have a few days for yourself. You will be limited as to what you can do after for a while so enjoy the sun (if you have some there)
If you need to chat PM me xx

Thanks NB. I have been saving a couple of good books to read when I'm in and when I come out. Just hoping we get some sun this year so I can spend some time recovering in the garden getting a tan.
My head is spinning at the mo, probably settle back down soon.

    Oh Hi Rita!
I AM pleased for you! Now you can get planning.
I had the weekend to plan for my back op and at the time was a single parent to a 5 and 8 year-old! They were brilliant at helping me put on socks and knickers etc.
Still, I would have bottled it if given too long I reckon
Good books, magazines, music tv and fruit!! That's what you need when you get out!
Again I am pleased. Do let us know how you get on, preparations and tghe actual op.
    Take care

Hi, I'm happy for you! Waiting is the horrible, but it is a bit scary to actually go into hospital! You'll be fine! :D Love Sue

    Hi Rita,
It's all so real when the date comes through. I prepared the house , shopping etc but Oh how I wished I' d waxed my legs! now I can't because of hip precautions. had saved a couple of books but found I couldn't concentrate and was glad of a couple of magazines. Also tested myself to an iPod for music games and keeping on touch with this site. Take care

    Hi Rita

Good luck from me too. Funny how shaving the legs are near the top of things to do  When I was in I couldn't settle down with a book but looked at quite a few mags and we all swopped them so never got bored :)

    Love
